Great place to eat specializing in seafoods. The atmosphere is wonderfull and a great view of the water. Come join us at Rollies.
This place was a staple to people from the North Side area. Always great food and Live music. a Few months ago the placed was CLOSED. it will be missed.
Fun place to watch the local entertainment, but don't ruin the fun by ordering food. Fish and chips is beyond the capabilities of the kitchen. My fish came out oil soaked and soggy, completely inedible. A cool place, just not a good restaurant.
We went because of a recommendation...but to be fair the recommendation was to go for the music which started at 8 pm. We were to tired from traveling, so only had our meal and left. Neither one of us liked our meal and the service was rather poor considering there were only three other tables of customers in the entire... more
We had burger and fish and chips before we boarded the ferry. Nice friendly service and good food. Weather was great so we got to eat outside on deck.
Very nice spot on the water but very old establishment. I had the lobster sandwich which didn't really taste like anything & looked like it was mixed with mayo & thousand island dressing. My husband had fish & chips.... Which were excellent & homemade fries were amazing!
Very good value for money, friendly staff good food and great view from dining area. Local entertainment is great
The food was good if not to write home about. The musical entertainment was something to write home about indeed. Nine fiddle players, a man with a flute, another with a harmonica, a guitarist, and a lady on piano played some fine music. I don't normally eat a desert but I ordered one this time because I wanted to make... more
Went for a night out, there was only 1 other person and it still took forever! Our food was good.. But the servce was not good! Had an empty glass of water for most of my meal. I was going to buy a few
Beer to have with our meal but there was never an opportunity.. Oh and my cutlery...

i can only say that we will never again be back. we were a group of 18 with reservations. there was not a lot to choose from and what was there was terrible. the roast beef an pork was very tough and dried out. Burnt potatoes , horrible pasta and all cold. the desert table was ridiculas, a complete disaster.... more
Arring at a busy time we had to wait with seating and afterwards we were advised that the wait will be long. So we enjoyed the view while having a stroll in the seashore garden. After a day's driving it it did us good. The food was great.
Lots of deep friend fare, nothing is terrible, it just depends on what you're looking for. Their kitchen parties are something everyone should try at least once!
We really thought we were gonna have a better dining experience. Pretty disappointed. My chicken Parmesan was fine, my husband steak looked like it was put through wringer washer, friends fish had no flavor, and other friends fries were soggy in grease and uncooked. Hope should we ever decide to visit again they will take this under advisement and offer... more
Thursday evenings Rollie's is the host of an open music evening. When we were there by 10pm there were 15 fiddle plays plus the piano player. The music was thrilling. Some of the players were just wonderful and others added their bit in excitment and support. It was a great experience.
The food is certainly alright.
The food was plentyfull but just average. Not a gourmet meal if that is what you are looking for you will be disapointed.
If you are in North Sydney on a Thursday night make sure you check out this pub! The local fiddlers come by at around 8:15pm and they put on a great show!! The night we were there about 15 of them showed up including Brenda Subbert (well known Cape Breton fiddler). We were also fortunate enough to meet Otis Tomas... more
The location is ideal, a few minutes walk from the Newfoundland Ferry. The food is acceptable, with a good variety of choices (seafood, steaks, burgers) and fairly priced, but nothing special. Enjoy the view.
I came here with members of my extended family to celebrate my cousin's birthday. We had made a reservation and were seated at a table right by the window so we could partake of the fabulous views. We all ended up ordering the special of the night which was fish and chips and we also ordered mussels and scallops as... more
The food was fine, but the service was very slow. I certainly would go back, but wouldn't rush to do it.
i have to say it was the worst experience i have ever had at a restaurant/bar. i also work in the food and beverage industry, and took my boss and co-workers over to rollie's on our boat. the waitress we had couldn't tell us anything about the specials except it was fish and some kind of sauce- we ordered a... more
Was told this was a great pub restaurant . It sure has a great location , but outside it didn't look that good, and the grounds were a bit shabby . We were determined to give it a try as it was sort of suggested , but if we just drove up , likely would have passed . Now, inside... more
Informal place to drink beer, enjoy the view and eat pub food. On the weekends several different musical groups provide entainment.
Huge restaurant with great food and a lively atmosphere. Local music on tap. Filled to the rafters which is always a good sign
We had a reservation for a birthday party for 15 people that was made well in advance. They did not have the table that was booked when we got there and claimed the reservation was for 6 people. I ordered the strips of sirloin stir fry on rice and a kids cheeseburger and fries. My aunt ordered a steak. The... more
well we went on saturday afternoon,,,,5 people is all that was there and yet our waitress forgot about us after she sat us down,,,didint seem like she should be a waitress and when she did finally get our order, it had hair in it,,,,,but yet we were charged for it,,,,,,i have never had such bad service,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
It's a local bar and it's a good place to spend time if you're younger. I find a lot of younger people are able to get into this place. It has some decent food, but you can ind others around the area if you really want to look around for them.
I enjoyed it, but it wasn't something I am...

Awesome food, Yummy...suggest anyone try it at anytime..nice staff as well.
Our family visited Rollies for a birthday lunch. It was delicious!! The service was excellent and very reasonable pricing. It has an amazing view of the lobster boats coming in the harbour. I didn't realize this gem was so close to us and it is now the place to go for lunch and supper. We had a wrap and fries... more
Good food at reasonable prices and there are often local bands performing.
Everything; good food; service; view;atmosphere. The staff are fantastic; fresh seafood; owners are very socialable and they bring in local music.
it was c@!p and food was so cold.also had roast turkey dinner and had to pay for gravy..went with 15 people and everyone said they wouldn't go back
The music, food and people are great! We enjoyed going there for supper and then listening to the wonder music,,
We went to Rollie's Wharf, on a Thursday night, especially to hear the Celtic music played by visiting musicians. The meals we ordered were fine, though they took quite a while to arrive, as the dining area was crowded. Eventually, the fiddlers and guitarists began, but it impossible to hear them clearly, as loud conversations continued unabated. If the pub... more
i have eaten at this restaurant several times over the past few years, and with the exception of one or two times, would have to say that the food is consistently good pub food - really enjoyed the Alfredo in particular and the fabulous home fries. i do think the service could be improved (the servers are very pleasant and... more
We had an evening meal at Rollie's which was very good, and priced right
I love Rollie's warf they have wikit friendly staff the scenery and the inside is beautiful. The food is amazing and an awesome price it really is the full deal!
My wife and I recently enjoyed 2 very good meals at Rollie's -- despite our initial reluctance to go there given the other reviews posted here. We both chose stir-fry entrees at our first visit and fish and chips at the second; both meals were very good and portions were very generous. Warm gingerbread dessert with caramel sauce was OUTSTANDING.... more
Thursday night about 8 pm is the time to be at Rollie's Wharf. The food and drink are incidental. The treat is the unamplified down east musicians. Some times as many a 25 fiddle players, piano, and a host of other instruments from spoons - accordion - tap dancing in a chair! Playing jigs, reels, waltzes, etc. The range of... more
Had steak and lobster here on my final night in Nova Scotia. Worst meal of my trip, steak was so bland and rubbery I couldn't even eat it, and if it's possible, they managed to screw up the lobster. Terrible atmosphere and terrible food.
The environment inside Rollie's is great, all wood and glass, looking over the harbor and wharf. The waitress was very friendly and the service was great.
The menu was very overpriced and the portions were small. The food wasn't that great tasting either. Salads do not come with garlic bread, which was a surprise to me because of the high...
