We booked our reservation online and initially they couldnt didnt find it. However, within 15 minutes and after calling their corporate offices we were checked in and were given a free upgrade to a king room.
The hotel has been recently renovated and is really quite beautiful. Even though they are upgrading the hotel, we never saw or heard any...

Stayed here one night as we couldn't get a room in Kelowna. Lobby was bright and clean, updated and modern. The rooms however are still a work in progress. Swag lamp??? Outdated fixtures. The bed was very clean and comfortable, the room itself was quiet.
I would give this hotel another try when their renovations are complete.
The next morning...

I booked a room at the Sandman Inn & Suites Vernon from the online central reservations on August 4th for a one-night stay for August 5th. One of the conditions of the booking was the need to have accessibility for my elderly father. I asked for a first floor room or, failing this, access to an elevator for higher-level floors.... more
Thank God for air conditioning. The hotel is centrally located in Vernon. It has just undergone a renovation to update. It has been tastefully done in charcoal, stone and wood with each room having a full kitchen flush to the wall. It has a small pool and a Denny's Restaurant attached to it that runs 24hours a day. The staff... more
We had two suites booked and checked in quite late after having been on the road for 12 hours. The one suites air conditioning didn't work at all (weather was over 32 degrees for the 3 nights/4 days that we were in Vernon) and the other kept it just bearable but certainly not cold. I should have been wary when... more
I made our reservation about two months prior to arrival but when we got there, the reservations had somehow been cancelled. The front desk person was pleasant and said they had switched to a new computer system and maybe they were lost in the switch. They had rooms available so it want a big deal, but it still frustrated me,... more
Checked in early, turned the Air-conditioning on came back late, knowing we needed to wake up early. Got to the room and the ac was off. Opened the window, and there was no screen. Spoke to front desk and they moved us at 12:30am to another room. The ac was on and the room was cool already. Thanks to the... more
A few things wrong with the Sandman in Vernon, BC which was under renovations:- Room air-con broke immediately when turned on so we had to use emergency fans. It was 33 degrees outside, so it just blew hot air around. Horrible.- The room phone was dead so we couldn't call for room service (which was Denny's -_-)- The gym was under renovation and when we went in to see and was in a small suite... more
My last sandman experience was terrible so I did not know what to expect, this hotel was actually quite good. Newly renovated in all public areas and all the rooms with the exception oft he drapes, big deal, the staff even let me know this before checking in. Great service, big, clean room, with a small kitchenette. Bathrooms is very... more
Rooms were very comfortable. Was a very good sleep.
Air con worked a treat and bathroom was large.
The Irish pub next door is great for a meal and drink.
Reception were friendly and helpful at check in.
Newly renovated, friendly helpful staff, easy to find. Out unit had a full kitchen so if you had a longer stay it was good to be able to cook.
It is on the main road but triple pane windows didn't hear anything.
We were greeted by friendly staff , Kia apologized for for the renovation being done in the lobby and checking in went well .also the room was fantastic .
I was so impressed I have booked another night in May .
I have 2 kids under 7 who never sleep well in hotels. This hotel had comfortable beds, was quiet and had true blackout curtains which meant my kids slept in almost 2 hours later than normal. The pool was large, the kitchenette well equipped. The staff was courteous and unobtrusive. The construction currently going on wasn't an issue as the... more
During our 2 night stay with my family we stayed at the Sandman Inn. We stayed in a "suite" which was basically an average hotel room with a counter and kitchen attached.
The pool was basic, but the kids had fun.
Walking around the hotel, there were pieces of wall or baseboard missing because of the renovations.
It was really...

Firstly, these places REALLY need to fess-up and tell you if they have construction going on at the time you book. I would never normally have stayed in that place (especially with other choices just down the road), but the room was book for me by someone else. What an absolute dive! My colleague and I arrived to find the... more
The room was quite adequate. We were just there for the night. Our room did not have elevator access so we lugged luggage up the stairs. We had not booked this hotel but our hotel lost Roma from a pipe break, so they were helping us out.
I thought the restaurant was very good value!
Stayed 4 nights.1st afternoon checked in, worked all day in in 94 degree heat got back to room ,air not working .Called front desk uncaring bad attidute , were unsure after conversation what they were going to do. Phone a second time later different person said they would give us another room , he came up with key. Checked room... more
My elderly mother & I were booked to stay 4 nights. They never told us when we booked the room that they were renovating. They told us the room we were in was just done a month or so earlier, and rooms just down the hall were being done. There was no fridge in the room, we could not open... more
We had to switch hotels in the middle of our stay. The Sandman was amazing!!! Ashley upgraded us from 2 doubles to 1 king. The room was clean, comfortable and had plenty of space. The hotel was going through renovations, but the work was left in a usable state during the weekend we were there. Apparently there was a baseball... more
Lovely hotel, staff were ridiculously friendly and rooms were very nice. The hotel has been recently refurbished so rooms are in great condition.
Wifi is super fast aswell, as usual for Sandman, they've got a 24/7 Denny's attached to the hotel.
Would stay here again if I was in the area.
Every year the lacrosse team heads to Vernon for a tournament. I always book at the Sandman, close to the rinks. This past time I stayed on the suite side, and we hadn't even gotten to our hotel door when a live in resident got angry at the boys, laying down the rules.
Geeze if you can't handle people coming...

