, moved from a bad hotel, the staff let us book in before check-in time-very helpful as we had two children with us. The room was very pleasent, clean and checked every day. The staff were really ..."
My friendsI and camped out in banff for 2 weeks. One week into our trip we stopped in calgary for the night. (rain in the mountains). One of my buddies forgot a bag in the closet with brand new shoes in it. We remebered 2 days later ..."
Positive: it was quiet and the pool was great. Negative: The continental breakfast is not really good. Not a lot of fruits to choose from, coffee is disgusting and no whole wheat bread. We looked under the beds and there was old bottles ..."
First of all some of the things people expect from hotels is rediculous! I have been staying at the quality inn University for 5 years whenever I visit Calgary which is an average of 4 time or more a year! Awesome, Clean, Good Staff, NEVER SEEN BUGS OR ANYTHING! nice pool side rooms with great little set up! I love... more
The TV in the room is outdated and does not deliver a good quality picture. Also it is too small for the size of the room. However the complimentary breakfast was very good. Nice variety
The Staff was very freindly and accommodating. The rooms where clean, but dated. We stayed the weekend with my sons hockey team. The continental breakfast was an asset as we had early morning games( could have used a better toaster). I would recommend this hotel to anybody traveling with a sports team, as we were treated fairly. Unlike some hotels.
Stayed at this hotel on a saturday night. Got a room beside the pool area. Room was fine, clean, well furnished etc. Major problem was noise coming from the pool area when people decided to stay up and visit while stitting beside the pool. Noise from the talking and laughing was easily heard in my room and kept me up.... more
The room was acceptable, but the internet they offer is very poor. Most of the time you can't connect, or if you do get on, it's difficult to check even email, and this activity may boot you out of their internet system. Not recommended for travelers who need to access corporate email to keep in touch with their office located outside of the country.
Not the best of values. Quality was sub par and staffing was inadequate. Room included a continental breakfast consisting of toast, cereal, milk, juice, coffee/tea, pastries and waffles. Rooms are small and old. Recommend against staying here while in Calgary (both short and long-term). There are better places ffor a little bit more (eg. + $20-$35) (eg. Coast, Delta, Holiday Inn, Best Western,... more
Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Quality Inn University. We were attending a dance workshop at the U of C, so the location of this hotel was perfect. Our room was a little dark, and I don't love staying on the main floor of a hotel. We had an "emergency door" to the outside, which I didn't exactly... more
Nice hotel, it was your basic Quality Inn. The room was crowded with a large king size bed. It looks as if the hotel had been remodeled in the past. It's located in hotel village very near the LRT train station. Really safe neighborhood. Right hotel for the price. He hotel has FREE and safe onsite parking. Oh, about 1... more
We were looking for a moderately priced hotel with free wi-fi and this seemed to be in the location we needed and the price was right. We reserved a room with two double beds. When we arrived at the room, we saw two doors on opposite sides of the room, both opening to hallways. There was no exterior window. The... more
This hotel was lovely for a two night stay while we were out most of the day. The room was clean and nice and the front desk people were extremely accomodating. If you were looking to spend a week long vacation in Calgary I would go closer to the city and stay someplace a little nicer but for a quick... more
Not a bad place to stay, clean and comfortable-but pretty 80's. But the website's version and the reality of this place are totally different. The pool is actually pretty small, and the "fitness centre" is a treadmill and a bike in a closet sized room. The restaurant is decent but the hours are lame, 9:00pm closed on a saturday night!... more
When choosing a Hotel to accommodate me on a business trip, like many others I researched the different Hotels in Calgary on the internet. Having done quite a lot of business on the internet and building websites for various companies I decided to stay with the Major named hotels thinking that I would be safe. I chose the Quality Inn at an area called "Motel Village" mainly because the... more
Another weird little place to stay.... First, underground parking is not connected to the building. Second, there are doors to the outside on the main floor, but you can't use them. Third, there really isn't any room service, but the thai restaurant on location is pretty darn good. (They supposedly just prepare all the burgers in advance, so you can't... more
