Moi et mon époux avons couchés au Sandman Hotel le 25 juin 09, nous avons beaucoup aimé .Très propre et très confortable. Situé à côté du métro et du grand stationnement P2. Nous le recommandons à tous.
We just spent 3 nights at the Sandman and were very satisfied. The location is fantastic, parking is free and the metro is just across the street. The room was well furnished, spacious and clean, and also included a small frig. We will definately go back to this hotel.
Good Points-1.Metro station right in the parking lot of the hotel,2.Restaurant, Grocery Store and Shopping mall all within walking distance, 3.Free parking, 4.Friendly helpful staff, 5. Comfortable Beds, and clean room, 6. Pool and Gym Bad Points-1. No hot tub
We stayed at the Sandman on our way to Quebec City and on our way back home from Quebec City. The staff at the front desk very friendly, accomodating and knowledgeable. They gave us a map and great directions for driving to wherever we wanted to go. The bridge to cross the river is very close and convenient. The rooms were very clean and had 2 queen beds. The beds were fresh and clean and they... more
I stayed there December 29, 2010 - January 1, 2011 with my wife and 2 girls, ages 7 and 11. What an awful place! Upon arrival, a condascending college student "greeted" us matter-of-factly. The rug in the room had a moist, rancid odor. The furniture looked vintage 70's and appeared worn and shoddy. Only the pictures on the wall had any real style. I took my kids to the pool. Several of the... more
My wife and I stayed here in Oct 2007. The hotel staff was phenomenal. The room was gorgeous. We enjoyed our stay so much we actually stayed 2 nights longer than originally planned. The location was great - right on the Metro. I recommend that if you are coming into Montreal by plane or train to not even bother renting a car if you are staying in the city. Everything is so convenient to the... more
Very comfortable firm beds that will give you a good night's sleep. Good location close to Metro. Spacious room, with internet. Overall we are very satisfied.
Great hotel in almost all ways. I truly recommend this hotel. Only one thing that you might need to stay away from in the hotel is the "telephone" because you might regret that you use it if you call any number other than numbers with the same area code as the hotel's. Other than that, everything is great.
We spent a very cold New Year's week-end in Montreal at the Sandman. The hotel's location next to the Metro station made commuting into the city easy. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Pleasant place ,convenient location near metro to go to downtown Montreal .staff are friendly
The only thing for us was that it took us quite some time to figure out the driving route to get back to the hotel from the city.I would say that everything else was what we paid for.
Hotel was difficult to find--GPS would not let us load the address. Once found, it was a wonderful hotel--especially for the price. Once there we upgraded to a smoking room that also included a complete morning breakfast buffet. Location next to subway station allowed us to keep our car parked (at no charge) and walk to any place we wanted to see.At hotel, ice machines on all floors out of... more
What makes this hotel stand out is that it is right next to a Metro station (distance about 10 m), which gives you easy access to La Ronde (next stop) and all of Montreal...The Hotel is OK, with friendly staff and has a pool and a fitness centre - great for the kids. Easy to reach from the highway.
This place is convenient and next to the metro. Staff is friendly.
The hotel is pretty decent for the price we paid. Its location is very convenient, even though it is outside of Montreal. The metro station right next to the hotel was a great help! We pretty much got around everywhere in Montreal on metro. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel only has one restaurant, which does not have much of a choice.
We went up to Montreal for a "spur of the moment" trip. We didn't really know what to expect since we didn't know too much about traveling in Montreal, but we wanted to book a hotel somewhere outside of Montreal, which was also accessible by the metro. We ended up staying at the Sandman in Longueuil. It was a little confusing getting there due to the nearby construction, but we made it after a... more
This was one of two Sandman hotels where I stayed on a road trip across Canada, and as an American I had never heard of the chain. It was a very pleasant surprise. This hotel near Montreal was very well run by a friendly and professional staff. Rooms were clean and comfortable, a nice restaurant was available in the lobby, and the place possessed a very classy ambiance, something I wasn't... more
Great Hotel to access Old Montreal and downtown Montreal without having to pay the downtown rate. Literally footsteps from the subway. 20 - 25 minutes to all Montreal attractions. Very friendly and helpfull staff.
