i love superstore... so fun! Deals to be had all over the place and unlike shopping for clothes (which hangs up untouched in my closet), shopping for food means I can eat it! and do other fun things like chef it up with it...!
The apple pie at this location..... *kiss fingers*. So good. I'd get one, if I were you.
By far, the worst Real Canadian Superstore in Canada. It's often dirty, lack of items is extremely common, bare shelves typical, few staff around so that in part is why stock is not replenished. They don't have items at sale prices like with their sister, No Frills, only some.
Crowds and long waits very, very common. Employee attitude is also poor and morale low. Avoid if at all possible....

I was in this store on a Sunday night and it was not at all busy. Some items were missing (cleared out by 11 o'clock). The reason I'm not giving this place 4 stars is because of the Inhumane way the treat the live fish.
Always full of stuff, seasonal and regular with prices so competitive that it made target to rum away from canada
This location is ok. Though many other reviewers complain about crowding in this Superstore, I consider it pleasantly packed (full disclosure: I spent the last six years living in Manhattan) as compared with empty - the vibe many stores in Canada seem to evoke.
Price range is inexpensive for what is being sold. I was disappointed in their electronic section because it was very poorly labeled...

I'm not happy with this place. Awhile ago, I was shopping and found that their contacts solution was $14.99 on sale, so I grab two. When I get to the cashier and they scan it, it comes up as $19.99. I notice this and tell the cashier. She gets the price checker, and after a long wait, the price checker comes back and confirms that it is indeed labeled as $14.99. Apparently it was on sale... more
the place is always overcrowded, and difficult to navigate your cart around large families who fail to watch where they're going.
Line ups are long, and you're always in a rush to bag your own groceries while the people behind you state at you apprehensively.
They sometimes have a rebate promotion with Pepsi foods- but they change the scan codes, so when you submit the rebate to Pepsi, the upc...

I hate the Metrotown Superstore. First of all, it's in Metrotown. If I could easily get to the Grandview location, I would, but unfortunately the Metrotown location is easiest for me to get to via transit.
Second of all, the people who shop there aggravate me to no end. Sure, this is not the store's fault, but it adds to the unpleasant experience of shopping there. The last time I was there, a...

The Metrotown location is always packed with long line ups, they always seem to be understaffed and only have all the cash registers open on weekends.....
For a central location (in Metrotown) and all the foot traffic they get they should really know by now to have enough people working both on the floor and the registers to create a better customer experience.
I find that produce here is not...

Quite possibly the dirtiest, most disorganized, poorly run store I've seen!!!!
1) Dirty, unkempt aisles
2) Produce, mangled, understocked
3) Only 2 manned check-outs (out of 20?) at any given time. Insane line-ups!!!!!
4) The most unintuitive self-checkout menus ever conceived!!!! Rather than spell out items in the menu they group them - You have to know that a pineapple is a common fruit?...

I got everything what I expected from this store.
No service except for the cashier and low prices.
They did not disappoint. It's a big box retailer/grocer known for very low prices and a lot of customers.
The place was organized, neat for a Saturday Evening, and I got out surprisingly fast.
The only reason I didn't give this place 1 star is that it has good prices, but that's just standard for any Superstore.
This particular location is the WORST. It's at the far end from the skytrain of already the busiest mall in Vancouver, and it's certainly the busiest superstore. There's about 3 feet of space between the isles and the cashiers so it's almost impossible to move a cart through...

They have an incredible selection - if you are looking for it, they probably have it. The prices are generally great as well.
However, it does have its downsides. As others have said, this place is a zoo. It's always packed and the lines can be killer (even for the self checkout). However, it is relatively clean and organized for such a large store - it's certainly improved in this respect,...

Long line ups.. even for express lines/ self check outs.
One particular worker had earphones in (while working!!) so loud that I was standing a few feet away and could hear it... and he didn't respond to the requests of other customers, simply ignored them. Not professional at all! He even dropped a full box of stock on top of my foot and grunted and walked away - no apology, nothing...?!?

I hate this Superstore at the best of times.
Located in the craziest, busiest mall around, this location is constantly packed to the rafters with other shoppers, and if their buggy maneuvering is any indication of their driving skills, I'm sure glad I'm not on the road. Definitely do not come here if a little 'in and out' grocery stop is what you're hoping to accomplish, because the lines are...

I have a love hate relationship with this Superstore and only go when I really have to when I can't find anything at my Extra Foods. They have an organic/gluten free section that is bigger than the Extra Foods by my house, therefore, when desperation calls. I grin and bare it when it comes to coming here. It's not so much about the store that makes me sour is that it is the other patrons that... more
This Superstore has been around for some 20 years (ever since what was formally called Eatons Centre opened), and it's been one giant war zone since. The location pretty much serves all of Burnaby, so be sure to have a nice strong set of elbows. And stomping boots.
Parking is available in the Metropolis lot both in front (outside), and underground in 2 levels. Doesn't matter where you go. It's...

