Great choice for dinner tonight! Garlic expertly infused in everything but never overpowering. This is a garlic lover's dream come true and we loved the fish taco and calamari as well as the soup. Great menu, comfy atmosphere and pleasant service. Would recommend without hesitation.

Delicious lunch special. Will definitely be back next and every time I'm in Nelson. Had the plum beef wrap & fries and also tried a garlic chocolate chip cookie. Liked the open windows and patio. Service was reasonable& friendly.

This is one of the best restaurants in Nelson! They have amazing food and great staff. One of my all time favorites is the Quasar Burger - it's a chicken burger with garlic aioli and brie cheese - need I say anymore? The prices are great - very affordable. I wish there was a Outer Clove in Calgary!

Funky vibe, Good food and friendly service. I am not usually a fan of a restaurant based on one ingredient because it sort of forced that ingredient in places it isn't necessary just to prove some point, or have a complete menu, but I think they don't over due it and fit garlic in where it is appropriate. This is the kind of place I feel like you could go to often and be satisfied.

4 stars for the concept and interesting menu and service. 3 stars for execution. From the description, the chicken sounded so good, but I was disappointed with the heavy breading. Salmon with pesto sounded amazing too, but just wasn't that good either. Garlic mashers were dry. Cookie was too sweet and a little hard. Garlic mead - just weird. Great menu - just need to refine the cooking part.

We read the reviews on here and decided to go to the outer clove, even after reading the bad ones. Loved it, funnily enough we were sitting right by the table with the tar stain, which did not affect our appetite! Very cool place. Great food and a lot of fun.

I've eaten here several times but unfortunately I won't be going back. Our drinks were warm and our food was cold. Service was mediocre at best and my Mom's $17 lobster mac and cheese had little to no sauce on it and was way overcooked. When she mentioned it was quite dry our waiter informed us that there's sauce on the bottom and to take a better look. Really?

Food is very tasty and garlicky! Service is mediocre but the whole place could use an overhaul and a good cleaning. We had to stop going here, as we have kids and it doesn't matter how busy it is it literally takes FOREVER for your food to come. If there are 2 or more tables the staff seem very stressed out.

Our group of 11 had dishes ranging from burgers and fries to meat & potatoes. At this point, I have eaten my way through the entire menu, and I loved it all. Highlights are the garlic soup, the quasar burger, and the lobster mac. This Place Needs a Makeover!

You only need to look at the brown plastic tablecloths to see how little care is taken with the decor at this restaurant and note the smear of black tar on the side wall to have your appetite depressed. There are signs everywhere ordering the customers to "close the door tight," "turn off the lights" in the dirty bathroom, and "Seat yourself."

This place rocks!

The BEST... Used to go to Nelson just to ski, but definitely going to go more just for this place. Never have I ever had such amazing food :)

The service was awesome. My husband ordered lamb & I ate lobster pasta. The food was great. A little bit on the pricey side. The serving portion is okay (typical). I think the lamb though wasn't enough for my husband!
Just be prepared to burp out garlic for the rest of the day.

As a mountain biking family, my wife and I have been coming to Nelson for 10 years now. As much as we love the riding here, we love the food! You can't throw a rock in Nelson, BC, without hitting at least two fantastic eateries. But this trip we discovered what we feel is the best in an already standout crowd - The Outer Clove!

Every menu item contains garlic.

Delicous. Had a few different appetizers witha friend. The calamari with lemon aioli was amazing! The dumplings were delicious! Service was great, our waitress was very attentive, and funny. ***

I don't know what the other person's comment was all about, but the food there is definitely all home made and prepared fresh to order! Delicious. Service was out of this world, very friendly atmosphere. I will surely be back again!

Interesting and tasty choices, though some things clearly prepared much earlier. Great cosy ambience, but service can be atrociously slow, out of sync (eg poor flow management) and fairly dismissive.
