I loved that you could buy food to cook on their BBQ's. The wine is delicious and the scenery is beautiful. A real Peele experience. You can ride your bike too!
I visited the winery and purchased wine for the first time, having seen the grapes on the island during previous visits but never trying the wine. The winery was small and quaint. We took a tour that lasted about 90 minutes, during that time we sampled 5 wines, saw the barrels and tanks where the wine is prepared, and had... more
I have always enjoyed Pelee Island wines and visiting the actual winery was an excellent experience. You learn a lot on how the wine is produced and how the grapes are grown. You get a chance to taste many of the wines produced and enjoy a nice lunch. Take your time and enjoy your day while visiting the winery.
We came over for the day, biked around the island and then ended up at the winery. Sampled some of the wines and then enjoyed the BBQ. They sell you meat and you grill it. Had great angus burgers. A really nice idea and a fun way to do dinner. Just make sure you get there in plenty of time.
If you are visiting Pelee Island, the winery tour is a must. The walking tour lasts about 1 1/2 hours with a tasting of 5 wines. Then we listened to a local band, drank wine and grilled meat forour sandwiched. Heather was our tour guide and was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Definitely something I would do again on the island.
One of the oldest wineries in the area and their quality definitely shows. Yes they make some lower-end stuff but their reserves definitely compete with some of the Niagara wineries. Staff are always great.
When arriving at Pelee Island we took the tour in the red mini van. We had a personal tour by a lovely young lady called Heather, she took us to some places that the other tour bus doesn't go to. Heather had so much information to share and didn't rush things so our tour was just under 2 hours. We... more
Our B&B gave us vine tour tickets for this place so we went. Very informative tour. What I liked the most was that we can buy and bring food to BBQ. It's is such a GREAT idea ~ to provide BBQ and meat, plates, napkins, very well done !!! But, ... place close on Saturday at 8:00 pm : (... more
We took our bikes across to the island on the ferry and took a slow tour of the Island stopping at places of interest and checking out the sights. Went to the winery and toured around and enjoyed a glass of Pelee Pink. Beautiful island and wonderful island
Although we had been to several wine tours in Niagara, this was smaller and informative in a down to earth way. It was a walking tour that went around the small winery outdoors and in. It had a short video after, then ended with a tasting of 5 wines. We had to stand through that. Our group was 4 and... more
We were staying on the island and the winery visit is one of the few attractions to do. We went there and were lucky enough to be provided with pass for a tour of the winery. Our tour accommodated a large group of an organized bus tours. Our guide was a young university age lady who explained over about 30... more
We were there in May, and the grapes had died on the vines from a cold snap. The tour was informative, but they should have offered some "grapes" to try even if it means purchasing them from somewhere. There were lots of wines to choose from to purchase. The winery also has bbq's you can use if you bring your... more
This Winery and Vineyard is one of the prettiest that I have been too. The wines they make and sell there are fantastic. They have something for everyone. A tour of the winery is only $5 per person and it is one of the best things to see on this beautiful island.
A good tour as we have had a few of there wines, some of them our regulars. So a great chance to try some of there others...We were not disappointed. The tour was good with informative tour guides and lots of interesting information. Got to see the bottling line in production. Interesting and an overall good couple of hours with... more
What a wonderful way to spend some time on the Island for wine drinkers and non-wine drinkers alike. I have visited a few wineries in the Niagara on The Lake area, but the tour at Pelee Island was top notch! It's a beautiful property and the tour is a steal at only $5.00. It runs about an hour and a... more
We stopped into the winery on some good advice. As soon as we entered, the staff was very helpful but not pushy. We asked a few questions and eventually ended up at the sampling area. They offered free use of the barb ques to cook your meal. You were welcome to bring your own coolers and food. They offered picnic tables with umbrellas ..Buy your bottle of wine and go relax and enjoy . Very nice
We received complementary passes to this winery tour, however, the price was only $5 per person. Much less than I've paid for winery tours in the Niagara region. And you get a nice 1.5 hour tour, a short video included, 5 tastings in the private cellar and even get to take home the Pelee Island Winery (engraved ) wine glass.... more
My friends and I had a lovely wine tour and found the staff very informative and friendly. The environment is also quite welcoming with the live weekend music and BBQ grills available. As we were about to leave, I realized I had locked my car keys in the trunk (while loading delicious wine purchases). Being on the island, CAA was... more
for the likes of us who dont like the hassle of owning a full sized bar-b-q but would like to grill now and then, the garden bar b q worked out pretty well.

