The city’s stylish gents breathed a collective sigh of relief when Gastown favourite Roden Gray reopened in new Water Street digs months after shuttering the original Cambie Street store. The concept menswear boutique caters to the neighbourhood’s design-minded men with avant-garde offerings and an in-house personal shopper. Reclaimed Douglas fir logs and Omer Arbel lighting showcase menswear... more
Roden Gray delivers the modern male shopper a powerful combination of style and character. Presenting an avant-garde collection of apparel, shoes, bags, colognes and accessories from such innovative brands as Nice Collective, Obedient Sons, Wings + Horns, Filsen & Comme des Garcons. This place is an understatement and one of the coolest shops to visit. A fair cry from all the other men's... more
Great men's wear collection for those who love luxury, edgy, and style. They carry incredible up and coming designers like Alexander Olch.
Sales reps are really friendly and not pushy.
However, gift wrapping and bag could improve. For a luxury store, it's all about the experience: from beginning to the end.
I went to Roden Gray and the costumer service was great! Kyle did an amazing job in helping me to find some really nice clothes and he was super friendly! Such a great store! I will be back for sure!
I came in today looking for an overcoat. The staff member that helped me, Natsumi, if I heard her name right, was friendly, very knowledgeable, attentive, and showed me a variety of coats that fit what I was looking for. I found a coat that fit wonderfully, but is quite a bit beyond my usual price range, and she was happy to put it on hold for me for a week while I think about it. Even if I... more
Easily the best men's store in Vancouver. The selection of brands is great, but the customer service and store design is consistently excellent. I visited the store 4 times over the course of a month and each time the store layout was different to highlight different pieces. Even more impressive was one of the staff remembering my name on my second visit.
They have a number of brands that are...

What an incredible men's clothing store.
The selection was incredible as were the styles and options. The buyer for the store did an amazing job finding such amazing pieces by known and up-and-coming designers. The pricing is a bit on the high side, but you also get what you pay for and you're sure to walk out of the store with a piece you won't see on everyone else.
Impeccable clothing for impeccable men. Meticulous merchandising for a meticulous client.
Roden Gray has long been *the* boutique for menswear in Vancouver - the wisp of black leather from a classic Alden boot, the line of a perfectly crisp shirt... despite the fact that they've gained approval from such high caliber brands, the staff are never pretentious and always helpful. A welcome...

One of my fav shops in Vancouver for sure. I really appreciate that their sales people are not pushy and are never snobby. Viktoria is always very helpful and always has great recommendations for me. Its nice to visit a store that engages you in conversation and always makes you feel welcome. Thanks for providing such great clothing and great service Roden Gray!
boutique men's store, with boutique pricing. where you go in vancouver if you want to buy clothing by apc, band of outsiders, gitman bros, comme de garcon, w+h, yeah those brands. every time I'm in there I wish I had more $$
A new location, another new experience.
Hardwood floors, simple layouts, spacious, just what a Roden Gray store should be.
They have recently moved to a much larger space, and it's much better laid out as well. The whole shopping experience flows. There's also a basement downstairs that carries all their jeans selection, and I must say, quite a good men's jeans variety.
Now if only all guys...

Update: This place is history.
"Meh. I've experienced better."
I heard all the hype from the comments below (too good to be true?) and was so excited to see this place for myself. What a disappointment. Now it looks like there may be potential for a very specific consumer but it offered nothing for me. The items that I liked were either (a) size XXS; (b) XXL; or (c) $300. Dude, even at 50%...

Love this place. One of my favorites in Vancouver I discovered while visiting last year. Great labels like Wings+Horns, Band of outsiders, Nice collective etc. I see that they are stocking Generic Man shoe now, which are fantastic. The shop itself is worth a visit even if your not in the mood to plunk down some $. Very thoughtfully put together. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Gastown's newest addition is Roden Gray, a under stated, hip store carrying avant-garde to mainstream styles for the modern man. Here, you'll be able to find some hard to find labels such as Comme des Garcons, Feiyue Footwear, Wings+Horns and one of my favorites, Nice Collective.
It's nice to see a broad range of products in the store that is identifiably unique. Owners Rob Lo (also from Dutil...

The mildly disgruntled murmurs from male shoppers as they meander Robson Street is quiet but audible. Overrun with mid-range to high-end boutiques that cater almost exclusively to women, the choices for menswear are few and far between. Aside from the denim at Bluenotes and the conservative cuts at retailers like Banana Republic and Mexx, Robson Street holds little appeal to those with more... more
Finally!!! Roden Gray delivers the modern male shopper - a powerful combination of style and character.
I have been waiting for this kind of store to finally catch on. Vancouver is full of little quirky retailers strictly for the woman... not any more. I heard rumors of this place and felt I needed to check it out for myself.
first star: The decor. Things are dark. The fixturing is unique,...
