Restaurant de cuisine Italienne moderne
This is my favorite restaurant. The food is delicious.I love the lambchops, the seafood, the Vino Verde and the Nata do Ceu is the most amazing desert! The atmosphere is relaxed and the people there are so nice.
Typical portuguese restaurant, with all the colors and decorations. the food was alright, but abit too expensive. average of 25$ a plate.
Have been to this friendly restaurant so many times because they make it special every time.
The food is great and at reasonable value. Our friends and family enjoy the relax pace and the friendly staff there because they care about how they service you and make you feel welcome.
I have brought many clients and they also loved it.
Went to Casa Minhota for lunch with a friend. Reasonable price of $20 for a soup, main meal, coffee and desert. Homemade Soup, Portugese style. Excellent main meal of cod with a beautiful sauce. Calamari were also very good. We got the same accompaniment of boiled potatoes and steamed brocoli which was just like it sounds like which is not... more
Instead of waiting in line @ Schwartz's, paying too much @ Moishe's, try this homey quality resto.
Very good value, selection, reasonable wines from Portugal, and friendly helpful service. Lunch specials are worth the trip, as well as fish, seafood, and grilled meats.....try the varied appetizers.
A good transition for those back from an enjoyable trip to Lisbon, Algarve Porto...

Camarao Picante
-
I ordered the Camarao Picante, and was shocked when I received the dish: for $17.75 I got six shrimp in a bowl of spicy sauce, and a small bowl of rice. I wish I had known I would get so little food; I would have ordered something more substantial. The food was still delicious, though not filling.
I must say I am surprised by the number of bad reviews here. My husband and I ate here on a Monday evening without a reservation on the recommendation of the hotel concierge, who was Portuguese. The atmosphere is bright and homey. The tables quickly filled with locals shortly after our arrival. We were served water right away as well... more
I've been going here since I was a child and I always leave satisfied! I never go without having the Caldo Verde! Some of my other favorites Carne de Porco Alentejana and the spicy shrimp.
We love Portuguese Food but felt that this place was overpriced and service was one of the worst we encountered in the city. You can better options in Montreal (either fish or chicken). Food was ok (appetizers & fish) but deserts were uninspiring which is surprising with Portuguese Food.
Unfortunately, the service really destroyed the whole experience. Even if the...

Some people may say that service is a bit slow, totally wrong! If you are in a RUSH let them know because most people that go there are to relax and enjoy a good easy going meal and drinks. We love this place because of this that they make you feel at home. The starters are great Grill Calamara, Octopus,... more
Classic Portuguese food, traditionally served, at prices far below other restaurants with similar theme elsewhere in Montreal. For a treat, book a table on a Saturday or Sunday -- suckling pig prepared on weekends -- it is fabulous. But book -- the place is packed with families -- and not four or six people per famiglia, but twenty!

I live in Montreal and I freequent Casa Minhota. The food is consistently good and the service is friendly. I highly recomend the fillet mignon on a hot stone (cooked at your table) as well as the mixed grill plate. The house wine is also surprisingly good. For desert the pear stewed in white port should not be missed.
Service is excrusingly slow. Food is great!
Looking for a bit of an insider restaurant in Montreal, I was suggested Casa Minhota. Not a big fan of Portuguese food, I thought I would give it a shot anyways, not without a little of apprehension.
But what a surprise! The two waiters were great, very talkative and open to cenversation, very impressive knowledge of their menu, and their...

My most recent visit to Minhota (May 30, 2010) was a great disappointment. I had enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, in general, on two prior occasions. On this visit, our entrees (a paella and steak with fried potatoes) were mix of good and bad elements. But the worst aspect was the indifferent and perfunctory service. After taking our orders,... more
Service was a bit slow but the food was delicioous, well priced and decent portions
Bon restau familial, cuisine portugaise maison, excellente sangria, ambiance chaleureuse et la meilleure paella et les meilleurs plats de viandes en ville! Obrigada!
On a mothersday, the food was excelent but the service was excruciatingly long.
This restaurant gets a 5 for charming friendly good service and ambience....the shrimps also get 5 stars...but unfortunately the Charbroiled COD - which is supposed to be a portugese speciality was tough, and sitting in a sauce that tasted something similar to BUTTER. Bland and not very flavourful. Nor were it's accompaniments. The cabbage soup (another speciality) was also pretty... more
Excellent restaurant portuguais!
Excellent sea food and fish. Price range 30$/person. Wine a bit pricy but excellent.
Absolutely delightful restaurant! The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. The service was exceptional, and we appreciated the waiter's knowledge of Portuguese wines and desserts. We would most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and plan on returning often.
Continuez votre excellent travail .
I went to this restaurant with friends for my birthday and was extremely disappointed with the service. It took them 45 minutes to bring us our drinks, then 45 minutes for our appetizers and over an hour to bring us our food once the appetizers were finished. When we asked the waiter when the food would be ready he frankly told us whenever the cook was ready to make it - could be 10 minutes,... more
