Bad food. Bad price. My bill of just over $40 included a steak sandwich and side ceaser salad. The 3/8" steak on a stale bun was passable. Ceaser, which I spent $2 more for, was pathetic. Why did it cost more? I don't know. Dressing wasn't good. Didnt even have bacon bits. The discussion about portion sizes and price with manager ended with him saying, "then why did you bother coming here".
I phoned THREE weeks in advance to book my husband's surprise 30th birthday. Talked to Janet. She was more than thrilled with the reservation of 30 of us - booked us in the "penalty box", and said c'mon down, let's have some drinks and some fun! I was thrilled. This was my husband and I's fave sports bar. She phoned 4 days before the booked date to say that she could not accomodate us, unless... more
Went here for a steak night and felt ripped off. $20 for a very small steak, small amount of soggy fries, and a small salad. Didn't include a drink, not even a pop, let alone a draft beer. The special tonight was actually the steak sandwich for only 7.99. Would have been a better deal to get that and give the other 12 bucks directly to the fundraising effort. The wife ended up making popcorn... more
I didn't know why I kept returning, and finally had enough. The food is so so, the service is awful. The worst part is the selection of sports in a sports bar. No MLB and try asking for a football game. You might get it, and then they will constantly change it on you. Last time I was there, they wouldn't put one NFL game on in a bar with 27 big screen TV's. They acquiesced after my friends put... more
Great Wings!! Best sports bar wings I've had in along time.
After reading a number of not-so-good reviews (pertaining mostly to the poor service) I prepared to not be surpised if my server was rude, uninvolved, etc.
I think if they relocated the building a little further west and a touch more south, it would fit in perfectly with the area.
Monday ribs are a steal at 5.99 and are fantastic depending who's cooking. Wednesday wings are also great. They have some talented servers and treat regulars great. Been watching most sports events here for a year now, excluding rider games.
my husband and i have been here plenty of times, but the last time we went we weren't impressed.. waitress seemed annoyed when taking our order.. wasn't a hard order... 2 ice teas, 2 orders of wings on wing night.. food came out and was alright.. we realized we forgot to order a plate of fries to share but she turned and walked away before we even had the chance.. she didnt come back for the... more
Staff could be a little more friendly but over all I was happy, when you order a special u expect a small serving but not here I was verry impressed at the press box
Good sized portions. This restaurant does steak nights to help raise funds for various events such as school field trips, sports, and other important fundraisers.
Press Box had the worst service I ever experienced. The watresses had the worst attitudes and took forever to serve us and even give us a bill. One guy ordered the ribs and rice and it came to him cold. The watress never apologized or offered to replace or even heat the food. She just said "ok" and and took his plate away after he only took a couple bites. When it came down to our bill, the... more
We went for a rib night and I know rib/steak nights can be sketchy but the ribs were mostly fat and gristle and were cold. The caesar salad and rice were good.
I've been here 4 times, all on fairly busy nights and bar fights have broken out every single time. I can't enjoy a place like that. Service is slow and the food is simply pub food - deep fried and un-appetizing.
People from where I used to work use this place as a hang out. After showing up once, I can't figure out why.
The Press Box is billed as Regina's premier sports bar. That may be the case when the Riders are playing, but on a Tuesday night, the place was dead. Frankly, I'm not surprised. Their beer selection is limited to only the big chain breweries. You won't find any Irish ales or microbrews here. And the food wasn't as good as your standard pub fare. The prime rib burger, while not bad, wasn't... more
The food's good, prices aren't out of line, but the service can sometimes be sub-par - the servers have so much square footage to cover, and it's laid out in such a way that when your drink runs out they often don't notice for quite a while.
WAS Regina's premier sports bar. Poor menu changes, price increases, and eroding staff morale are evident to this regular patron. Bar staff can be unwilling to put a requested game on one of the MANY televisions in the bar, even when they involve Canadian teams! Management can still salvage this establishment, but need to act fast. Regulars are looking for a new hangout... more
