We really enjoyed our stay. The bedroom and the living room with the kitchen area are really nice. The location is convenient. We haven't tried the fitness center and the spa etc.The two quibbles are:(1) The washroom is a little small, and (2) the free WIFI is not of very high quality.

Got the skytrain from the airport to downtown and wasn't aware you could get the 6 bus from there to the hotel, but still the hotel is nowhere near a skytrain stop, which is what I'd have preferred.

Do hotel owners think people are stupid? Do they think that somehow magically they won't hear the thumping bass music from a nearby club that starts at 09:30 and finishes near daybreak? I would not recommend staying here with children, the sounds from the sirens and car alarms, not to mention the club next door, kept waking my kids all through the night.

Having to go to St. Paul's quite a bit lately and I stay at the Sandman Suites on Davies St. There are so very polite and accommedating each and every visit. They give great hospital rates and are close to everything I like to do while in Vancouver. Highly recommend them!

Disappointed

We booked this hotel for NYE as the location fit with our plans for the evening. The suite smelled strongly of stale cigarettes, the windows sweat and looked moldy, not very sound proof and the elevators were very slow. If that isn't an issue for you, great staff and great location. I would not chose to stay here again.

Stayed one night. Well equipped room with separate bedroom (small), living area with balcony, sofa bed, washer/dryer, full stove, dishwasher, microwave. Room was quiet. Hotel was a little removed from Robson St but it's easy walking in Vancouver. Bathroom was small - you would struggle to get two people in unless one was in the shower. Would definitely stay again.

While going for a series of doctor appoinments in Vancouver, my friend recommended the Sandman Suites Hotel. They were very affordable and comfortable rooms. We were also able to do some shopping on Robson Street. My overall experience was good!

Suites have all the comforts of home extremely well equipped - cooker, dishwasher, washer/ dryer and much more. Right across the street from a 24hr grocer/ pharmacy store. Close to numerous eateries including a Denny's. 10 minute walk to Stanley park. Staff very helpful.

The online photos look great but the rooms are really terrible. Kitchen was nice but the washer did not work right and it takes 4 hrs for just 1 load. I've stayed in Sandman near Toronto Airport - superb - the location on Davie felt a little more downscale - but nevertheless was still reasonably good.
Room was clean with lots of space - full kitchen. Quiet location yet still near restaurants, grocery stores etc...
Overall I think reasonably good value at under $200/night.

Good location and lots of space

The staff for very nice and helpful, the hotel is very conveniently located, we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see/do. Rooms are nothing fancy but clean and provide lots of space and convenience.

I got a suite by the same price as a regular room. The service room was very efficient, everything was extremely clean and they came everyday to wash even the dishes of the kitchen.

Great location with nearby restaurants, shops, walking distance to Stanley Park. In fact some of the buzz of nightlife can be heard in the evening at the ninth floor level. Nice central location between the people I was visiting.

Love the underground gated parking. It made me feel safer.The lobby personal was wonderful when the Business Center computer wont let me get checked in for my flight. He did it from the Hotel Computer and then printed out my boarding pass.

We had stayed in this hotel before and had an overall good impression. The room was cleaner and front desk employees were friendlier and helpful. We did not have the same experience this time.

The hotel was pretty good. The room had a nice kitchenette, living room and bedroom, also had a sofabed in the living room. The location was excellent, close to everything. The hotel also had Moxie's restaurant on the premises (fantastic food!).I found the parking a bit pricey though and the elevators very slow.

Great hotel stay

My girlfriend and I stayed here for the ASMS conference. The staff was okay: front desk staff was friendlier than our one instance with room service. Amenities were more than you could ask for! The worse part of the stay was the three elevators that took forever- at one point we took the stairs from the seventh floor because we had waited 5 min. Other than that, excellent!

It is an older hotel obviously, so it would take a considerable amount of money to upgrade the heating and air conditioning, but the rooms have full kitchens with separate sleeping areas. A Different, High-Quality Experience

My wife and I spent four nights at this hotel for our first visit to Vancouver. The hotel was terrific and located quite convenitently. The neighborhood was definately not what we were used to but that was okay. It was very international and clearly catered to people with alternative lifesyles. Something different!!!

Located in downtown Vancouver, within walking distance to plenty of shopping and entertainment. Rooms offfered a full kithchen, seperate bedroom and balcony with good views. The space is a bit tight and the spare couch bed is too small for more than one person.

The Sandman is in a great location. The front desk service was friendly and helpful. Parking is extra, and with tax it amounts to about $26 night. The rooms are clean and the bed was comfortable. The shower didn't drain well, but otherwise the room seemed to be in decent working order. We liked the suite style. Overall, this is a good value for the price.

Nice location

I enjoyed the hotel in the heart of the [*] district. I stayed in one of the better rooms not sure if I would have liked it as much if not. I usually prefer the Fairmont because I love indoor pools and first class rooms. However, I can imagine staying here again. Oh, the elevators are way freakin to slow!!

Sandman Suites on Davie Vancouver suited our purpose

because it was a spacious suite with adequate cooking facilities and also a washing machine. It was also in an interesting area with plenty of restaurants and a couple of good supermarkets. It was within walking distance of English Bay and Stanley Park, with a regular bus service to Downtown Vancouver.
