Location, location, location. Ideal to stumble home to after a night of boozing and schmoozing on Saint-Laurent. All chic and sleek, without the attitude. Cozy, streamlined suites that feel toasty—especially after three apple martinis. Still not sleepy? Pop in for a night cap at sultry Suco lounge in the lobby.
I will definetly be back this summer for the Jazz or the just for laugh festival. Great location in the heart of Montreal. At my arrival the valet help me with my luggage and direct me to the front desk. 3 Beautiful smiling lady has there for me. Very spacious, confortable and clean room. Confort food breakfast and deliciious cappucino.... more
Went to Opus in April for a bachelor party. It was just what I expected, based on the reviews. The Koko club in the hotel gets loud on Friday and Saturday night, so just expect that. We were out late anyways, so it didn't bother me too much since we came back after 3 am and it quieted down. But... more
Only stayed one. Room was spacious, clean and pretty much perfect. No complaints at all. Staff was very efficient and friendly. Could have used a doorman for directions. Stayed on the 5th floor and didn't hear any noise. WiFi was free. Coffee maker was great. Great location.
Beautiful hotel-yes. The service here is great. Ameneties, not so much. This hotel doesn't even have a computer for guests, which I found shocking. The rooms don't have a TV with demand (they just have basic cable) and the there is a serious sound issue here. We had to move rooms after the first night because the floors were literally... more
Despite some of the negative reviews, I have to say that our experience was better than we could have imagined! No noise, amazing service, clean rooms, nice decor. After reading the reviews about the noise level, my group of twenty and thirty somethings and I actually expected this and were prepared for a possible loud night upon arrival. Luckily, it... more
We used a Gilt City voucher and had a wonderful experience. Called about a week in advance to request a room away from the restaurant/club (as recommended by other previous reviewers, thank you!) The staff accommodated us perfectly. We were on the 3rd floor (4th floor to Americans) and on the side of the hotel away from the club (to... more
Stayed for 1 night this past week while in Montreal for business. Very contemporary feel to the hotel. Great bar and restaurant area (KOKO) Staff were friendly. Only a couple of things....This hotel still charges for WiFi...c'mon folks really!! As well the rooms are very dark...great for the contemporary image and feel but really not functional. Good location for business... more
I am submitting this review for a trip I booked for my daughter and her roommate at the Opus for 7 nights March 3-10th. I booked directly through the hotel with the assistance of Beniot C. He was very friendly and helpful and my daughter was placed in a top floor room with a great view. The girls were thrilled... more
The main reason to go there was our voucher from Travelzoo, it included 1 night stay, valet parking and dinner – all for $199, pretty good deal. The hotel is fine, very nice easy check in. as it was mid-week, they were not very busy. We got there at 4pm and the room was ready. The “valet guy” (sorry, I... more
An stylish hotel, but I wouldn't go back -- the noise from the night-club was unacceptable. And it's a known problem - the hotel actually provides ear-plugs at the bedside.
On a positive note, the staff were helpful and efficient, the breakfast buffet offered a lot of choice (but I could have done without the loud music at breakfast) and...

Nice, close to everything if you are a young guys in a city and want to have some fun and rest in a nice room!
We stayed at the Opus this weekend. I was a bit concerned because of some bad reviews I'd read, but we had a wonderful time. Yes there was some noise from outside, but that's to be expected in an urban downtown area. I asked for a quiet room, and it wasn't bad. The hotel staff were nice and accommodating; we have a baby and also had a voucher to KOKO. It was a bit too loud and club-y for a... more
What is there not to love about this place? Rooms are comfy/stylish! Service is beyond anything i've ever experienced at ANY hotel, worldwide!
Hotel tragedy. Bring proof of your reservation. I wonder how many other customers they do this to. The hotel overbooks its rooms, then tells arriving guests that their reservation was actually for the day before. Guests who did not have the foresight to bring a copy of their reservation are SOL, problem solved for the hotel. Well that is what Opus Hotel in Montreal did. Keep in mind that this... more
Stay away if you want a good night's sleep. Between the frequent traffic jams in the nearby streets, local clubs, and the hotel's own dance club pounding until 3 a.m., there isn't likely to be any room in the place where you can get away from noise. The hotel says that the rooms are "heavily soundproofed" but that sure doesn't apply to the guest rooms; the ceilings are the original poured... more
The valet damaged my car and it required a trip to my mechanic for service. The hotel did not offer any resolution. The simple aspects of running a hotel elude the Opus. My reservation for two queens got me one king. Everyone remembers to smile, but they don't really know what they're doing and the service is sub-par. It's too expensive for what it is. Stay at the W.
I stay here quite often when up from New York. The Godin was stylish and sexy Opus... well, it feels like they are trying to be family friendly or something. It definitely feels a lot more "corporate" if you can say that.... Service ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The service is hit and miss but it was always like that. Though my last experience... more
At more than 250$ per night ! I would have hope that its possible to sleep at this stupid hotel ! There is a disco at the level floor... and i got a room at the first floor... the music go on and on untill 3 am ... ! Even at the second floor... it`s difficult to sleep ! I guess thats why they give us ears plug next to the bed ! Also the milk in the mini bar was expired... there was no soap,... more
Great location, nice hotel. The staff is deceitful. There were so many hidden charges they hit us with at checkout. Its a shame, loved the stay and was planning on staying there for now on. I will never go back !!!!
Really nice looking hotel- very modern style. Staff are all young and good looking people with very stylish uniforms. They offered us a glass of wine as we were checking in which was cold and delicious. Rooms are very nice. Ours did not have a bathtub which would have been good but the whole look of the place is great. Fantastic location, close to metro's, buses, walking distance to many bars,... more
Opus Montreal is so funky that the staff wear matching black and pink shoes, yet every staff member we spoke with really wanted us to enjoy our stay.
We were greeted with a glass of good champagne on check in... and impressions just got better. No request was a problem, directions and advice were given freely.
Our room was practical and good looking, with a bathroom that was actually big...

