Conviniently located on Bloor Street, One block west of Spadina, SERRA Ristorante offers an outstanding dining experience, regardless of the occasion. I've been dining at Serra since my student days at the University of Toronto. Back then, I loved it for its excellent food, friendly service, and reasonable prices. Guess what? It hasn't changed. This is an upscale-looking spot: The diners are casually chic, and Serra's look is sleek, with a wood-paneled bar in one corner and mahogany tables for two. The trattoria-worthy fare includes... more
I have been to this Bloor Street ristorante before – it seems to be a favourite among my friends. On a previous occasion I do remember it being noisy, but this time we came for a late lunch so we were soon the only patrons. The salad and appetizer was delicious and big enough for sharing. The entrees were good... more
Met some friends here for lunch recently. It was all passable. But nothing to rave about. The grilled vege sandwich was alright. I can think of better Italian food.
I ate here in a large group with a pre-quoted price per person. On arrival the price jumped by about 15% and the automatic gratuity jumped from 15% to 25%. However the real problem is that they charged us for three times the number of wine bottles we actually consumed, so we were overbilled by about $600. They refused, on... more
Have been to the restaurant 3 or 4 times on special occasions. The service is excellent -- friendly happy staff ... the food is great (desserts are especially yum yum) ... The only thing I don't like is that it tends to be noisy, because it's small, and the tables are close together. Last time we had a family with... more
I literally stumbled upon this Bloor St. West gem on a frigid walk back to my hotel from the Royal Ontario Museum. The sidewalk chalk board with menu specials caught my eye as I kept my head down braced against an arctic wind.
Inside was almost deserted I guess because of the weather but two male staffers were all smiles...

We went there with a friend following a jazz concert earlier in the afternoon. The staff were quick, thorough, and pleasant. The food was good and portions were a good size.
I hate coming out from a restaurant after paying a considerable sum of money feeling totally unsatisfied. Don't you?
That's precisely what's happened to me after dinner at Serra Ristorante in Toronto, but I can't blame anyone but myself for that. You know why? I didn't consult the TripAdvisor application prior to entering the restaurant, that's why!
We finished our...

Years ago we went here fairly frequently. Then we moved to another part of town, and our visits stopped. The other day a friend invited us to have dinner here. The food was adequate but little or nothing more than that, and the service was no better. The soup really did need seasoning, and my ravioli were on the tough... more
Serra was once a reliable spot in an interesting neighbourhood for first-rate pasta with inventive and flavourful sauces. On our last visit we were served dishes that were simply mediocre.
Clearly a change of management has had an unfortunate effect on the kitchen and the service is too casual for the price.
I and with relatives and friends visited this place now for more the 15 years. The food is still great like on the first visit. We will be going back shortly, doing it about 4 times a year. THAT good is it.
About the menu: Everything taste great, my favored: Angelhair. Also the daily special are worth looking at.
My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant at around 830 on a Tuesday, with another couple. There were 4 other diners in the restaurant. When we arrived we waited 15 minutes before someone approached us. We finally got some water, but no bread. Eventually, they informed us that they had run out of bread. No replacement and nothing else... more
We've twice and it's a winner both times. Good selection and their set price three course dinner is great value. Many choices to suit and all amazing. Loved the veal scallapine. On Bloor Street where there are tons of restaurant choices. This is one we've returned to for Italian food. Many wine options too. The wait staff are great. Very... more
This place is terrible. The menu and decor is stuck in the 1990s. From the frosted glass view of the kitchen to the boring wine list, our meal at Serra was an awkward disappointment.
My gin fizz was not in fact a gin fizz, but a simple gin and soda served with a wedge of lime. The dishes lacked finess,...

This hideaway on bloor near spadina has excellent food and wine, and is close to shopping, music, and theatre. Great service always gets you out on time. No patio and no reservations so best to come early and take your time
An old favourite and still a fantastic experience. Fab pizza's and great Long Island ice tea ! My only negative - our waitress forgot to serve us the complimentary flatbreads when we arrived and wasn't as attentive as she could have been ! Nevertheless, totally enjoyed the meal and will always visit when back in Toronto
Unfortunately, this was a pretty bad experience. The food was good but everything else wasn't handled very well by the restaurant.
(1) We waited 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Many in our group ordered pizzas and the waitress said the reason it was taking long was because they could only make one pizza at a time. This is...

Good food. Comfortable space. Art work for sale on the walls. Bright and cheery atmosphere. Very urban.
I had the gnocchi with rose sauce, stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach, very tasty. I also had the lindeman's Pinot noir which was good.
A bit pricey but worth it. Friendly service. I've been going to this restaurant for 15 years.
Excellent pasta and great service. Nice Annex ambience.
Great atmosphere, great food. I had one of the best lamb chop dishes here in this restaurant. The pasta is all right too. Prices are decent and reasonable.
One of my favourite italian restaurants in the city. Great food. Not too pricey.
Good pasta...amazing gelato!
I love their grilled chicken angel hair pasta with tomato sauce. Their desserts are awesone, especially their gelato!
For the price the food is very good though the portions are smaller than average. The atmosphere is great. Even on a Saturday evening we were not rushed out of the place when myself and 3 friends spent well over an hour after the meal talking.
Came here for my birthday back in April with a friend and we were really impressed with the small friendly atmosphere. I always think in this kind of place that the food is generally going to be pretty good compared to larger 'sit, serve, shoo' type of restaurants which there are too many of for my liking. Made welcome from the beginning, no rush, I ordered lasagne which was maybe a touch... more
Its a small place, maybe ten tables, with great food. I ordered
the pesto pasta and a Caesar salad. I added chicken to the salad
in order to have a little meat with my meal. Big mistake the salad
was big enough to be a meal by itself. The pesto was prepared with
just the right mixture of ingredients.

Serra Pizza & Pasta is a casual Italian eatery with a lot of flair. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and the menu includes a wide selection of original pizza and pasta dishes. Also choose from main dishes that include chicken breast, beef tenderloin and Atlantic salmon. The dress code is smart casual and reservations are not required.
Located in The Annex neighbourhood and close to numerous attractions such as the Bata Shoe Museum and the University of Toronto campus, this restaurant is one of the city's dining hot spots—and non-smoking to boot. Aside from 11-inch thin-crust pizza (CAD9.95-CAD11.25), there's a selection of pastas such as linguine with octopus and tiger shrimp (CAD13.50). Other mains include roasted... more
