Diners looking for a mix of "interesting" and "typical" Thai dishes, including curries "nearly as good as" what you'd find "in Bangkok", fill up at this affordable Downtowner; the modern bi-level space has a bar, a large communal table and oversized booths – all pink-accented, of course.
After 2 weeks of burgers, bacon and steak, we wanted to have a change on our foodplan. The Pink Elephant was recommended by our hotel and it is located near the main shopping venues. Servers were very nice and attentive and the food came very quick. The food was OK, not bad but not awesome. The music was quite loud... more
The food was excellent and very cheap. True Thai food in huge quantities. The only minus was a somehow defficient service.
Lovely Thai food with great variety and at a reasonable price. Funky little restaurant that was in an easy to access location ( close to Robson Street shopping).
Nice setting and excellent food . Not so expensive . For thai food lovers it is a good food ..
Try the tom young going soup. Portion is very generous
It was not awesome thai cuisine as I had anticipated but the service was good. The beef was rubbery, the rice was ok, and the pad thai was nothing special. Cool decor inside and club like music. I would not return again. It's one of those places where you eat once then walk away.
On the recommendation of our hotel concierge, in a city with a huge asian population, we visited the Pink Elephant, expecting the best Thai food in downtown Vancouver. It wasn't bad, but for the price one could reasonably have very high expectations. Everything was just ok. The service was pretty poor though, and could use improvement. We were seated and... more
The pink decor was interesting, and they have what appears to be two Chihuly sculpture light fixtures. That would be highly unlikely, but we asked one of the waitress if they were. She said she did not know, but others had asked that. The food was very good, and the service prompt and pleasant.
Food is only average and overpiced for what it was. Staff pleasant. Portions were big- almost to the point of putting me off. I ordered veggie satay however a plate of fish satay came as the waitress took my order incorrectly. She apologised and sorted asap. Overall, it was ok but nothing to write home about. It was near where... more
The service was poor, not authentic Thai food, the pad Thai is overpowered by ketchup, I feel like I'm eating stir fry noodles soaked in ketchup, overrated and overpriced!!!!!
My wife and I ate at the Pink Thai over Easter holidays. The service was poor and slow. The pad thai noodle dish tasted like it was made with ketchup. We have eaten at many Thai restaurants and this one is at the bottom of our list. The cost of the food was overprice for both quality and quatity. No... more
Great food and great service. A good fix if you are missing Thailand. Authentic and reasonable, the $10 lunch is fast, good and awesome value.
My husband & I were looking for a quick bite after a long day of traveling, this was our choice based on it's proximity to our hotel. We were not disappointed-the restaurant was quiet, the service was good & the food was great!! Would definitely go back.
We visited Pink Elephant on our last night in Vancouver. The restaurant is very funky, nice modern decor and a Dj playing tunes in the background (not overpowering). Staff were all very friendly and the food was served quickly. The good was amazing! We had a pad thai, panang curry and the stir fry with cashew and chillis. Would highly... more
I wish I had discovered this restaurant earlier in my stay as I would have gone back again and again. The decor is an off-putting outrageous pink but the service is fast and friendly and the food is out of this world.
We can usually get a seat fairly fast at lunch and if not the food is worth the wait! Modern pink interior, not tacky as you might think. Nice quick $10 lunch specials. Great tom yum soup to share. I love the green curry with eggplant and the pad thai is also a favorite. Good ambience, good quality food. I... more
Since we were staying at the nearby Blue Horizon Hotel, this restaurant appealed to us, as we do not have many Thai restaurants near our home and this was a short walk away. Since we had just arrived from the Eastern US, we entered about 5pm local time, but much later to our airplane-starved bodies! Happy hour specials got us... more
$10 for an appetiser and main course, was a great deal! I had the chicken pad Thai and it was a generous portion. The spring roll appetiser was also really good. It was fairly quiet on a Monday lunchtime but I'd imagine the vibe in hear on a busy evening would be great. The bright pink decor is certainly fun!... more
This small Pink restaurant had very good prices for downtown, good quality authentic Thai food and the staff very pleasant. Would go again!
We decided to visit this nice restaurant on very short notice. The food was excellent and the waitress did everything to make a memorable stay. We went the easy way and ordered the traditional dish for 2. Spring Rolls, chicken satay, sour soup, shrimps with beans and chicken in red curry sauce. All spices perfectly balanced! Don't miss it while... more
With so many choices in downtown Vancouver, we are very glad we walked into the Pink Elephant. The décor was colorful - lots of fuchsia. We arrived around 4pm and were still able to order from the lunch menu ($10 per dish, served until 4:30pm). Our very friendly waitress recommended the mango salad rolls to me (gluten-free) and they were... more
We went expecting a little more, the meals and the service were OK but we left with a slightly let down feeling about the whole experience.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced Thai lunch in downtown Vancouver, stop at the Pink Elephant. For only $10, they have a great selection on the lunch menu. Service is quick, not unfriendly, and food is good.
We visited here on a Tuesday and the place was very empty so lacked atmosphere. The service was friendly but spoilt later by the fact that they were sweeping the floor very early and were clearly looking for an early getaway given how quiet it was ! The food was average, not good but certainly nothing to complain about. Thai... more
Very good food freshly cooked and delivered by friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable. However if you do not like loud pop music, don't go on a Friday night when the DJ is there!
The food was lovely, portions big and prices aren't expensive at all compared to other restaurants in the area.
Although the staff were very friendly, the service was a little slow and they brought out the wrong dish and forgot to put through an order for a dish. This didn't bother us too much as we weren't in a hurry...

