We've been going here for years. We just love the food (especially the omelettes and pancakes), and the servers are always pleasant and efficient. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. We don't eat out a lot, but this is our very favorite place to go!
It took a long time for our family to decide to go to Perkins again after our last experience literally left a bad taste in our mouth, but we decided to give it a go.
When we got there, the restaurant was pretty full, but we got a table and had our order taken pretty quickly. BUT, then we waited.....and...

We had a wonderful late lunch on a recent trip to Winnipeg. Everyone ordered from the breakfast menu and it was fantastic.
Breakfast at Perkins rarely misses the mark, and I love that they give you the apricot and blueberry syrup options. Their pancakes are so yummy!
However, I wish I could say the same for their lunch and dinner options. On my last visit I ordered the Triple Decker Club, which is supposed to be a three layered clubhouse sandwich, or...

First off, I would like to explain that I know what I am talking about. Both my sister in law and my daughter worked for this particular Perkins, and we used to be regulars until the quality of food and service dropped drastically. We usually go to the Polo Park Perkins now- the food and service is far better.
We...

Went to Perkins on Portage with a 90 year old lady. We had just come within 5 feet of the door and there was Brett, Manager of this Perkins, holding the door open for us. What a great gesture.
The food came as ordered and it was good.
On the way out, there was Brett, holding the door for us...

We visited the Perkins for lunch on Portage Avenue in Winnipeg on November 28th and I ordered the scrambled eggs with spinach and mushrooms with hash browns and rye toast. My husband ordered the potatoe pancakes that have cheddar, green onions and served with sour cream side and fresh fruit! Everything was delicious and the coffee was hot and delicious!... more
Restaurant was on my way to my destination... Stopped for a late dinner.. Wanted something light... Ordered a salad... Im not normally "too" picky but i sent it back twice as it was super watery and it made the luttice slimy ... They fixed it after the second time... I most likely wont go again :(
We go at least one a month to Perkins. Food is great and the service is excellent. The breakfasts
are great.
A busy place-for a reason! Doesn't matter which one, people eat here because of the value & the quality! Coffee & a cinnamon bun, breakfast, lunch supper, doesn't matter what you order-IT'S GOOD! Good portions & reasonable prices. Even better with coupons! Try it, you will be pleased!
Great service & great food. It was the only place I found to get Canadian Bacon for breakfast!
The food was alright. A bit expensive for egss and ham but what can you do. Service was decent and food came out quick enough.
All in all, not a bad place to go to once in a while.
Nothing has changed at Perkins. Nothing is made fresh and that includes the baked goods. I know because I asked. Everything is prepared from frozen or canned sources. The prices are outrageous for the quality you get. The only thing good about the restaurant is the look of the menu. The food looks great but tastes like c@!p. I have vowed never to return.
Atrocious service and even worse food. Bland & dull seems to be the motto of the Perkins kitchen. Gave it several chances, but never again. Service, food, atmosphere are completely unnacceptable!
Servers are snarky. Food is dull and stale. Yuck yuck yuck!
