Pushap is a really inexpensive Indian Restaurant...everything is vegetarian and quite tasty. For less than $10 a person, you can eat really well and get a good taste of the great dishes on the menu. The Bhatura, a fried flat bread is excellent.
The restaurant is small, and always busy, and crowded, but they manage to serve everyone in a fairly timely manner.
Definitely worth checking out.
I could eat the delicious samosas until Inwas full! The food here is good and so inexpensive. A great place for vegetarian Indian food, a samosa and vegetarian plate is about $7 and I ncludes your choice of a sweet from the many varieties they always have at the front counter. Nothing fancy here, but the food is always tasty... plus
I know this place since 20 years, I never got disappointed, always excellent food and service. Best samosas and pakoras in Mtl. The Take out is quick and practical. I love this place.
I love this place. I come here at lease once a month to get my fix of Indian food.
I usually take the Thali. This comes with two veggies and a choice of chick peas or lentils. It's served with rice and choice of non-fried or fried nan bread. Both are great.
The veggies change daily. I have had most...

I love Indian food and have had it all over Montreal and South-Shore, Pushap is by far the best and cheapest vegetarian restaurant so far, everything is authentic!...The owner is friendly and always fast at serving his customers.
Highly recommended!
Title says it all. I love Indian food, which was admittedly my main motivation to go India a few years ago. The food served at Pushaps is fantastic and extremely authentic -- nothing has satisfied my tastebuds and wallet like the stuff that comes out of this kitchen! I never look at the menu, I get the thali every time... plus
I was going to write about Pushap the first time I had dinner there as it was wonderful. Decided to go a second time and then write a review.
Both times were great! We went last Sunday evening around 7:30. As it was kind of late to eat heavy we decided on Pushap. I think one of the best ways...

I've been going to this place for almost 20 years now but it has been going down in my opinion.
I've always taken the thali plate whiich is very cheap (6 $) but in the last visits I find everything is too oily and greasy and VERY hard to digest.
I can just imagine the cheap oils they use...

They have renovated this restaurant which makes it a little less authentic though much smarter. All used to be worn smooth in the manner of many such places in India, by the massive press of hungry humanity. I did not take in the Toilet on this trip but I remember it as being most authentic too.Montreal loos in February look... plus
Good homecooked Indian meals - two amply fed for under ten dollars if you get the Thali...
Friendly service, huge assortment of sweets (yuk - but lots of people like them).
We tried out Pushap for lunch and were not disappointed, especially on taste and value.
We were pleasantly greeted and served some very tasty dishes. Samosas and pakoras are quite good. The Eggplant Bharta is wonderful and the Aloo Gobi is very good. A good variety of breads too. So much food for so little $, with no room left...

The food and value is amazing! The environment clumzy and very crowded.
Not the best place to invite friends or family.
The bathroom is the worst place, very dirty and no maintenance, this is an indication of cleanless, how is the food? And the person who is making the food.
Questions comes to mind is e-coli, h pilori, diarrhea etc....

Just had lunch here recently, after not visiting in a long time. Nothing has changed! But that's a good thing :-) If you order the basic lunch plate, you get several different but simple vegetarian dishes, with rice and a small naan bread. Add a samosa if you are starving. Food is served up quickly, and the price is amazing... plus
My friend and I have been coming here frequently for 6 years, the food and value are amazing! The environment is homey bohemian usually with Indian music playing in the background, and might not be the best place for a fancy date or high maintenance clients. The place, in general, and the bathrooms in particular, could be cleaner. Having said... plus
Small restaurant, close to Decarie expressway and metro (subway) on Pare. Extremely reasonable prices, friendly staff and authentic tastes. One of the best values is the thali plate at under six dollars. The Dal/lentil soup is thick and tasy. we also enjoyed the chana samosa. The staff do not try to oversell too many dishes, so overall a very satisfying... plus
I have been enjoying Pushap for many, many years. I can't remember the first time I visited but it must be over 20 years ago. At first I discovered the West Island location. Once I discovered the location on Paré I was hooked.
For me Pushap is authentic India. Not the India of the grand hotels such as the Oberoi...

A true find - vegetarian Indian in an obscure location with marvelous spicy appetizer and great desserts. Not your typical place and very very well priced
We went there on a recommendation. True enough, the food was amazing and very well priced. BUT, the place is unkempt: shoddy-- rickety furniture and the general environment NOT clean. (A Total Turn-off) Take some pride in your business people!!! It's a popular place-- the food is great; put some effort on the cleanliness of the place and you've got... plus
Pros: I've been going to Pushap for quite a few years. The thali always left me satisfied with a warm tummy! There is something about their spices, which is just the right amount, not too strong, not too bland. Their desserts are so fresh and soft, I've yet to find better Indian sweets in Montreal.
Cons: In terms of the...

Eat here all the time in Montreal. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Try the samosas!
I eat at both Pushap regularly and I love them both. The people on Sources need a shout out too! These folks love food and it shows in the cooking. I drive about 10km from my hotel when in MTL just to get the panner with onions & masala. It is all veg but you will not walk away hungry,... plus
great food, very flavorful and well made! love the eggplant stew ( can't remember the name).
only problems, even though they love kids (all staff comes to say hi to our toddler whenever we go), they don't have high chairs.
What a sweet restaurant. It really opens the appetite right up.
I love this place! A family run restaurant. They serve wonderful food. It’s cheap and healthy. There isn’t any meat. The deserts are amazing. The service can be slow, but they are generous and down to earth. And they are very personable and generous!
wonderful! mix of dishes.
Good and authentic Indian food. The business is too good and the service is a bit slow as a result.
My random thoughts regarding Pushap:
-The restaurant is not very clean and is very badly ventilated.
-Small place with very old furniture
-Better suited for students trying to find a cheap meal
-The desert had a bitter taste and took away my appetite.
-The samosas taste good and are cheap, but you could only eat so many before you get...

My favorite East Indian restaurant in Montréal, as weel as my favorite restaurant, period.
Why? Price, tastiness, portions, friendly family & multi-cultural ambiance... call me cheesy, but i somehow find it quite exotic!
I find the few cons are its location in an industrial area, its cheesy decor & lack of cleanliness in the bathrooms. Still the pros quickly eclipse...

They have good samosas there
Excellent. Pas cher, sympa, bien fait. Pourrait devenir un "favourite". J'y retournerai.
real authentic delicious vegetarian indian food
Vegetarian, very good, very inexpensive. The daily special is the best deal in town.
Amazing, inexpensive vegetarian Indian restaurant. Very unpretentious, no decor, packed at lunch time. Really good sweets to take out, too.
Extremelly affordable & tasty vegetarian indian food. Best samosas in town. Also try the vast variety of sweets.
really affordable, delicious vegetarian indian food and sweets
cheap tasty samosas, sold to go by your student society of choice.
Very tasty indian vegetarian meals for a ridiculous price. Friendly staff.
Mmmmm. Great Vegetarian Indian food for awesome price
Delicious and spicy vegetarian Indian food. Family owned and inexpensive. Amazing sweets. Has been in business for over 30 years.
