excellent service and outstanding view

We stopped by in the late afternoon for snack. Had a wide choice of tables on the outdoor patio - both in the sun or shade. Unlike many other places, chairs are extremely comfortable with arms and comfortable seat cushions - a real cut above most patio furniture in restaurants.

New name. Looks promising. Great patio on water. Nice menu but food failed to deliver. Shrimp appetizer was cooked perfectly but failed on sauce. Promised Pernod cream with asiago. Tasted like salty cheese sauce not a hint of Pernod. Yuk. Had nicely cooked baseball steak but again failed on sauce. How can a chef fail peppercorn sauce? Bannoffee pie also... more

Regatta is Gone - Replacement Not etter

The Regatta went out of business and a new operator has taken over. Service was OK but food was mediocre. We arrived for an early dinner (5:30). Staff was still cleaning the place for about 45 minutes after we arrived. Wasn't overly clean.

Regatta Steak & Seafood Grille was closed

Regatta was closed in Feb 2012. New restaurnt "Dock of the Bay", was openned July. Excellent food and freindly service, also music on weekend!

Great great food. Service needs plenty of work. But I am sure they will sort things out. The Pasta i had was very good. I did ask to be able to bring my own wine but they could not accede to the request as they wee not licensed for that yet.

The restaurant is closed

Went for lunch April 17, 2012 with an Open Table reservation only to discover restaurant has been closed for non payment of rent. Neither the proprietors or Open Table notified us and we drove 30 miles to get to the place

Sit Down Dinner

The Lobster we had was suppose to be fresh and when it arrived it was tough and we could tell it was frozen and thawed out . We asked the server who told us it was to be fresh and she went to ask came back and stated sorry it was frozen and thawed. We have not been back since... more

Delicious and Relaxing

We wanted a delicious, relaxing meal, and we were not disappointed. The fireplace was lit and the atmosphere was great. The roasted garlic and spinach dip appetizer was to die for. Terrible

The best thing about Regatta is the view. The food is overcooked, overseasoned and bland. A steakhouse should be able to cook a M/R steak? Vegetables were of the frozen type and potatoes a packaged mash. For these prices it should be way better. The service is far too casual. Never again.

While the food and view is always good at Regetta, we were extremely disappointed with the level of service we received this weekend. Despite having a reservation, the restaurant was unable to seat our party for over an hour. They also continuusly sat other groups (who didn't even have a reservation) before us. The manager did not seem to care and offered no compensation for the inconvience.

We were celebrating a special occasion and were not disappointed!!! We sat on the patio overlooking the lake at sunset which was amazing...so was the live music. we always enjoy Regatta, we were there for my husbands birthday two weeks ago, in for drinks another night and a business lunch this week. we love it.

This was our second visit to the Regatta and we were not disappointed! Hubby and I had prime rib which absolutely melted in our mouths. The server was friendly, attentive, and kept our drinks topped up. A Romanic dinner with a view

We had a lovely dinner on the patio over looking the water. The food was excellent and there was live entertainment which made the evening even more enjoyable. We captured a beautiful muskoka sunset as we enjoyed our dinner. A perfect combination.

Good Food, Great Service, Lovely View

We came with an extended family of 13 - including 7 children. They were both lovely and accommodating. The kids food was served quickly, and was of excellent quality. The adult meals were all delicious, and the view was spectacular. Finally, after many years, we are getting some good restaurants in Muskoka! All in all, definitely recommended.

The Regatta is the best of the best in Gravenhurst and you won't break the bank enjoying an evening here. Great service,great food and a great view. They went the extra distance to accommodate our food allergies. Would have been perfect if it had not been for a few patrons who have no consideration about bringing young-loud children to a mainly adult oriented dining atmosphere.

A superb night

Me and my family went last year and it was fantastic, the starter was huge but lovely, then had steak which was very very nice, and the service was good.
It was pricey but you pay for quality food and service!
Would defiantly go back when I visit Canada again!!

It is pricey and wasn't all that good, to be honest. Nice and friendly staff but highly over priced in my opinion. I've definitely had better at a cheaper price.