After searching through the hotels in Montreal, the Sandman returned within my criteria (price, pool). I was very impressed with the price, the free parking, a pool, restaurant, and quick access to the metro from reviews. I booked the hotel based on this description.I was very happy with everything at this hotel. It was exceedingly easy to get to (we came from NY across the border) once in... more
Perfect for travelers interested in exploring Montreal by public transit. The hotel is literally next door to the hotel. We drove from Boston, parked for free and purchased 3 day Metro passes for $18. The hotel itself was nice -- clean rooms, great water pressure, friendly staff. There's a tiny gym (probably less than 10 machines) and a small indoor pool with an oudoor deck for sunning. We... more
Traveled for a little site seeing and for the U2 concert, the hotel was perfectly situated in front of the Metro and its parking was free. The service was great and friendly and the rooms are great for the price.
Our family of 5 senior citizens had a memorable journey in Canada! It was the best because we stayed at hotels like the Sandman with great accommodations for the price, easy access to the Metro, great hostess in the bar and restaurant, and most importantly, the staff at the desk was excellent in tourist information and guiding us along. We hope to return again!
This hotel can definitely use some renovation. The lobby looked dated with broken tiles on the floor and dirty grouts. The front desk was under-staffed. The carpet in the hallway was loose and we almost tripped on it. With the AC on in our room, we unfortunately still could not get rid of the moldy smell. I would try a different hotel next time when I visit Montreal.
The Sandman Hotel is conveniently located next to the Montreal Metro, and has some good views overlooking the other side of the St. Lawrence River (depending on your room location). The Metro and a day pass is really the best way to visit the Montreal, as the city has narrow streets and is packed with cars. All signs are in French only, so it is rather challenging to navigate the city. ... more
Very friendly staff that provided us with excellent restaurant recommendations. Free parking. Literally next door to the metro station, which is about a 10 minute ride to downtown. If you really want to stay in the heart of Montreal, obviously not the place for you, but otherwise, a great place to stay.
It is just beside the Metro station!
We were looking for one night near downtown Montreal for a shopping trip. The map indicated it was walking distance from downtown -- It wasn't at all.The pool was murkey and there wasn't anyone who could look at the pool until the next day. My daughter was disappointed. The place needs a major overhaul: fixtures were broken in front lobby; chair in our room was very dirty and a long brown hair... more
The hotel was pleasant enough. Comfortable beds, hot water. Conveniently located next to a Metro station. The pool is very shallow and cold. There was no caffeinated coffee in the room and food was hard to come by.
Very clean and comfortable...metro subway station right in front of the hotel, can't be any better than this!!! Perfect location to old Montreal or to downtown~ will definately return!!!!
Well, this is not a 4 star hotel. The facilities are average quality. Bathroom shower needed a little bit of extra cleaning-had a bit of mildew in between tiles.Location is great since you're right next to train/bus station. With $7 Canadian you can get anywhere all day long on Metro train. Parking lot is free, and relatively secure since well lit and surrounds the hotel.Hotel staff is very... more
Good location, relatively clean and confortable. Hard to find through GPS. The price is high. USD $100 or below would be appropriate.
My stay was "OK" , trying to get work done on the wifi internet was impossible. No restaurant so get ready to walk to the bus station to eat subways or if you order takeout make sure you have cash.
Free parking is convenient for travelers.
Hotel was decent for the price. However, the hotel internet was so intermittent that it was absolutely worthless. Bad choice if you are trying to use the hotel for business purposes, like I was. I will not stay here again.
The hotel is very close to downtown Montreal and right in front la La Ronde Theme park. The hotel itself is adequate with good service, simple breakfast at a reasonable price. We would recommend the Hotle to anyone looking to visit Montreal.
Terrible odor in room. Long wait for elevator every time. Wi-fi too slow to use.
They were very nice and the hotel was at a metro stop!!!Tres important!!!
The Sandman was an excellent value! The room was well appointed and the bed was quite comfortable. After a long road trip its comfort was well received!! Hotel was luxurious while being extremely reasonably priced.
Pefectly adequate hotel. Good location. Free Parking. Right near the subway. They need to do something about the black mold growing on the bathtub
worried about initially, when we watch a sandman hotel from a one ride from laronde where you saw a whole city from a height. my eight year old daughter said- HEY ITS OUR HOTEL SANDMAN, when we reached there, staff was nice and room was very comfortable and cozy - THANK YOU
I liked the free, secure parking and the access to the subway station just across from the hotel. The rooms were clean, had a coffee machine. I asked for a room that faced the river but was told none of them do (not true as I had one on a previous stay). People were polite and friendly. The only negative was that we were near the ice machine and someone at 5 am for both mornings was noisily... more
Normal hotel. Far away from downtown, but it's literally right next to a metro station so it worked out ok.
Overall, this was a good hotel to stay at for the price. Location was good because of proximity to the highway, and downtown.
