A "quite complete collection" of "exquisite" VQA wines is found at this Niagara-on-the-Lake vineyard, which also offers tours and a "beautiful bar and seating area for tasting"; completing the picture are a "polished" ambience, a staff that's happy to "assist with selections" and a restaurant offering sweeping views of the vineyard.

Walking up to the building we had high expectations but they only lasted a short time. The winery we visited just prior to this was staffed with experienced and knowledgeable people but Peller seems to employ mostly twenty-somethings. Not to say they couldn't explain the wine but the experience lacked sophistication. And frankly the wines we tasted were mediocre. It's a nice looking place and... more

What a beautiful winery! The ice wine is incredible here. Too bad I came during the dead of winter when everyone was frozen stiff and couldn't wander the vineyard even if we wanted to. But I would love to come back some time in the Spring and Summer to check it out, just for the beautiful scenery and the fantastic ice wine, if nothing else. The tour was fun and informative and came with... more

This was our first stop in Niagara Wine Country and I wasn't super impressed.

I don't really have any major flaws or complaints, but it just personally wasn't my favorite of the wineries we visit. I didn't LOVE any of the wines we tasted and while the tasting room is very large and grand, it has a kind of chain/cookie cutter feel to it.

If you're looking for a standard vineyard to visit, this... more

Sorry you were disappointed. What went wrong?
The food was terrible. We did the 5 course dinner with the wine pairing. All the courses were terrible. Some even stale. The main entre was not even palatable. Always a place you should stop when tasting wines in Niagara. It is a little commercial (lame glasses) but the wines are consistent and they have great gift items. We always buy a few bottles of the Ice Cuvee to bring back to California because there is nothing like it there.

We went one day for tastings and the next for lunch in the restaurant patio. There are two patio areas--one that's more casual and the other connected to there fine restaurant. That's the one you want for a great experience. Katie was our server and was responsible for making our lunch memorable. She was fantastic--educated us on perfect wine pairings and the chef's exquisite creations.

Came up from NYC for the weekend. The winery was ok, but the food was amazing. We had lunch there and the view is amazing and the food was top notch. A similar meal in NYC would have easily cost twice as much, been twice as crowded and without a view. Definitely worth a stop if you are near the area.

My fiance came in for the 3-course brunch.
It was a rainy day so the dining room was fairly quiet, but even with the rain, the view of the grounds was spectacular.

By far the Peller Estate Ice wine collection is one of my favorite! They have a nice selection s of Ice Wines in White, Rose, and Late Harvest. We ate lunch; dinner was just too dear for our budget. We do this fairly frequently, get great food; but pay lots less than we would a few hours later. Peller Estates Winery is one of my "A Day in NOTL" wineries stop.

Estates it is, the deco here is just so grand and everything is mega scale!! Maybe too big to my liking.

Winemaking Excellence Tour for $10, with 3 tasting and $5 credit to purchase is not a bad deal if you never visit the winery before. But with winery as big as Peller, everything is not as personal and quite commercial!

Beautiful grounds and an excellent selection of wine and gifts. Reception always gracious. Gorgeous dining area indoor & out. Servers well-trained, conscientious. Menu is well varied without compromising standards of locally grown products and freshness. Wines outstanding. Lately a bit too much attention to meat & not enough to veg & grains -- guess Americans like that but fine-dining aficionados prefer more balanced plates.

In the land of small wineries, Peller Estates sticks out as the over-commercialization of wine in the style of Francis Ford Coppola's Disneyland of Wine in Napa Valley.

It's very faux-french modern (as opposed to Jackson-Triggs or Stratus cool-modern) and busy and hustle and bustle with actual Cashiers, and not just some lady ringing you up after she pours you your tastes.
