New favourite spot in Oakville. Great location, cool vibe & fantastic service. The Tuna Poke was literally one of the best things we had tasted and the Pirogies with crispy prosciutto were to die for. My husband had the sliders as well and said they were hands down, incredible. To top it off, the service was friendly, personable and prompt. This is definitely going to be our go to spot for... more
I loved the feel of Plank, with wood planks covering every inch of the walls, tastefully placed art alongside a giant wood framed mirror, mismatched, retro wooden chairs, tea lights inside mason jars aglow at each table, and menus presented on planks of wood. If all I was looking for was a place that welcomed me with its charm from the moment I walked in, this would be it.
While service was...

We've been to Plank six or seven times over the past year. The location and menu selection is good and its nice that the menu is changed up. The staff are always very friendly and attentive and that is the best part about the restaurant. The last two visits, however, were disappointing with respect to seating as the tables are placed extremely close to the next. Not very pleasant when someone... more
Love this place! Everything is delicious- my favorite is the calamari it is the best!! Also- I had the onion and olive pizza, it was amazing.
This is by Far one of the best resturants downtown oakville. What a great venue overlooking the harbour.
We sat outside which has such a lovely atmosphere , but were kindly helped inside after it started to pour with rain.
The place is jammed packed with people, and when the food arrived I could see why.
The portions are much smaller than normal , except for the deep fried cauliflower ,which was...

I just wish I could report the food was on par with the 4.5 star service, but alas I can't.
The one star Edamame Guacamole is a strange concoction that likely sports half the calories of its more conventional brethren but sadly 1% of the taste. And the accompanying chips and mini pittas served as equally tasteless vessels to our mouths.
The two star pork tacos were just ok and the battered...

First if all this is not tapas. I would say tapas inspired. Now that we have that expectation out of the way the service and food are pretty good. I took off the two stars for not actually being a real tapas and for the very noisy atmosphere. Also some of the dishes were salt bombs.
In. Absolute. Love. Everything about this place makes me smile!! The food. The atmosphere. The people. Always go here for any excuse to bring people. Food is always on spot and creative, and delicious, and incredible, and....and...and....! Never, ever disappointed! Best little restaurant in the whooole wooooorld!
Brunch of dreams!
My first time at Plank was for Easter brunch - and the breakfast menu is really really awesome!
I wanted to try just about everything on the menu, but I went with Huevos Rancheros and the special, Chicken and Waffles (yay for significant others that want to split things!). I'm hoping to go back in the future and try the stuffed french toast, one of the pizzas, or really...

Great dinner with the wife on a date night. Ate until we were stuffed with a fantastic assortment of unique dishes including duck poutine, pepper calamari and sliders. All were very good, atmosphere was great and our server was top notch. Would recommend.
Great food, definitely not an ordinary menu, everything we tried was delicious. The cauliflower fritters were amazing.
This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Oakville. I've been about 4 times now, and the food, service, and atmosphere are alwalys great. You can't go wrong with any dish you get. They're small plates, so I usually try to get at least 4 dishes to share with a friend. And as an added bonus, you can make reservations on OpenTable! :)
I really enjoyed the atmosphere, right by the lake and a cozy cabin-esk interior. That was my favourite part.
The food is good, not amazing. I think the atmosphere makes up for part of this.
We ordered:
-Fish tacos (okay)
-Margaritta pizza (good)
-Nachos (okay)
Really disappointing. The two stars are for the decor. But the mulled wine tasted like hot wine, the food was far too greasy, and it was like glorified pub good. Ugh.
Always a good time at Plank, broad variety of creative sharing plates that are modified regularly, daily specials and a great selection of wines and draft beers. Wish they took evening reservations.
I treated my Aunt and Cousin to a Christmas week lunch at the Plank Restobar as it was conveniently located and they were excited to try it. The online reviews were good so I assumed it would be okay. For the record, NOTHING about it was okay.
I had a reservation, but they made us wait at the door (tables were open by the way). My Aunt who is almost 90 and has a cane was not offered a seat -...

This would have been a 5 star review except for the following: the server was curt and rude for the first three quarters of the meal. She didn't bother with the niceties or even a hello etc. suddenly her mood cleared towards the last 30 minutes and she was friendly. That really takes away from an otherwise fantastic place and really great food.
Another thing to mention was that when our order...

PRO: Beautiful decor, free parking, easy location to get to. Chianti wine was nice.
CON: The whole dining experience. My friend and I went last night after another friend had recommended it. We shared all of our dishes (as this is a tapas style resto). This is the first time that I've ever had tapas and I've gotta say, what a fantastic way to eat! It's similar to eating Thai, in that it's best when shared with a group where everyone gets a dish and shares it amongst themselves while imbibing copious amounts of libations.
Between four of us, I think we ordered eight dishes. The calamari was lightly battered and avoided the two sins of calamari...

After months of wanting to hit up Plank, the opportunity finally availed itself. Cutting right to the chase, I am giving this place 5 stars based on ambiance, and if course food and drink.

