The cost of food is average. Ingredients is pretty good. Space can be tight in some places but spacious in others (e.g. the booths). Bbt is average but they do give you a little more than average for their slushes but those can cost from $5.50 to $6.25 (fresh fruit ones).

The rice dishes are best shared as the portions are huge and priced around $12. Their noodle bowls are over priced starting... more

Servings are huuuuuge! Depending on what you ordered, the food can come either too fast or too slow. This a great place to hang out with your friends, especially for those late night cravings. ALWAYS packed on weekend nights though.

This is my 3rd visit within 2 months. The food here is plated pretty big the bubble tea here is great as well especially the tall ones. Frequent orders from us are the deep fried squid tentacles, fried rice with fried chicken nuggets, and bubble tea. This time around I ordered home style friend noodles with lamb. Again huge portions, very decent. Would definitely recommend this place to other... more

Portions are huge. I ordered a fried rice, and it could probably feed a family of four. Overall, they seem to emphasize quantity over quality.
Service was also sub-par: One of our friends had an issue with her meal and the waiter did not care help fix it. While we were talking to the manager about what was wrong, the waiter, who was behind the counter, called over his buddies from the kitchen... more

PROS:

- massive drinks
- large portions, reasonable price
- fun upbeat atmosphere, great for a party

CONS:

- Quality of food is mediocre
- Without fail, every time I go there either someone in my party or myself finds hair in their food. Keep in mind I've only been there about 4 or 5 times over the last 3 years but the hair in the food thing has happened every time. They're usually pretty... more

Quantity over Quality. Not to say the quality is bad.. it isn't.. it's pretty good.. if you put this in Seattle it'll be excellent.. but in Vancouver, in the land of glorious Asian food, the quality is just A-Ok. definitely tasty lunch.. but the quantity is ginormous.. you see the photos here.. but basically you get wayyyyy more than you can possibly finish.

I kinda wish you would reduce... more

Have you ever had a giant one foot tall slush??
Great eats here. Many many favourites to choose from. It's easy to over order!! Thank goodness for take out containers!!
Slightly over priced for what it is, but the food does taste yummy!

Ah, The One. How I have a love-hate relationship with you! I love, love, love your gigantic towers of slush, your amazing salty-peppery crispy chicken nuggets, and the humongous portion sizes!! I recently visited you after a horrible fallout, and fell in love all over again with one sip of my fresh taro slush. I love your oily, heavily flavored Taiwanese food. It's indulgent and filling,... more

I haven't return to The One for a long time. I went there for quick luck and thought time to write another update review.

Their specialty high stacked bubble tea is watered down to have enough slush to make it tower off. But, I don't like icy cold drink even though in summer time.

Overall, the food quality went down but giant portion remain the same. My stomach can't handle MSG food anymore.

This is supposedly the best Taiwanese restaurant in Burnaby. Place is always packed but after their recent price hike the foot traffic decreased significantly. I mean some of their hot pot dishes are priced at $19 which is pretty ridiculous but the upside is less lineup. I have no complaints about their food, they should just reduce their serving size to compensate. Their beef noodle is... more

The food is not good here but have to say the portions are huge. I have ordered fried rice here and it was huge with lots of rice that will feed 4 people. HOwever, its mostly rice. The drinks are huge no doubt as well. especially the shaved ice. But again, you are paying more than any other places. So is it worth it? Depends how you look at it.

Takes a while to be seated as its always busy!. Servers are a bit slow however if you want a treat! Get any of the slush bubble teas.~ PS: you will need to share with someone as they are HUGE, comes with a extra cup haha. Food isn't bad. Deep Fried Chicken is good and any of the rice dishes are great too! =)

Best place in Burnaby to share a good bubble tea. Open late and lots of bang for your buck. When my colleagues and I are late to eat and don't want to eat Mc Donalds or Wendy's 'The One' is a good late night alternative to Dennys for a sit down eating. Service is a a hit and miss during late hours but I don't hold it against the waiters/waitresses because they are obviously tired.

First of all- expect the service to be terrible. The servers literally don't see you, throw the menus down on the table, and are expressionless at best. Food wise- prices are a bit higher but portions are big, and 1 dish is plenty for 2 people. The slushes are absolutely huge and I recommend sharing 1 slush between 2-3 people! So therefore if you share a dish and a drink between two people, you... more

I think the only thing that differs from other bubble tea joints is the portion size. You can easily split a rice dish and appetizer between 2-3 people (depending how hungry you are).

Dishes are consistent. Nothing mind blowing, but always good every time I've visited. My go-to items are fried squid ($7), deep fried nuggets ($7) and chicken fried rice ($10). Kimchi fried rice is also good, but... more

Remember coming here on several occasions as friends wanted to go. Parking was okay, usually there are spots in the plaza and also closely on the size. Restaurant is really big and has spacious seats (although could probably fit a lot more tables with smaller furniture); comfortable though.

From the moment you walk in you feel comfortable, the atmosphere is inviting, great for couples as there's music and friendly staff. Tried this restaurant based on the fact that it's always busy. It can take time to be seated... But the wait is well worth it!

We come here regularly as its close to home (I prefer bubble world but it's a bit further and cash only which makes it an extra trip to the atm)
The food is good. Fried chicken nuggets is good and has good flavor but it's quite greasy (actually everything is quite greasy) the beef noodle soup is good, the bubble tea is good. Generally the food and drink are standard quality but big portions.

Whoah, all their food prices (for main meals) have skyrocketed by a few bucks!! Come here for BBT & Dessert or snacks - skip this place overall if you are looking for a meal, cuz the meals are bland and way overpriced.

Chicken nuggets were yummy and beef noodle was okay. I ordered flank and tendon beef noodle, tendon wasn't cooked long enough. Should've been tender not rubbery.

Superb food quality over the years but recently not as consistent. The last time the grass jelly I ordered with bubble tea was hard and chunky. Price rose over the years too. Very loud when busy. Food:
Hungry after a karaoke session down the street, I was hungry for a bowl of noodles, so I ordered the Braised Beef Flank with Noodle In Soup. I'd give a 2.5 / 5 rating if I could, because everything about this place is mediocre. As such, there is no need to comment on the food and the prices, but the service deserves special mention for its appalling inconsistency.

This is a fun, fun, fun place to go to with a big group. The ambience is lively and the decor very modern. The service however, does not deserve 5 stars. I am rating this entirely base on the food. The hostess needs lots of training seating people. Very hard to get their attention once you have ordered.

Their famous bubble tea towers are overrated at best and slushes just taste like flavoured ice. For $6 a pop, you are paying for quantity, not quality. It was yet another post-sports Friday evening and a bunch of us were hungry and thirsty. Since it was around 10:30pm and we had a sweaty party of 8, our options were limited in the Metrotown area. Despite being rather busy, we were able to snag a table at The One without too much of a wait.