I stayed here with my husband & 4 year old son for a week & it was great! It was very clean throughout, and the staff were really helpful, friendly & happy. We stayed in a room with 2 queen beds in, and all the facilities were as stated. It's abit hot & stuffy in the room though, there's air... more
Could not have picked a better hotel, moved from a bad hotel, the staff let us book in before check-in time-very helpful as we had two children with us. The room was very pleasent, clean and checked every day. The staff were really helpful not just in the hotel but told us how to get around Calgary. In house restaurant... more
My stay at the quality inn was very nice. I arrived there at midnight and checked into my room it was nice except 1 lightbulb was out on bedlamps and movie on demand wasnt working. Later at 130 i phoned and said it wasnt working and they offered me a new room on 2nd floor after they looked for problem.... more
We chose this motel because of it's location and from that perspective were not disappointed. We had an appointment at the Foothills hospital and it was in close proximity. When I made the booking, I advised the staff that my husband is disabled. We had an executive suite on the second level because I wanted my husband to have easy access to the large bath tub. We were unimpressed with... more
What a fantastic place to stay! Located across the street from public transportation, close to other hotels and great restaurants. I was a little skepticle at first as I read some of the other reviews. I already had a reservation- so I thought I would keep it, and very glad I did! The staff is very friendly always greeted you... more
On the website, the Quality Inn looked like a nice place to stay. The website stated that the restaurant was under construction, failing to mention that the entire hotel was in a state of disrepair. Since we opted to pay cash for our room, we were told that a $100 deposit would be required at time of check-in. We needed... more
We were their in February, it was a great dissepointmend. One big construction, nothing seems to work like it should work. It was dirty and dust averywhere you looked. Breakfast at 7 am we were still having breakfast after noon, it was terrible. We had a renovated room, you don't want to see the rooms that were not renovated. Furneture was... more
We stayed here for our last night, having spent the rest of the visit at the Hampton next door (much better!!) as they were full. The reception staff were probably the best thing. Although we had the suite, it was dingy. It was clean and the jacuzzi was lovely to be fair. However, how the other reviewer can say that... more
This hotel is under renovations until March 31, 2006. The only notice of this before we checked in was a very small notification on the website I booked from. Once we were checked in, we discovered that the entire hotel was in pieces. The pool, sauna, hottub, gym, and resteraunt were all under construction and not open. Electrical panels in... more
We stayed one night of the two we booked only because I had a course to take at SAIT and no time to move to another hotel. This place was terrible. The lights didn't all work. The room was small and dingy. We had been told there were some renovations happening what an understatement. The whole place is covered in... more
I have stayed at many downtown hotels and quite honestly you are paying a higher rate beacause of the location. This hotel is close to the public train station which made it very convienent, I caught the train and I was in downtown in a matter of 10 minutes. This hotel has the best staff and it is the nicest... more
Located in "Motel Village" this one has a few features that make it stand out among the many in the area. First is the very large indoor atrium/pool area. Clean, spacious, and quiet, the area is a great break after a long drive esp during the colder months. Second, rooms are comfortable and reasonably spacious as well. Both motel style... more
I went for the free breakfast today in the area next to the pool. To my surprise, I saw two cockroaches running around the floor. Beware, this place is not clean!
We had reservations for a queen room. Upon arriving at the motel the Desk advised us that because of the recent flooding of the area they were putting up many evacuees. They wondered if we would mine not having a queen room but instead taking a suite at the same price. We accepted their offer and found that the suite... more
We arrived after driving all night much earlier than the normal check in time, and Kim, the manager, was very accomodating and had us checked in within a few minutes and NO extra charge! The government rate was very reasonable. The food in the restaurant was lovely, and the service there was great with one exception ( I believe there... more