Very accommodating staff, that goes the extra to please the client. They more than make up for the minor issues of the rooms. There is currently construction upgrades in the hotel and as a result the one end is quite noisy during the day. The staff were very sensitive to this and responded to our concerns promptly providing us with... more
I stayed at the Vernon Sandman early in March after a not so great day of travelling. The staff were all amazing, super friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfy, just what I needed after a long day on the road. I look forward staying there again!
Junior Suite comes with a small couch and one chair microwave and frig. It nice to be able to sit in a comfy chair and watch a flat screen. great for a room in this price range. Front desk was helpful in suggesting a route for short walk.
Stayed for three nights while in Vernon on business in late Feb. this year. The lobby was beautiful and the rooms clean and well maintained. Guest services were very helpful and friendly and one kind lady even helped me figure out the Map app on my iPad. Great value for the room. I will definately be back!
Stayed with family for a hockey tournament. Was not informed the hotel was under construction during our stay.
Walls very thing between rooms - you can hear 'everything' from above and below your suite. The hallways are freezing cold (no heat whatsoever in our hallway). We were alotted two towels for a family of four and were questioned when we...

After touring the U.S. for 17 days and staying in several different hotels in 8 different states, we were definitely spoiled with very large, beautiful clean rooms which we paid the same for, or less, for just an average, tiny room we were in at the Sandman. Definitely overpriced and a bit outdated. The hallways definitely need the carpet replaced... more
This place is definitely more a motel but it was fine for a night's stay. The room needs a refurbishment but again as it was only one night it did the job. We slept well and the bathroom was fine too. The AC worked well and it seemed fairly quiet when you were in the room.

The hotel itself is quite adequate - dated but clean. Unfortunately, our room was at the back of the hotel facing the back alley, with a view of a very dumpy house beside the hotel parking lot. Garbage was strewn all over the back of this house. There was a constant stream of rough-looking visitors to the home, most of... more
During an organized tour around the Canadian Rockies, we stayed here for one night.
Overall, it was a good stay. The room was big enough and clean. The walls looked dated, with discoloured areas and spots where obviously something heavy hit the wall, but else the room was perfectly fine for us. It was quiet, the beds comfortable, so we...

We recently stayed one night at this hotel in Vernon. Our rate included breakfast at Denny's. we arrived before 10am on a Saturday and were very surprised that we were allowed an early checkin. My Dad and I recently spent two nights at the Sandman Inn in Vernon. After a skiing accident my husband had to stay in the Vernon Hospital and I needed a place to stay where I felt safe and warm. I recently spent the night in Vernon at the Sandman, and found it to very comfortable and clean. wish I had one of their beds in my own bedroom. slept like a log. I found the staff freindly and helpful with directions. All in all a great stay...will stay there again the next time I'm thru that way.
I recently stayed at the Vernon Sandman. Though an older hotel, I found the rooms to be very clean and comfortable! The staff was very nice and always willing to answer any questions we had. The kids loved the pool!! We spent alot of time in there:) All in all, I would definetly stay there again!
We have had to stay here a few times for my husbands medical appointments and the room was paid for, but never again free or not. Worst place ever! O . K. Has no customer service! Room key was not working multiple times and the front desk responded " what do you want me to do about it." and " no one else seems to have a problem. What are you doing to it" only got housekeeping ever other day if that because "we are not... more
We got an amazing deal, the staff was really helpful.
Don't go to the Denny's in the hotel because the food was not good.
Otherwise, the hotel was cool and clean.
Recently stayed at the Vernon Sandman on my way home. Was hoping to stay in Kelowna, but decided travel through and find a room in Vernon instead. Heading through town I seen the Sandman and decided to stay for the night and hopefully eat a meal at Denny's.
When I arrived I was greated with a "Good Evening, Sir". I...

I was dismayed to be staying at this accomodation after reading the ghastly reviews on tripadvisor. For a couple of guys competing in a soccer tournament the room was perfectly fine. Good location, good value for the price. The built in Denny's restaurant is convenient. I didn't discover a hot tub which was disappointing. The noise level was on the loud end of the spectrum, although I've stayed in louder places. The only real disappointment was on checkout when the doddering older staff... more
The rooms were extremely small and not cleaned very well. (A layer of dust all around the edge of the room. Dust on the top of the TV cabinet.) We got locked out of our room because the battery died on our lock. It took over half an hour to get in. After four trips down to the front desk... more

I was very nervous after reading some reviews on this site ... we stayed for 1 night at the Sandman Vernon for easy access to a hockey tournament in Lumby. This is one of the worst hotels, if not the worst hotel we have ever stayed at!!! We were looking for a hotel in Vernon and stopped at this one. The price was alright so we took a room. The room we had was the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Disappointing experience because I really needed my sleep. You can feel the springs in the beds and they're not even Queen Size! - only Double..
Just returned from a two night stay at this hotel. The property is somewhat run down, but overall acceptable for the price. There are two sections (an older section, and much newer tower). The rooms in the tower section are much nicer (specifically request a room here)
