Japanese type stationary store. Lots of form and function based goodies for the home office, student or lover of stationery.
This cute little store on Granville Island has a mix of vintage papers, cute notebooks, and adorable random knick knacks. The service is really friendly, and they seem to know a lot about their merchandise. I couldn't get enough of this store! It's the perfect store to buy gifts for people who have everything.
Such a super CUTE little store!
If you are into all things related to writing and paper - you will love this place! So many unique handmade cards, printed papers, fun stationary, and sweet books.
I purchased a super cute planner for work and I LOVE it. It's great because you can actually add in your own dates which I find very helpful!
Traffic getting here was sooooo terrible.
And an update on their hours: they close at 6 pm.
The staff here are all very friendly, nice, and attentive. I was looking for a heavy weight 300g watercolor paper book that wouldn't ripple or wrinkle. One of the girls found a hand made square booklet with ribbon close detailing! And a Fabiano book. I was very happy and only wished I had bought more....

Being a huge stationary fan, I LOVE this store!
They have new things daily - I don't come here everyday but that is what I've been told by the employees and all their items are so artsy and cute!
What do they sell? Anything from notebooks, journals, agendas, Moleskine to coin purses, bags, leather goods, pens, craft paper, and more!
A paper stationery lover's dream! I'll admit I'm the last person that needs any more notebooks and stationery. I still have pristine paper notebooks and pads from when I was a teenager... I don't know whether I actually had any intention of using them, but I've always loved collecting stationery and I still do. The store was quite busy and isn't the biggest, but I enjoyed browsing the books,... more
This shop is located inside one of the larger buildings at Granville island but sorry I can't tell you which one... that place is confusing!
It's a cool little stationary shop with an amazing selection of notebooks, stamps, pens, and other office supplies.
I wasn't intending to go today, but stopped in to look at fountain pens. Picked up a Lamy Safari. The staff were very knowledgeable, and...

If I never come back to Vancouver, Paper-Ya may be the place I miss the most.
It is most certainly on the short list. In Granville Market, Paper-Ya is my perfect store for just about everything life affirming and creative. Think blank slate.
Here you can find gorgeous personal journals, artistically whimsical folders with comic art-direction, pop colored urban photo albums,...

(Paper-Ya does not accept refunds, only exchanges.)
The store is small and the lights are warm. They have a great selection of papers and other related trinkets. On the right side, there are planners, cards and some artist supplies. They carry Palomino pencils. There are also stamps and book binding materials (limited selection). The left side are for notebooks, pens (fountain, ball point,...

Solid 3.5 stars for getting high-quality dairies, notepads, journals, creative stuff, and anything paper-related. Quite the large store, it's spiffy so buying a special gift is ideal for someone you care about.
Some books too.
For me, it's just something to snoop about.
Located in the Net Loft building by the entrance.
Goods are well-designed and exquisite. Hope there are not so many people. Crowded but yup cuz it is popular. If not so will be wonderful.
Got my envelopes for my wedding here and they were great. This place has amazing paper products and stationary, very unique.
A beautiful stationary store that has really high-end supplies. A nice place to visit to purchase pens, journals, and other stationary products. They also carry midori notebooks and refills.
Such a great find! Lots of cool things in the store. Some of the posters are pretty cheap (~$5 each). I wanted to buy everything in the store... It's a great place to get gifts for your friends and family!
My favourite paper and other goodies store in Vancouver. They always have original stuff, great for gifts and for that special treat. Everything from notebooks, journals, stamps, cards, wallets, seals, wrapping paper... and all sorts of beautiful finds.
Sexy little place to get all of your stationary needs for a special event, a humorous event, or something serious. Lots of cool journals and note pads with neat designs ranging from Japanese, olde timey vintage print, and even Hello Kitty.
I like the assortment if cool fountain pens and postcards from around the world too.
All I can say is WOW... I came here simply seeking gift box for a new Dooney & Bourke purse I bought my mum for her birthday since HBC didn't carry gift boxes. Not only did they have an amazing selection of boxes, they chose the perfect one that matched it perfectly, packaged it with care, wrapped it with exceptional talent and even created a handmade bow for it. It looks like something you... more
I am one of those people whom doesn't have an ipad or an iphone with fancy aps. I am in my 30's and I still find it easier to just write with old school pen and paper and print s@!t out. This store is perfect for the old school writers like me whom prefer the art of writing in fancy notebooks, stationary and sending love through the hand rather than texting. They have cute wrapping paper and... more
This is an overrated store. I think this store in Granville Island was rated top 3 for shopping in Vancouver, so I had to see for myself what it was all about. Despite all the other glowing reviews, I was a bit disappointed and I can't understand why people get so excited over a $15 dollar journal. Origami papers costs 9 dollars, and in Japan you can get the exact same one for 1/3 of the price.... more
Cute stantionary store on Granville Island. I originally came to look for origami paper but instead found a lot of unique paper related products and gifts. If you want to make any DIY, or look for unique presents for your loved ones, check out this store. A bit on the pricey side but if you are already on the island, may as well make a stop at this fun little shop.
Can be a little crammed at times (tourists) but is my go- to place for journals and birthday cards.
Who ever thought I could be so jump-up-and-down happy for something on Granville Island that doesn't sell something I can put in my belly?
This is one of my favorite stores on the Island, and a must-visit every time I make my way down. I really want to own everything they sell here, literally.
Journals, notepads, sketchbooks galore! Quirky birthday cards and adventure notebooks in one corner,...