I was very nervous when I booked the trip. When I got to the hotel my nervousness when away when I saw the great lobby, gym and outdoor lounge. More impressive was my room. It was large, well designed and ideal. I would however encourage them to install window shades that block out early morning light. I would also encourage them to increase the speed of responding to room call needs. The... more
I thought the hotel was quite beautiful, and very modern. The staff are all quite beautiful too, also very friendly and helpful. In addition to the house keeping during the day, they also have someone come around in the evening offering ice, provide you with a weather card for the next day and some candy. If you're not there they turn down your bed for you. My only main complaint is that... more
Do not stay here if you like to sleep. The club downstairs seems to always be bumping, even in the middle of the week. This is my second stay here (gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time around) and it's the same story all over again - the bass trembles through the rooms and it goes on until at least 3 in the morning and now I'm still awake writing this review. I asked to switch... more
This was my first stay at Opus and I couldn't have been happier or more satisfied. The beds and pillows were so comfortable. That is a priority for me. The staff were incredibly helpful in all aspects. Assistance was given technically for my computer and my TV when needed in such a friendly and expeditious manner. Tea, coffee and beautiful green apples were available all the time in... more
Overall the hotel is great, staff are great, location is great! The only downsides: lighting & wireless. The rooms are VERY dimly lit, makes it difficult to see anything once the sun sets. Great ambiance if you are having a romantic escape, but if not its just irritating! (I am not old either!)
My only other critical feedback - why is free wireless not available in the rooms??? In the...

Very close walk to everything downtown, plus cheap beer/liquor stores, restaurants. The staff was very kind, helpful, and willing to give tips/advice on where to go or what to do. I loved the Montreal experience anyway, and if I come back, which I plan on doing, I am staying here. They set a low-key mood in our room everyday when we would get back from walking around. Not to mention the... more
Can you give NO STARS? Because that's what this place gets. In fact, Yelp, excuse me, institute a new thing, you need 5 piles of steaming s@!t graphics so I can give THE OPUS HOTEL a perfect 5 piles of s@!t. This place was awful entirely because of their staff. From the cold talking-head douche-tards at the reception computers to the biatch concierge to the Ronnie-esque f@!%!*t bouncers who... more
I has been the place I most like staying in Montreal for several years.
I stayed at the OPUS over the Thanksgiving long weekend for 4 nights. The location is excellent! Close to restaurants, bars, SAQ! Check-in was quick & easy, we received a room with a King bed on the 6th floor. The decor is modern and minimalistic. The bathroom is roomy, with a large walk-in shower. The front desk was fairly helpful, although when we requested ice, we did have to call a few... more
Far too noisy for this level of hotel, not made aware of parking fee, $15 for internet per day is ridiculous.
It's a very good hotel and expedia has a very good price
Only stayed one night, on a Monday. Noise from the street was not a problem at all, nor was noise from the bar below (we were on the 2nd floor). Great hotel, and excellent location if you want to be central to night life in Montreal. Rooms were exactly as advertised, and very comfortable.
We were very excited to be staying at a cute boutique hotel in Montreal until we actually got there. The lobby and restaurant are beautifully decorated, but the welcoming staff and check-in personnel were less than welcoming and did not seem to have very much information about their surrounding neighborhood in terms of highlights for entertainment and dining.
The rooms were poorly maintained...