I love the Superstore. If you have read any of my grocery store reviews, then you know now much I like things cheap and good. Superstore is just the right place for people like me. This locations isn't all that bad, but I had to give this store a 3 star due to the cashier, Nafisa. When the three of us got to her in line, she gave us no smile, no greeting, no thank you, no nothing. My friend in... more
I don't go to superstore that often (every other month may be...), I can find most items I want at Costco and a bit cheaper.
So busy and packed at Metrotown location.
If you want to get a good deal at superstore, better check on weekly flyer.
Oh Stupidstore.....oops....I mean Superstore ;0)
Yes, lineups can be stupid long, shelves are often ransacked by the mobs during peak hours and weekends, customer service is non-existent, c@!%!y produce....blah blah blah, everyone knows that.....but hey, there are also real good reasons why people love this place so much.
Superstore has everything -- yeah, every frickin' thing. It contains a...

I just moved back to town and am looking for a grocery store to call my own. You know, one you feel comfortable in and more importantly one that carries everything you like. I had been down to Metrotown a few days in the last month and the Superstore always looked crazy busy. I thought it best to avoid, until today.
I had some time to kill and I wanted to stock up on toilet paper, which...

Hmm.. I never been to one, but this one was part of the mall. It seems to be what Target and Walmart seems to be.
They had a huge diverse selection of things, as those stores mentioned.
Lines can get long!!!
Meh.
Selection is not as great as the renovated Superstores at Grandview and Marine Drive. This is one is kind of cramped and dirty. A lot of things are often sold out. Honestly, buy your produce at T & T downstairs (but bananas, eggs, and basic groceries are much cheaper at Superstore).
When you need to line up for the cashier, bring a crossword puzzle. You're not going anywhere soon. Good...

First and foremost, like any other corporation, Superstore is really only interested in satisfying their investors. So having said that, quality of products is not a concern and thus you see rotten produce all the time (pretty much anywhere). Superstore is only interested in the profit at the end of the day. Lack of service is management team's fault and I believe they get bonuses for giving as... more
One of my most favorite things to do is grocery shop I know crazy right!? I love Superstore in general but this location is my least favorite. The layout is horrible and the checkout lines are AWAYs long, no matter what time of day you go. No really! I only enter this location if I know exactly what I need. One cool thing is during Christmas holidays they are often open 24hours, and I find if... more
Giving three stars mostly on the amount of stuff they have. Real Canadian Superstore has a feel of a wholesale store without having to buy products in bulk. Though they seem to have larger packages of some items.
The store is primarily a grocery, though there is a drugstore area and an electronics section. It is kind of like the Canadian equivalent of the Washington chain, Fred Meyer.
But it...

OMG if you ever want to experience the Apocolypse live, this StupidStore is the place. If you've checked out some of my previous reviews than you'll know that I love food and I love cooking so obviously doing groceries is tied quite tightly to this. I have a love/hate relationship with this particular Superstore.
On the one hand it's convenient, I can find almost everything I need under one roof, prices are reasonable, and the hours are kind to people with 9-5 jobs like myself. On the other hand, coming here gives me ulcers.
Now I'm no supermarket pansy - I'm a Crystal Mall veteran, so really any "white" supermarket should be a cake walk...

This Superstore location gives me anxiety and grief. I always need to ask myself, do I really need to be here or should I just drive to another location? I have no grievance against Superstore itself just this freaking location. Their prices are decent on most... more
I hate crowds and always try to not go grocery shopping during their peak hours, - from 5:30PM-7:30PM. Ugh.. torture for me.
However, if I do have to go to Superstore and it is during the non peak hours, I like the fact that I can park in the 15min zone. I know what I want, go in, grab it and out the door! The prices are usually a lot less than other grocery store chains and I like the...

This in particular is the worst superstore I've ever been to.
I love superstore. I love the fact that I can buy a week or more of groceries for my fiance and it costs me less than 100$. With the exception of a few items (eg cream cheese or mayo), the no-name stuff is just as good as most of the name brand products for a couple of dollars cheaper.

So, I complained, and Superstore changed one aspect of their policy with their produce. Superstore has a discount section for their spoiled, rotten, and moldy produce, and they're all at a discount of 50% off. Is it a good thing? Anyone who plans to go to the Metrotown Superstore, be prepared for all out war. A combination of the busiest mall in the GVR, and also the busiest supermarket is going to bring one thing = crowds. There is nothing the manager can do about the long line ups, the inconsiderate customers, or the fact that most people seem completely unable to use the self check out machines, and those are what make shopping at this particular location at times unbearable, as you stand in line carrying a basket of grocerys in arm for an hour as 3 or 4 customers check out 30 items in the express lane,... more
Great selection of items. They do seem to have a problem keeping items in stock. The check out lines are always long. The prices seem reasonable and the location is large. i recommend if you're looking to save money.
I love Superstore and it is the main place i do my grocery shopping. I mean you cannot beat their prices and selection. The meats are awesome and so is the choices. They have everything. The prices are always good at any Superstore but this one is just too busy. I would honestly pay money to not have to deal with the twelve thousand people in this store at any given moment. This location is pretty okay. I mean, it's well known you don't go to Superstore for fresh produce unless you have to or unless they have a sale on strawberries, mangoes, or mini mandarin oranges (or is it?). The bakery products are okay. Their dairy section is alright. Sometimes it...

In general, I am a fan of the Real Canadian Superstore mainly because of the prices and selection of items. What I am not a fan of is the madness that ensues at this particular Superstore location all of the time!
