This was my fifth time to Sidedoor in the past three years and a favourite place to take any visiting friends from outside Ottawa.

Too noisy down under

Food was good/ very good but seating at the back of restaurant was not comfortable. It was way too noisy: level of music, table next door and seats are not comfortable and way too heavy to move towards the table. When your customers make reservations they should have a choice of window table and in your questionnaire there should be a choice for too loud when you ask about noise level.

Was there a few years ago and preferred the menu then. Now its a tasting menu. Food choices were tasty, however the best part was the fresh baked donuts for dessert (and this is coming from someone who normally does not crave sweets!).

Excellent dinner

I had only been there for a lunch a couple of times and my friend suggested we try dinner. It was incredible! The food was amazing, the service very good and we had a great evening.

food was delicious but the price tag was VERY expensive

Tucked away in a side alley in the Market, I never knew about this place till a couple of weeks ago. The decor and ambiance are excellent for a dinner date.

Recommend the Bajan Crispy Fish Tacos and the Pork Belly (the sauce is amazing). A little bit pricey but I would definitely go again.

This place was excellent! Would go again in a heartbeat. Didn't have a reso on a Sat night but they had room for us in one of the pods which worked out great. Food was amazing - flank steak dish, papaya salad, and donuts were highlights! Would love to try in the summer.

I’m still trying to figure out what Sidedoor is all about. It’s looks like a fusion of Mexican and Asian cuisine. There are tacos, Indian and Thai curries, Chinese dumplings and Japanese innovations.