Our trip was a little get away, and seeing old friends.... We visited many historic sites.... The churchs are amazing....I wish the noise level was better from our room... The location for us was awesome..Alot of nearby restaurants the we truly enjoyed... The staff very... more
The Opus was in an excellent location right in the heart of Montreal. The decor was modern - looking like an urban loft with large simple pieces of furniture maximizing the openness of the room, although the painting in the room was a bit too colorful for the rest of the decor. The bathroom was excellent with a large shower and great lighting. The hotel staff was very nice, exchanging some... more
Great getaway weekend. Super location with many restaurants and nightlife. Rooms more spacious than W hotel with same quality
Good service, even if the waitress didn't punch in my main course until the rest of my table was half way through theirs. The food is mediocre at best. Plain tuna tartar with a weird sweet glaze that, well, didn't go. The halibut wasn't fresh (fine, Montreal isn't a coastal city), the green beans were unfrozen and so heavily toped with CANOLA oil that you could smell it before even tasting.... more
Opus is a small relatively new hotel designed in a modern/post-modern motif; lots of glass, dark colors, and cool music. When we arrived the front desk staff quickly and politely checked us in. Our room was, of course, ready and very presentable; a welcoming oasis after a long car trip. The car park staff was extremely efficient, helpful and friendly; especially Tony. For a small hotel I found... more
I was here the first day of Jazz festival. Opus is a beautiful boutique hotel near eveything. I walked to the plaza where all of the venues were for the jazz festival. You are also near all of the trendy shops. Really delicious cafes and restauarants are also within walking distance. Chinatown is also close. I had amazing dim sum here on my last day. I loved the king size bed with the... more
This was the second time that i've stayed at this hotel. love it! very trendy hotel, great location (tons of bars and restaurants around), clean rooms, helpful staff (as i was out and about in montreal, i kept calling the hotel for addresses and directions to attractions/restaurants, they were always very helpful), awesome restaurant/lounge! What a pleasant surprise the Opus Hohtel Montreal turned out to be.
I had been a bit concerned about the "noise" factor mentioned in other reviews. Fortunately, I was put into a room on the 4th floor facing the quiet street side of the hotel. That said, the hotel bar is very happening and nice. Music is good, though loud, with an outdoor seating area.
The hotel allowed my friend to recharge...

this was a disaster from start to finish. we requested and paid for a room with 2 double beds. I phoned the day before to confirm this. when we arrived we were told no rooms with double beds, so we were given 2 rooms with ajoining doors over a bar disco so no one was able to sleep until 2 am. I phoned down and the staff said we would be able to change rooms the 2nd day-that happened. They said... more
I stayed here with my husband and our young baby - we had a fantastic experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing a crib and anything else we needed (even a yoga mat!). The room was very clean and well set-up. The decor was sexy without trying too hard, great bathroom/shower, and the bed and linens were comfy. We got a great rate as well, as we visited in... more
We dined at Koko Restaurant (the Hotel Opus's Restaurant) in August:I had the wakame salad whereas my girlfriend went for the beef tartare: from bites of it, her beef tartare was strongly seasoned but sported a very pleasant all flavorful mouthsome. The mint and basil touches of her tartare were great hits here: amazingly and refreshingly aromatic! While not being quite the hot spot that the W is, the Opus still manages to give you a lovely place to stay in a different part of the city. Be aware that it can get noisy at night, but... more
much attention to detail - English language newspaper outside door, umbrella in room to use, restaurant adjacent, directions home to NYC from Concierege/Manager
Great hotel, modern design, friendly and professional staff, quick entry into one of Montreal's hottest nightclubs. However, the average age at the hotel is very young and as such late night noise complaints are to be expected.
On check-in was given a room with a single queen though I booked two doubles.Room was fine. Same as rooms under previous owner (Hotel Godin?).The valet damaged the transmission in my car. I had a fully-functional transmission when I arrived and no longer had a reverse gear after leaving. Nobody at the hotel is interested in speaking to me about this problem even after 6 phone calls.Stay... more
very beautiful, trendy and edgy hotel. However the ear plugs provided by the hotel are useful. However, who needs to sleep in Montreal?
this is a typical Schrager wannabe.staff is really helpful - but management clearly lets them down, which they will admit.the great efforts of the staff is undermined by the hotel running a night club that is clearly successful but closes at 3AM Fri/Saturday, which blares out music at rather full blast. as a result it was uncomfortable loud in my room. i contact staff who kindly moved me, the... more
The best thing about this hotel was its close proximity to the metro line and St. Laurent Ave. The staff were friendly but not invasive, which is always nice. Our room faced Sherbrooke Ave. and was actually quite noisy due to it being a busy street and across a big gas station. Also there were parties at the hotel restaurant Koko on the first floor, which added thumping music to the street... more
Great hotel in a location that is central to city attractions, and there are 3 public bicycle stations within a few blocks of the hotel. During the week the atmosphere was quiet and mellow; however, the weekend nights were very "clubby" with the outdoor bar rocking until 3 in the morning! Earplugs are provided by the hotel as there is no escaping the noise without them! I would stay here again.
I wish they had a swimming pool...the location was perfect for walking to the Museum of Fine Arts, the Old Montreal as well as a cluster of great restaurants-2 blocks. the real jewel was a small bakery were we had breakfast every day- 2 blocks from the hotel. the restaurant adjacent to the hotel is great; food and service
The new glamorous Koko Restaurant makes her home in the Opus Hotel in Montreal. Lounge in the terrace where there is plenty of room for sun soaking in the afternoon or nuzzling a lover's ear in the moonlight. In the Grand Salon, an electric green runway cuts through the stark-white room while bold furniture and statues stare back at you, like the giant horse lamp and the table garden gnome. Loved this hotel, it is beautiful, the staff are super friendly and the location was perfect. We literally walked down the street(closed off) to the jazz festival. Although we didn't eat at the resteraunt, it's outdoor lounge was perfect for drinks. Can't wait to stay again
