We needed a reasonable place to sleep close to the inner harbor -
It was clean ,reasonable priced ,easy to book .
Unfortually the Air Condition was out of service and we had a very hot night .
The couryard outside gave the hotel a nice character .

Dirty and no hot water

Not only did the room have an overall feel of dirtiness, but we also had no hot water for showers! Nooooo... Air conditioning

Temperatures were at 30C (90F) and assumed A/C was in the room but no it wasn't and almost checked out due to extreme heat in room. Sink and bathtub both were clogged. Get what you pay for. Restaurant was very good and average priced. Walk to downtown/Chinatown and inner harbour.

We stopped and had lunch at Paul's and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - nothing fancy, just really good. The restaurant has been recently renovated so, along with the homemade goodness of the food, the atmosphere was bright and cheerful. We will definitely visit again when we're in the Victoria area.

After driving twelve hours to get here our bathroom was dirty, the tub still had water and hair all over it. We told the front desk and they weren't concerned, also we were away from the group we booked with (again nothing could be done). On Monday night, June 2, we stayed at PAUL'S MOTOR INN. It was recommended to us so we thought we would check it out. It was walking distance to downtown and close to shops and restaurants. The price was $69.00 plus tax($80.73).

I was looking for a place that would be close to everything (central) and at a price I could afford, since most accommodations in Victoria, although top-notch, can be rather expensive...unless you own an oil company! This place "fit the bill" nicely in that regard.

Awesome classic hotel

Paul's Motor Inn was fantastic and I will definitely be coming back. The wooden walls and benches inside the room made for excellent photo ops and the you really can't do any better for location or cleanliness. You will not be disappointed.

I booked here based on the TripAdvisor ratings. I wanted a place that was inexpensive, but decent, for a two-night break in a long road trip. I was not disappointed. My room was large, quiet, clean, and comfortable, with easy parking next to my door--motel style. It was convenient to downtown, but just outside the traffic congestion of downtown.

15 Minute (max.) walk to centre of town

Great motel style hotel with plenty of carparking. Good sized clean room. Restaurant is apparently open only at the weekends and they do not serve breakfast. There are a couple of reasonably priced restaurants just across the street. Located an easy 10 - 15 minute walk from the tourist area of the waterfront.

If you want a place that feels clean, great location for touristy stuff and restaurants (ask staff for suggestions), clean towels and sheets, mattresses fine, descent restaurant attached, safe feeling, free parking outside your room, friendly knowledgeable staff, great price, then here ya go. I had emailed Paul's motor inn before coming to ask if they would hold our bags as our flight got in early. Manager was more than eager to.... Fast, simple, very good! The "short stack" is what we both had (a side of bacon to share) and the 'cakes were light, fresh and delicious...so was the bacon. What more could one want for breakfast?

Scalded not once, but twice in 2 different rooms by the shower. Mouthy and argumentative housekeeping supervisor. No air conditioning, was NOT offered a fan, even though one was available in the room the we moved to (broken fan, but worked none the less)

Terrible Place

This place sucks. Dirty smelly rooms, Rude staff. I didn't expect much from a $80 a night motel but a little courtesy would be nice. If our looking for a place to stay in Victoria there are much better options for the money. Don't waste your money or vacation time on this dump.

Clean and Friendly

Not a lot of extras here, it's an older motel that they have worked nicely to update. We had 2 rooms and they were both clean and comfortable. The motel is right on the main highway going from downtown out to the Butchart gardens; they have free parking and are close to downtown.

Exellent value for money

Exellent value for money the only thing missing was air con although it did have a ceiling & stand alone fan. Restaurant/diner food was very good. Service was exellent with the houskeeping and front of house staff being very helpful. We were put on to this hotel byour relatives & it provided all we needed. Thanks to you all.

Convenient plus

Paul's is very handy to downtown/China Town and to all the out of town places we wanted to go to (Cathederal Grove, French Beach) - right on the TransCanada Hwy.
The restaurant downstairs was fantastic and opened earlier so we ate there almost every day.
Not fancy but clean and comfortable and everything we needed!!

Skip This Hotel

Returning to our hotel room after 7 in the evening we found that the room wasn't cleaned. At the front desk we learned that the entire 3rd floor didn't get cleaned that day as the crew didn't have time to do it. This was told to us in a matter of fact tone with not apology or even the offer of clean towels.

Motel, Don't expect too much

A typical motel, no A/C, walls are thin, lady at the front desk needs more training. I would not recommend this to a friend. I'd say pay a little more for a better hotel.

Very nice place for the price

On our 14 day trip from Denver to Torino, BC and back, this was one of the better Places we stayed. The room was very clean and in good order. The beds were comfortable, much better then other places in the same price range. The Hotel staff was very friendly. Good food at the restaurant, but our waitress was terrible. This was a good hotel with plenty of space, comfortable beds, good shower. We came during a hot spell and were surprised that there was no air conditioning. There was an overhead fan and a table fan, however.

We were very pleased with our stay. The room had a faint smoky odor, and that is my only complaint. Otherwise, the staff members were extraordinarily helpful and the room was very clean.
