I often look to see if there is an Original Pancake House in my destination city, and have had great meals and experiences from Alabama to Illinois to Wisconsin to Minnesota to California. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed. On a Monday morning, the service was harried despite many empty tables, indicating there might be a staffing/management... more
we decided to have an early supper the the pancake house. The service was very good and the food as always was fast and very tasty. The giant apple is an very large and tasy meal.
We were at the Pancake house at 10:30 am on a Monday. It was very busy. I had the Eggs Benedict . It was very good. The bacon was so crisp, it was almost uneatable. We had great service from Chantel. There was endless cups of tea and coffee.
The Pancake House is always really packed on the weekend, and there is always a lineup around brunch, but it just goes to show that the dining experience is completely worth the wait. Our most recent visit was this past Saturday. Our server Aaron was very knowledgeable about the menu, and made some great suggestions for food choices. My husband... more
4 of us came in Sunday morning It was really busy but the wait time surprisingly was not long. The staff were all friendly ( Nicole) our server was great at answering our questions and keeping our coffee full. Definitely will be going back soon. Food ( giant apple to die for)
Got here on a Saturday morning, 6 adults and one baby.
Waited 30-35 minutes just to be seated when there were empty tables.
Waitress came and we ordered, the worst part was the food, my eggs were COLD and there was a hair in my stepsister's ham.
Wanted to complain but the waitress didn't come back.
My hashbrowns were 'deep...

Breakfast at the Original Pancake House is an excellent way to start your day.
Eggs, toast, sausages, bacon, and ...... pancakes combine to create a wonderful breakfast.
The pancakes are exceptional and the house coffee is a great topper to a great meal.
Not top notch service but at 7:00am, the standards should be a bit lax.
Will be going...

I drove past this place several times when I was in town for business and one day decided to go. One the recommendation of the waitress, I ordered the apple pancake (though not the giant one).
It was like a huge apple fritter. I like apples, don't love them, but I really enjoyed it. The portion was just right, and...

My husband and i go to this Pancake House a few times per year. It is always consistent, and while not fantastic, is a good solid place for breakfast. DH always has the Giant Apple Pancake, which he loves. It is always very good, full of apples and cinnamon and too big to finish in one sitting. I usually have... more
Decided to go out for breakfast and thought to go here. What a mistake had the eggs Benny and the eggs were over poached the English muffin not toasted the holly sauce was terrible and the hashbrowns with no seasoning. Overall we will never go back there again. Worst breakfast I have had in Wpg yet.
Had the Deluxe Hangover Omelette, which sounded interesting because of the addition of pepperoni to the normal omelette offerings. The omelette was actually nothing spectacular, and slightly over-cooked. It is nice to have a small plate of pancakes come as a side dish included with the meal. Had to remind the server twice to bring milk for my coffee.
We were just there this morning. I hassle the banana split crepes which I would definitely get again.
My husband had the blueberry pancakes and he really liked them.
The atmosphere was just ok and the price was a little high for what we got, we still like IHOP better but this is good when there is no IHOP
Mostly breakfast or brunch, but the coffee never seems to stop & the GIANT apple is to really die for!!! All their breakfasts are terrific & linch-well- portions aren't exactly tiny! Want something-just ask for it! Try & get a table on the weekend- bring a book because everyone wants to enjoy the atmosphere & the taste sensation! Lunch was... more
Very prompt service at lunch time, lots of coffee refills, food was great, big portions. I will be back!
The staff are very helpful & the servers are fast & efficient. I had potato pancakes which were delicious. There wasn't much atmosphere but the restaurant was bright & clean.
This restaurant has been around for ages and continues to provide excellent brunch options for the neighborhood. Never fails that we end up coming here at least once every trip home, and I never complain.
I love the pancakes, never really stray away from them.
The service is exactly as you'd expect at such a restaurant; attentive and friendly.

My daughter lives on Pembina Hwy, so when we go visit her in Wpg, we always go to The Pancake House. We were there Dec. 27, 2011 and the food was terrible! I ordered a steak sandwich - medium - but it came very well done and bone dry. Not only that but it was cold and without any bread!!... more
the food sucks but if you just wanna sit and chat it is a good resturanr
I visited The Original Pancake House on July 4, 2010. Every table was full so there was a 10 minute wait. Well worth the wait though. Excellent food. Large portions. Had an omelet which was excellent. The kids had pancakes and they loved them. Good service also. Consider splitting a meal if you are a light eater.
If you want a good meal at a reasonable price, you should try the Pancake House. Your family will enjoy it.
Nice and clean, great for breakfast but some items pricey

Try the Pancake House for a hot and hearty breakfast, served with a smile. Viennese French toast is a favorite, topped with cream cheese and strawberry preserves. Crêpes are also excellent. Traditional eggs, toast and crispy golden hashbrowns are also on the extensive menu. Coffee is served in a "bottomless cup," so go ahead and drink up.
