Come for the tour and stay for high tea

As other reviewers have noted, the gardens are varied and the work that has gone into them is tremendous. If you are a gardener, bring your camera and take notes during Tom's tour so that you can add something special to your garden that you admired in his.

Much more than a beautiful garden
June 16, 2014We attended a wedding at Spindle Tree Gardens the first week of June.Not many signs giving directions along the way and our GPS would not recognize it. Asked in town for directions and drove right past the little tent card reading "Spindle Tree Gardens" Really could use a large permanent sign. A must visit!!! A rare opportunity to see splendid garden design

Travelled from Vancouver, B.C. to see this extraordinary garden that is a visual feast! The knowledge shared on tour is fantastic and you will be thrilled every step of the way. Children and adults alike will delight in the maze, and marvel at the curved greenhouse. The themes from Rose Garden to Herb Garden are endless....

Beautiful Gardens

About 20 minutes north of Hwy 401 located on county road 4.
Cost is 14.00 for adults and 12.00 for students.
Started 20 years ago by Tom Brown and his wife Susan Meisner.
Tom was architect in Toronto and they settled in Tamworth and built a great house and nice gardens, they kept expanding and more and more people wanted...

Great work by the owners but not worth it
September 01, 2012We went to SpindleTree Gardens expecting a normal garden experience: big gardens that we could roam around at our own leisure. This is not what we got at all. Definitely visit the gardens but ... don't eat here

Gardens are spectacular! Wear good walking shoes. Gardens cover a few acres with many different types of gardens. Site has a beautiful pond with fish. Tom gives a very entertaining and knowledgeable garden tour. Well worth the cost.
Dining experience was very disappointing. Two of us had toasted sandwiches that were not only toasted but burned, third person had delicious...