The rooms at this hotel are standard but nice and very clean. The staff was wonderful! It was my husband and my first trip to Montreal and we didn't know much about it. The staff was always available to help, gave great suggestion of places to go and restaurant to eat at. The metro being right outside of our door was also very convenient but quiet and inexpensive at the same time. We... more
We come from Hong Kong and stay in Sandman for 1 night. Very good location hotel. Next to the Metro station. Clean and comfortable room. We have 4 people and booked a room with 2 queen-size bed in good price. Free parking. We parked the car in the hotel and buy a all day pass (CAN $7) for the Metro. We go by the Metro to the downtown and MTR in hong kong. Do not drive to the downtown because... more

As others have said, it was very convenient to get from the hotel to Montreal. The free parking was a nice perk, too. Rooms were a good size and clean. Nothing special to look at, but functional for three friends on a budget.
The location is perfect as the Metro Station is right next to the hotel.
Echoing what many others have said, this hotel was perfect for our trip. We needed a homebase on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in order to explore Montréal and especially McGill University. The hotel is terrific - clean everywhere and a friendly staff. The Metro station is right at the door and it is a quick ten minutes to the McGill Metro stop. We were also pleased with the free parking. We... more
THe hotel was very well run, clean, and friendly...the metro stop nearby is really an asset...just jump the metro to hang in the city. For its closeness to the city, the hotel is a good value
This was the second time we stayed at this hotel. We love the location! It is about 500 feet from the Metro station- so you can be in Montreal within minutes to the UQAM station. From there, you can get anywhere the Metro goes. We never had to use our car either time. We were in & out of the city in minutes numerous times each day and it was very convienent to be at this location. The hotel... more
It was nice hotel but away from downtown and there is nothing around the hotel. It is right in front of the subway station so it was convenient to get to downtown but if you miss the last one, the cab ride back is about $20.
This hotel did not meet my expectations and it's definitely not a 4 star hotel (we also stayed at the Sandman in Toronto which was rated to be 3.5 stars but was several times better than the Sandman in Montreal). Shower knob broke and we couldn't stop the hot water for at least 30 min. I overheard a lady (who was a guest) state that her car was stolen from the hotel parking lot and she was... more
hotel was very clean but the front desk was very poor at her job skills.
Everything was great! I'm going to tell all my friends that are going there to stay at this hotel. However, although we booked a smoking room with Orbitz and it appeared on the printout, we had to pay $40 more for each night! None of the other hotels we booked with Orbitz has ever done that when we showed up at their reception desk. Driving, parking and moving around in another hotel in the... more
Drove from upstate NY. There was road work around the area so getting in or out of the parking lot could be a challenge. Convenient on-ramps to autoroutes and traffic is horrible at peak times but just be patient. I read the comments about the hard beds in the hotel; they were fine & comfortable, not luxurious. Property was dated but clean. Hotel restaurant staff was good & friendly.
The hotel is very close to the Metro station and provides free parking. The staff was friendly and informative. The room was basic, but very clean. A good breakfast was available at the hotel for a reasonable cost. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would stay at the Sandman Hotel again!!
Great Great Gr8 Location!! Free parking!!!! :)Metro...25 feet from the hotel entrance...Thats all you need to know!! Book and enjoy and save $$
This is a very nice, clean hotel in a great location. The metro is 30 feet from the front enterance, so if you don't want to deal with finding a parking space you can easily get around. The staff was very helpful and the room was large (we got one of the double queen rooms). The room also had a nice veiw of the city. Although this hotel isn't right in the center of the city, it is still close... more
I wouldn't say I was really impressed but i wouldn't say I was dissatisfied with this hotel. It is however in a great location right next to the Longueuil metro station so getting into the city is extrememly easy. Parking is also free for people staying in the hotel and you end up paying for parking at a lot of the hotels that are in downtown Montreal.
Our stay at this hotel was great. We arrived early, around 11 AM and our our room was actually ready. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was so easy to get in and out of the city because the metro station was in the parking lot. Also there was free parking for guests, and I exchanged money in the lobby for almost no fee. Definitely get the museum/transit pass, or at least a 1-3 day transit... more
Thi hotel is at a great location. Right next to metro station and parking is free. This easily save you 20 to 40 bucks a day. Hotel staff are friendly. We got verything a business of vacation stay needs. The pool is a little too shallow.
Nice place to stay, right on the train line. An easy place to see Montreal from.
Had a great time in Montreal at the Sandsea. They were undergoing renovations on the outside of the hotel, but they kept the noise to reasonable hours of the day, and it wasn't bothersome at all. Excellent front desk helped us with all of our plans. Parking was great, and they were right next the metro for easy access to the city.