Although unable to visit the Island Vineyards a tour of the processing and bottling facility in Kingsville proved to be both enjoyable and informative. The tour guide was knowledgeable and very personable. The selection of wines made available for tasting provided a good insight into the Pelee winery production. About 77 wines are produced by the winery some of which... more
We included the Pelee Island Winery as part of a 5 vineyard tour on Sat. July 20. We went on the 12:00 tour on July 9th and our guide was fantastic.I unfortunately forget her name, but she had answers to all of our questions. We were given passes for a free winery tour by our B&B hostess. I was surprised to learn that the winery grows serious wine grapes and not the Concords more typical with Lake Erie wines.
The tour and the video were very informative, even though the video is starting to show its age. We tasted 5 wines during the tasting,...

Welcomed as we walked in door. Offered free tastings. Great information. Purchased a nice white wine.
This is the on land not the island winery division --- they had very knowledgeable and friendly staff and being off season in March they had incredible deals - no waiting - and a great assortment of wine.
Looks great, tastes great.
They have done a fabulous job with the decorating and display of the merchandise- great gift shop. Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. Great tour and information at the same time.
Staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The tasting session was a lot of fun and no-pressure. Great spot to stop if you love wine or are interested in trying wines you usually wouldn't or don't have the opportunity to.
Spent a couple of days on Pelee Island in Sept. Before taking the tour we had fun lunch on the grounds. You can cook your own chicken/burger/salmon. The winery tour was interesting and informative. Our group was small so the wine tasting was more to our specific tastes. Ended up purchasing some bottles to take home.
We,ve been on 2 Niagara tours, and 2 in B.C. and they were interesting, but this was the best for several reasons.
OUr guide, Mackenzie, was a lively and well-informed young woman who loves the winery and her job. We had done a tasting in Kingsville so we knew we liked some of the wines. Then we tasted and tour...

Our wine expert was friendly, generous with his pour and knew which wines to recommend after asking us a few questions about our wine likes and dislikes. The building was full of interesting wine antiques and artwork. It looked like a lovely place for a wedding or special event.

We really enjoyed the wine tour and tasting at the winery. Pelee Island Winery grows its own grapes on 600 acres on the island so the tour included viewing some of the vineyard, and a description of grape growing in addition to wine making. It was fascinating.
This winery has by far, the best tour of any we have taken in Ontario. The tour guides are friendly and very knowledgeable on all aspects of wine production. The grapes are grown on the Island and transferred to the mainland by ferry, for processing into wine. After our noon tasting tour, we had a chance to buy a bottle... more

This is one of the better wine tours we have taken. They don't have the big vats on site but, they go over the vines and some history. It is basic, small and simple but, worth taking.
Well worth the trip to Pelee Island.
Very informative and fun tour of the winery.
Staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.
The selection of wines is varied and enjoyable.
The grounds are gorgeous and wll kept.
Sat on lovely patio overlooking the vineyards while we cooked our hamburger on the provided barbeques and drank good wine. How lovely is that!
My wife and I had toured the winery on the Island before, but never had the chance to try out their barbeque. This time we did. Very wonderful idea. We did a little wine tasting, decided on a wine, bought it and drank it with the steak and salmon we bought at the pavilion on site. We cooked the steak... more
This was a very informative tour. The tour included sampling of the many types of grapes used in the wines. Canada's favourite author has a summer home on Pelee Island. She buys her bread and scones at the local bakery and swims in Lake Erie's warm waters. Every spring she hosts the annual literary events held on the island.

Although our student tour guide didn't know much in depth about wine except for what was on his script, this tour made our trip!