I want everything in this store, all the time, always.
WAY back in the day, I actually pulled a four month stint at this eccentric little haven before succumbing to the call of the service industry. I loved it before, I loved it during and gosh darnit, four years later, I love it still!

It's a bit tricky in here.
At first glimpse, it seems full of postcards, gourmet journals, and sketch pads -- plus novelty items like sealing wax, calligraphy nibs, and antique watches. I suppose if you self identify as 'artsy', and want a $40 sketchbook with pictures of art nouveau clowns on the cover for a little latte musing, you may well find something here.

Came here because we were having a home decorating emergency. Actually referred to the store by a different art supply store for there wide selection of art warping papers. The clerk that helped us did a great job showing us all our options and before I knew it our home decorating crisis was averted. Thanks Paper-Ya
Going into this store makes me remember how awful it is to be dependent on all things digital. I am one of those people that inexplicably goes weak at the knees for cool notebooks and paper, so Paper-Ya is a playland for me. They carry a great selection of Pantone, Leuchtturm and Moleskine products (bread and butter for the notebook-obsessed), as well as lots of others that I haven't seen in... more
I love this little place. Very unique books and journals and other things like pens and lots of nick knacks. Me and my fiancé went in looking for a guest book and found a perfect one for less than we were expecting to spend! We also got a calligraphy pen that you dip in ink. Amazing quality and fair prices
Perfect store. Seriously perfect. I am a sucker for a great paper store, but heir buyer has seriously amazing taste. With several container options and towers of paper, it is a small store, but a great one. They have creative books, hard cover and soft cover journals, knick-knacks and more. I wish they had a greater pen selection, but that is just because I have an unhealthy obsession with... more
Sooo much to peruse! From journals, sketchbooks, papers, stamps, ribbons, nick-nacks, even wax seals, their selection considering the small size of their space is quite extensive. I do find it to be a tad overpriced compared to other craft stores around the city, however they do have a wonderful variety of unique purchasables. It's always enjoyable to have dorky chats with the staff about the... more
I'm eclectic, I'm artsy, I'm writer, so you would think I'd like this store a whole lot more than I actually do. Don't get me wrong, there are a number of cute things here that I would get for myself or give to others as gifts. However, I can't get past the pretentiousness and the c@!%!y customer service. Treasures drown in the overpriced c@!p and hideous knick knacks that are all too common... more
I adore this place! If you're a stationary nerd like I am, then you won't be able to walk out of here with out purchasing something. Great place for unique gift ideas as well.
This place is *dangerous*. To my purse that is! I could quite happily spend a ridiculous amount of dollars every time I go in here on things that I don't realllllllllly need but omg isn't that so cool?!
As I live far from home, my favourite old-fashioned thing to do is write letters. I go here for the paper! There's some cute writing paper that doubles as both the letter and the envelope -...

I have to be totally honest, this place is a stationary nerd's wet dream. Honestly.
The staff are lovely, always busy in the store, the staff make a conscious effort to make sure you have what you need and are right there if you have any questions (both because they are paying attention and because the shop is quite small).

I love paper-ya! Great for card makers, scrap bookers, journalers etc. They have a great selection of things. I don't know where I would be with out my "all out of" grocery shopping check list, and my "what to pack" check lists.
This is one of my favorite shops in Vancouver. It has the cutest things... stationary, wrapping paper, agendas & notebooks, etc. Everything is unique and pretty and I want to buy it all! I bought a casual canvas-like material purse there and now (6 months later) I still use it every day. I love this store... a must-go for paper/stationary needs.
I've been in love with Paper-Ya since the mid 90's. Sharon the owner taught book binding & paper making courses at Emily Carr University and her knowledge of the history and use of papers from around the world is mind boggling. Her handmade books and papers are exquisite.