After reading that the Pink Elephant got silver for Best Thai Restaurant category of Vancouver Magazine's 24th Annual Restaurant Awards, I set up a get together. It did not disappoint.
The super hip decor with hot pink over-sized leatherette booths & other worldly chandeliers in an ultra sleek room of gleaming white, cool grey & polished black set the tone...

Not a place for a business lunch but I go with my work colleagues or alone. What I love the most about this restaurant is that it serves good, authentic Thai food in a clean and modern environment. No more dirty carpets or dark old wooden tables like some other Thai restaurants here. Yet, the prices are not that much... more
Disappointed in the Pink Elephant. I ordered Chicken Satay and received Chicken Tofu PadThai or some strange version of it. Flavorless....surprising for a Thai restaurant. Springrolls a little greasy and again flavorless. Service ok.
This is a great place for a quick lunch. Really good price too. It is a fun decor. The menu has lots of choice on it. You also get an appetizer with your selection. Would go back for sure. Check out the decor. Lots of neat materials used to decorate.
We found this restaurant close to our hotel, recommended by friends. Set menu for lunch is excellent value. 10 CAD for two courses. Fantastic decor. Kitchen within view upstairs. Super friendly waiters.
This is a great place in the centre of downtown Vancouver offering delicious Thai food. We ate here one lunchtime and ordered the $10 lunch special, which includes an appetizer (ours were spring rolls) and a dish from the set menu, which you can have with your choice of chicken, beef, pork or tofu. There are lot of dishes to... more
The restaurant is located in the downtown area and has a mixture of seating both on the main and upper level. Food was very good and there was lots of food for the price being paid. The staff was attentive at the bar and ensured that the food was hot when served and stayed warm during the event. Lots of... more
We enjoyed a delicious Thai lunch here and everything else about this restaurant. The cost was a very good value, the flavours and food authentic, the service attentive, the decor attractive, the location convenient. What's not to like! We'll be back!
Its link someone transplanted a Yaletown restaurant from 1998 to the downtown core. The Pink Elephant lives up to it's name in terms of decor. Really, a more understated interior with a pink (or not so ink) elephant centre piece would have had a more calming effect on the diners.
To the menu: The Matsamann curry (taken with chicken and...

Im from out of town, looking for delicious and quick lunch in heart of Robson / Albineri shopping district. This gem did the trick. Friendly, clean, two story open dining room. I had lunch special of 10$ spring roll ( delicious!) w chicken Pad Thai. Sat at bar, watched sports center and news, enjoyed light and healthy lunch... more
This is a real Thai restaurant with modern decor and excellent Thai food. The night we dined, there was a wedding reception going on and the place was jammed with Thai customers. We ordered a 5 course fixed price dinner for two for the princely sum of $50 all in. The food was great, and given the busy state of... more
The food is very good although nothing out of the ordinary for the area. The value is good as they give you alot of food for your money. "make you sweat" will really make you sweat.
We went to this restaurant after the Rehearsal for my son's wedding - a party of approx. 22 persons. The decor is 'chic' with lots of 'hot pink'. We were seated promptly by the very pleasant waitress. Our waitress told us that the Sangria was on 'special' so we ordered it. Our server seemed a little confused when we asked... more
The food they serve was not up to par.comparing any other thai restaurant in vancouver downtown this is probably one of the worst....It's a nice place for chilling and a drink but don't expect too much on their food.hope they will improve on this.
nested between a Wendy's and A&W, we figured they had tight competition for quick lunch business and this is why they had a $10 lunch special. Well, special it wasn't. Lots of choices, we chose the pad chai and green curry chicken and decided to share. The pad thai was one thick gloopy mess of overcooked noodles and the chicken... more
Slow. Came here for dine out, entree came 40 minutes after we all finished our appy, and dessert came 25 minutes after we finished our entrees's. The dessert was not very good, lacked presentation and taste. Overall: find a different Thai place. This one has slow service and mediocre food. 3/10
Not your traditional Thai decor which is a refreshing change as you sink into hot pink leather booths surrounded by black and grey accents and of course the requisite elephant. The mood is fun, sexy and vibrant and the food, while traditonal in flavours, offers some really unique options. I went with the yellow pineapple & pepper coconut curry adding... more
Fantastic place, I love thai food and I love this restaurant. Service was very good. I recomment for everyone to try.
Modern-yet-funky restaurant and bar with hot-pink banquettes and crisp white decor serves authentic dishes from all corners of Thailand. Specializes in a variety of Thai tapas. $-$$. L/D (daily).