I love this place. Sunday brunch, a patio lunch, small plates to share or just a night cap in a fun bar - its probably the most happening place to be in Bronte. Also the French Toast was special.
Nice ambience, good service and good food, what more can you ask for from a "restobar".
We will definitely be back, (word of warning, some of the "small plates" are a lot of food).
Holy cow! If you're in this area, do yourself a favor and eat here. The good is delicious, especially the Poutine. I was in the area for work and took a client here. Delirium Tremens on tap! Love the cauliflower fritters as always. Duck confit poutine a winner. Never had a bad experience.
Fantastic dinning experience! The Putein with frois gras is to die for. A seasonal menu makes this restaurant an ever evolving delightful location. The staff is also very enthusiastic! Highly recommended!
The Plank Restobar is a good little spot for sitting outside by the harbour and watching sailboats go by. The food and ambiance are pretty good. I would spice up the quinoa dish a bit but other than that, good in comparison to many restaurants out there. Plus the menu is a little different with many tapas options good for sharing with large groups. I would recommend you try it.
took someone's recommendation to visit and had an extraordinary time. The ambiance was fun and lively, set along the waterfront there was plenty to gaze out at. Service was great, not too pushy and the just right amount of attention. Wish they had larger tables outside, to fit 4 of us, but even being inside on a beautiful day being so close to the water we felt like we were outside.
Last week I had dinner at Plank with a friend. I love the restaurant, it is one of my favs. We had a great server, love him too bits. The food is here is great. Wonderful ambience and love the fact that there's more new selections on the menu every time I return. It's great for almost any occasion and the staff is wonderful
I heard about this restaurant from a friend in the hospitality industry and indeed she was right. A great spot for some Tapas style delicious bites in a great atmosphere. Initially a bit surprised that the online menu did not match the actual current menu, but the current menu is great as well! (pls update online version!)
We come here at least once a month and enjoy the variety of food options that Plank offers. I love the fish tacos because of what it potentially can be but they are inconsistent and the taco itself tends to be dry and in this most recent visit, the fish filled only half of the taco. i was going to order the tater tot bravas but I was recommended the duck poutine. It unfortunately fell flat. The... more

We decided to go out for a last minute lunch on Father's Day. We booked a table at Plank for 2:00 when their lunch menu starts. Very pleasant afternoon lunch experience. The service was exceptional, attentive, quick and professional. The ambiance was eclectic country with a great view of the lake/marina. The food was surprisingly very good. The pizza crust was thin and crunchy just the way we like it.The duck poutine a must try.
Loved the Decor and food. Calamari was the best I've had in a long time. The fries, muscles and pizzas were very good.
Waitress had an odd sense of humor and verged on insulting a couple of times. Taken with a grain of salt...she was good and attentive. The manager also stopped by to inquire on the food, which was great.
My husband and I go a couple times a month. It has a great variety of interesting food and drink and, being tapas, sharing is the best way to enjoy their food and find a favourite!! The service has always been amazing. I took a friend this time, and she loved the food, the atmosphere, and the service.
Plank is a feast for the eyes and palate alike. Having requested a nice seat, we were given one overlooking the Harbour. I have brought 4 sets of guests to your restaurant. Everything was really good, music choice perfect, but the volume restricts patrons from adequately hearing each other, even the waitress agreed. Staff should be aware of the proper volume level.
Would really appreciate if the management could give this their immediate attention. Food fabulous, music selection great, very friendly service
Lunch was excellent - good choice, just the right amount of food, served in a reasonable amount of time, with very attentative waite staff. Will definitely be back!
On the shores of Lake Ontario within the graspof the Bronte Harbor is perched this gem. Corner location, gives ample natural lighting, and view of the going on's of the inlet. Roomy tables with lots of elbow room. Dark sturdy beams, with high ceilings. Hugh bar area.
Very nice atmosphere, a bit crowded but an interesting menu. Drinks were great and staff delivered good service but I would've liked a more cohesive menu. Might be back.
Our server, Angelique, made it an especially fun night celebrating 2 anniversaries. She was just right!

My boyfriend and I go out often to eat, and always end up at the same old places. Tonight we decided to try something different and we officially have a new favourite.

Working at Spencer's At The Waterfront for years (A fine dining restaurant in burlington), I am always looking for somewhere with great food, service and atmosphere. Plank exceeds all my expectations. Decently priced, and generous size portions considering they are labelled "Tapas". A MUST try!!!!!
The place is pleasant with a great view if you get lucky to be seated at the window. Good service and atmosphere. However the food turned out to be very disappointing. Out of 3 different tapas I tried, neither has satisfied my taste.

The wine was great, calamari portion was small and expensive for both of us to share but the pepper and sausage pizza was delicious.... more
Food is amazing. staff are attentive. Owner really cares. Energy is awesome. WIne list has a lot ot offer. I love a place that takes food and service seriously...but they don't take themselves to seriously.

With chef inspired small plates and handcrafted cocktails Plank is a taste of New York City in Bronte
