Was shopping around for a Mazda, went to a number of dealerships. Provided a previous quote from another location, asked if they can beat it.
Manager, went on to give me a lecture on how "unethical" it is for me to play one dealership off another. Refused to sell me a Mazda. Threatened to call security, when I tried to explain myself.
Manager's name is Phil Evan's. If you try to play hard-ball with him or his staff, OR you provide a quote they can't beat... be prepared to be dressed down him this gentleman.
Avoid at all cost. Other Ottawa dealers can give you better deals on both sides of the Ontario-Quebec border.
Great costumer service and great price

I purchased a Mazda3 here. A decent enough place to purchase a car, they will negotiate and there is not too much emphasis on high dealer margin - low purchaser value extras like paint protector and scotchgard. They do nonetheless try, and they will insist you to sign a 'waiver' when you decline. Tacky hard sell but certainly not the worst I've experienced in this city. If you don't mind... more
I've been calling to speak with a service advisor now for two day's. It keeps going to someones voice mail. This time I called back again to speak with the receptionist and they said there was only one service person working and the other one was on vacation.
It must be great to have that kind of job security to have only two service people working, but it really sucks when trying to book an...

Brought in my Mazda3, which had ~1,500KM of powertrain warranty left, since the car was making a loud "clunck" when shifting into 3rd gear with the automatic transmission. I pick up the car later that day and they told me that they heard nothing and found no code.
Returned the following week since the issue was obviously still there. This time they told me that the tech manager, an apparent...

This was my 2nd visit to Performance Mazda and I enjoyed it as much as the 1st some 5 years ago when my son was looking for a car. My wife and I ended up buying a pair of Mazda 3's although we only went in for one. So beware! Seriously though, we found the facility clean and bright. It had a good atmosphere and we really enjoyed working with Brian Sandford and Bruce Shannon in the office. No... more
I recently bought my Mazda 3 at Performance and I myself had a very positive experience, smooth, hassle free experience. The number they offered was the number I had come up with and was looking for. The actual buying process of negotiating and signing papers took less than 20 min and they found the car I wanted in under 2 weeks. Overall it was a great, smooth, buying experience and will... more
I went in to Performance Mazda for the first time today with a problem. I explained to the service rep that my indicator and power lock wasn't working. He told me that it sounded like the room fuse and I should bring it in for a diagnostic ($99). I told him that I checked all of the fuses and he said that I probably didn't check the right one as there are multiple fuse boxes in the car (one... more
Not sure if all rx8 owners feel the same way, but having a rx8 I head to Performance Mazda because they are the specialist.. Everytime I head down there there is a feeling that I get that I am wasting there time, very straight forward problem that I said I had, I experience lack of power in ambient temperatures. After looking into the problem for over 4 hours still not finding anything I tell... more
Brought my car at Mazda Youville and bought the warranty. I had a CEL light. Instead of them scanning the code first they replaced the splash guard saying it would resolve the issue naturally it didn't. Then they decide to scan the code realize it's a wire to my barometric pressure sensor. Instead of it being a 80$ for a one hour job to fix the wire it was 650$ since they replaced my splash... more
I've been taking both my Mazda there for years, with few negative issues. They are very friendly to deal with and I don’t get that sleaze feeling from them that I do from other dealership if you know what I mean!
If you are off warranty, than expect a large repair bill. I went there recently and had my Tribute repaired for 1000. 2 weeks later it was back in for another 1500 which when all the parts were in cost 3000. Now if I had been told I needed 4000 of repairs and brought to a salesman for a trade in for a new Mazda I would be driving one today. As it stands, I will never again buy a Mazda.
I had an excellent buying experience here. Purchased a new Mazda 3 from Andy Bernard in 2008, no issues whatsoever. He was a very straight shooter, I recommend this dealer to anyone seeking to buy a new Mazda in the Orleans area.
