Great hotel not too far from downtown Ottawa

Stayed at the hotel with my daughter to attend my grandaughter's hockey tournament. Enjoyed the pool and the sauna.

Hotel is a good choice if you need a hotel in this area.

Lack of shuttle service

The hotel was fine enough, but their shuttle service was limited in terms of both hours (it stops at 10PM) and space (there is only one vehicle and it fills up quickly). I had to take a cab there and back. Annoying.

Perfect for my needs.

Just overnight and off in the am. Arrived at midnight to a clean, comfortable room. Front desk did not inform me of any other services available at this hotel but perhaps he felt I would not be interested due to my late arrival.

Great Location across from an AFRICAN shop

I really enjoyed the pick-up ride from the airport; the courteous staff at the font desk and the great customer service acumen of the guys in the main restaurant. Got to buy some long sought after items from the AFRICAN store across.

The hotel was very nice. The room was clean. The beds were very comfortable. I requested a microwave in the room and was accommodated. The only thing we did not like about the hotel was the shower. Reserved through Expedia based on the feedback of other guests. I reserved a room with a queen sized bed but found two doubles instead. I couldn't bother to change rooms so didn't make any complaint. Our hotel was nice clean and comfortable. The staff was great. My only complaint, as with most hotels is the shower head doesn't provide a nice amount of pressure. It's like walking through a misty rain. Other than that, great hotel, would gladly stay there again

Lovely hotel

Just stayed one night for a wedding nearby. Very attractive decor. Large clean rooms with a fantastic bed, even got our own private balcony. Nice soaps and shampoos. Continental breakfast isn't exactly mind-blowing, but there was oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, juice, yogurt and little muffins - enough to get you on the road.

Good spot, watch for fine print in pet fees

The hotel overall was great- beds comfortable, in room mini fridge was nice, TV reception wasn't good with blurry reception on the channels... Not a big issue for us. Staying at Southway

The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and accommodating. Although the bed was not very comfortable, the room was clean and large. The food at the restaurant was excellent. I recommend the salmon to anyone who eats there. Having free Wifi and snacks in the lobby was also a nice touch.

The hotel was great. The staff was nice, there was free coffee and tea at all times plus there was even some free breakfast items to grab on your way out. The room was wonderful, clean, big tv, etc. We really enjoyed our stay.

Elegant hotel!

This was the nicest hotel that we have ever stayed. The interior is stunning; very clean with the most gorgeous decor. The staff were able to accommodate all of our requests and followed through. I would have to say that the next visit to Ottawa would definitely include this hotel.

Perfect for what we needed

We needed a nice hotel for our family of 4 close to the airport, and this fit the bill. Quiet in our room and all the amenities we needed. Used the pool with our kids which was fine for family use. Places to eat within walking distance.

Had the chance to stay during a recent trip to Winterlude. The staff are amazing and the room was first rate. I removed one star as the hotel was a little further from the canal than I would have liked, but that is not the hotel's fault.

One of the best airport gateway hotels in Canada

This is the only Ottawa airport gateway hotel that does it all professionally---including conferences.
Tiny little lounge at Shallows restaurant - what a cozy non threatening atmosphere - just show up as you are.
Much of management and staff personnel still there after many years of service --- need I say more?

The staff were great! The rooms were very clean and very nice.One of my favorite parts was the shower. It was like being in a spa. The breakfast was excellent. Not only were there many options, such as gluten free muffins, but they had Starbucks coffee :) I would definitely stay here again!

I like staying at the Southway Inn due to it's location, close to the airport and the South Keys Shopping area. It's nice too that you can leave your empty luggages in between stays when we went elsewhere for the weekend. The pool & restaurant are very nice also.

The room was very smelly with a strong odor and I called front desk and they basically told me they were full. The "old" airconditioning unit was so loud I couldn't turn it on because I couldn't sleep. I was charged full price and at least expected a call from the customer service manager to apologize and offer me something for my bad experience but so far nothing.

This is absolutely gorgeous place with friendly stuff and excellent
facilities. It’s so well maintained and customer service is so good that
we had a feeling of being living in a hotel with a higher star rating. I

I liked the clean homey atmosphere of the hotel and also the fact that
it is only a 5 min drive to the Casino and race track. Staff were very

The facilities are good but the true test of a good hotel is how they treat their guests when they have problems, especially with simple things. I ran into two situations where their attitude was not caring or helpful. The first was when I needed a flip chart holder for a presentation. I have stayed here many times and have finally given up with them. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express. The front desk is nicer and yes you don't get a microwave but you get a clean new room. The hotel is old and people still come here because there is no where else to go when the downtown suites are booked. Sorry SouthWay talk to your front desk staff.

Horrible customer service

We were charged almost $* to stay for 1 night. We never made it back until 3 the next day because our daughter was getting testing at the CHEO. We checked out at 3 and the manager would not wave the fee. Where is the compasion? We are passing the word around to everyone! Very poor service!
