For a person visiting, this market was perfect for me. It was within walking distance from where I was staying, and it had a great variety of food and non-food items. The store was clean and store personnel were efficient. The fruits and veggies looked fresh. If I return to the area, I would shop here again!

Grocery store shopping in Toronto is funny. You have the Metro/Sobeys/Loblaws middle class, the premium butchers and speciality stores and then the low down discount chains like no frills and freshco. Without a doubt I would shop at a discount chain any day of the week. The selection and produce are often as good (they do more volume) and the prices are better. I know its hypocritical to... more

I used to live right across the street (208 Queen Quay West) and I used to come here quit a bit not for food but for wine.
When it comes to the food they sell there I was always happy to walk the other way and go to longo's since it was much better food, much better priced and I could actually get someone to help me.
Overal the only reason I went here was because of the wine store which was... more

Sounds like the Sobeys I use to shop at on Front Street east that is now closed. It was a store with great potential and poorly managed. Seems to be a trend with Sobeys. i truly hope the manager from front hasn't been transferred to this location.

Amazing high end, high tech grocery store in a chic urban setting. efficient staff, tremendous selection. Moderate pricing and very fresh food. Parking is a challeng, best to walk. Truly outstanding experience

I find alot of expired things on the shelves and when I complain no one cares. They barely have the basics and I am disappointed with myself every time I venture in there considering I walk the extra block for Longo's who seem to have staff that actually care about the customers

Very ideal location. And looks nice from the outside.

With no other grocery store on the harbourfront (the convenience stores do not count), it is disappointingly small, especially if you want to do groceries here. If I lived across the street, i would be sad.

It is also extremely expensive, it makes longos' prices feel cheap. Oh, and no pharmacy inside. boo~~

You know that your shopping experience isn't going to be fun when the automatic door hits you on the way in! Yes, that's right, as soon as you go through the main entrance on Queens Quay the automatic door swings to hit you...I would think that would be understandable if the door was for both in and outbound traffic, but the door is "in only" so it should be swinging the other way.

Selection is mediocre - it's got your basics. It feels like a Sobey's express location though it's not officially labeled as one.

Go here because it's close and that's about it.

Tip : sign up for the Club Sobey's card so you can get something out of your visits one day. It doesn't feel as bad if you're earning some points for your visits.

This location is quite small compared to other Sobeys I have been to. The service is almost nonexistent and you have to chase someone to get something ask where things are. Prices are in line with other mid-high end stores (the specials make it worthwhile to shop here and sometimes you can make a good mileage run for Aeroplan :) my just buying stuff for bonus points.) I think with the huge... more

It's tiny, sure, but the location wins points--when you're stuck for ferry fare, you can get cash back here by buying a pack of gum, and when you're craving something cheap and sweet in the middle of the day, the pastry case is there for you with 79 cent eclairs.

Agree with the other Yelpers here... this is a small, under-stocked, over-priced grocery store. I understood why people shopped here a year ago, but now that the new Maple Quay Longo's has opened, WHY oh WHY would anyone still go here?

I'll tell you: I'm lazy too. I work at Harbourfront Centre, so this is a go-to place when I only have 5 minutes to go and grab something to stuff in my face.

It's a small, mostly overpriced grocery store on the Harbourfront. Sounds good to me.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The only thing really wanted to point out here is they have ridiculous deals on meat every day. 50% stickers litter the shelves close to the end of the day. I've eaten my fair share of sub $2 meats thanks to this fact. So far, no terrible consequences.

I have trouble with this place. Mostly because I can't bear to go inside. They either have a "teenager repellent" system or a "vermin repellent" system in this location that I find painfully loud. I'm no teenager either... I'm in my upper 30's so statistically I shouldn't be able to hear that stuff any more. But alas, I can strangely still hear up into the "dog" regions of hearing that most... more

YEOWCH. Expensive as heck here and crowded. Very limited and overpriced selection but if you need something in a pinch (i.e. you ran out of flour or you need just one lemon) this is your place and probably fresher than going to the corner store, whose food you don't know how long its been festering on the shelf.

Very strange layout in this store, even though it is quite small I had a bit of a... more

Great location on the water! Fresh Fish & Meats, very convenient for residents on Queens Quay.

Seemed a little on the higher priced side for a market, but I think it's aimed more toward tourists based on the location. I was on the hunt for some maple butter though and all the other supermarkets I'd gone to didn't have any. I've seen it at touristy stores, but for super expensive. I found the maple butter at Sobeys for less than half the price. Go Sobeys!

I go to Harbourfront almost every weekend in the summer, so Sobey's is one of those places where I make my inevitable stop for makeshift picnicky, snack-and-drink items for the waterside.

Doesn't mean that it's my favourite place to go; I'd much rather head to the Metro down the road, but this one is so close. I suppose its smallness, strange layout, and high prices are payment for... more

This location is unfortunately overpriced and clear designed to part tourists and their money. The store is small, located in the bottom of the terminal building. You couldn't do a full shop here (they have a fairly limited selection stuff) but it's great if you're just picking up a few things.

The one thing this Sobey's is great for is lunch - they have a made to order sandwich and salad bar,... more
