Diners looking for a mix of "interesting" and "typical" Thai dishes, including curries "nearly as good as" what you'd find "in Bangkok", fill up at this affordable Downtowner; the modern bi-level space has a bar, a large communal table and oversized booths – all pink-accented, of course.

Standard quality but good service
July 07, 2014It was not awesome thai cuisine as I had anticipated but the service was good. The beef was rubbery, the rice was ok, and the pad thai was nothing special. Cool decor inside and club like music. I would not return again. It's one of those places where you eat once then walk away.

Pleasant experience
May 27, 2014The pink decor was interesting, and they have what appears to be two Chihuly sculpture light fixtures. That would be highly unlikely, but we asked one of the waitress if they were. She said she did not know, but others had asked that. The food was very good, and the service prompt and pleasant.

The food was lovely, portions big and prices aren't expensive at all compared to other restaurants in the area.
Although the staff were very friendly, the service was a little slow and they brought out the wrong dish and forgot to put through an order for a dish. This didn't bother us too much as we weren't in a hurry...

Its link someone transplanted a Yaletown restaurant from 1998 to the downtown core. The Pink Elephant lives up to it's name in terms of decor. Really, a more understated interior with a pink (or not so ink) elephant centre piece would have had a more calming effect on the diners.
