We often go into this pub with our friends from our walking club. Service is good. I don't know how they do it, but whoever hires and trains is doing a good job.
We used to go there after but due to bad issues with the son in law owning the pub now, we will never go there again.
We also had to watch the waitresses to not add drinks to our bills often, when we where in a group. To many times we where forced to pay for drinks we never ordered to get out of this pub.
The food is not the best either we tried multiple times to find things but the quality...

My new favourite pub in Richmond. After a very disappoint experience at another local competitor recently I was hoping to find another watering hole to frequent when I am feeling thirsty.
Well my hunt ended up here, a pub I have driven by in the past and have never been to before. Came here earlier this afternoon, and decided to have "the hangover" brunch and a beer. The meal consisted with...

Best burger I have ever had! I don't know what it is about this burger..maybe it's the buttery brioche bun..but it's the bomb! Food here in general is good but seems over priced for such a dark old place.
Service is mediocre..looks like they prefer to cater to regulars...leave a big tip and they are all smiles too bad your on your way out at that point.
Good food terrible service. Sunday evening and there's maybe 15 people in the pub with one guy behind the bar and two waitresses on the floor. We ordered our food which came quickly and hot, after that the service died!! Our waitress spent all her time chatting with the other waitress about her outfit in stead of checking her tables. After receiving our first drinks she never came back to ask... more
I love this place, food is great. The service is really awesome. But the food is a little greasy but overall good place
I live close by and decided to give this joint another attempt. Really I don't understand all of the fuss. This Pub is by any measure remarkably unremarkable. The service was okay I guess. My welcome consisted of " do I know what I want yet" terse perhaps but she was there quickly.
Like my first experience the table was sticky and I mean dirty sticky. I didn't have any food but what I saw...

Dropped in for lunch on a blustery Saturday.
I had the fish and chips with mushy peas. The peas were really quite good. The fish was good and the fries were OK. For a place so close to Steveston Village though it, might need a bit of an upgrade to compete.
My partner had the goat cheese salad and that was great.
I've been to Ohare's a couple of times in the last couple of weeks and I have to...

Good spot with a convenient beer & wine store attached. Friendly service with a real neighbourhood vibe. Now that minors can come in for lunch even better. The only downside here is price. Very expensive for pub food. My friend brought her 3 kids and they ordered 2 or 3 appies and shared a burger (had pops) and it was $80 with tip. Wowsers. You could go to the Cactus Club for that kind of... more
I've been eating wings on Wednesdays at the Buck for a while, but today I finally tried them at OHare's because they have a licence that allows me to bring my daughter, a minor, in before 10pm.
To be honest, I was disappointed; their wings are more expensive, have less selection for flavours, and were greasy and not the best tasting chicken. The side vegetables (at extra cost and even a dollar...

Friendly neighbourhood pub near the historic Steveston district. No, this place isn't named after the airport in Chicago
Parking is available in the lot out front, but it fills up. In that case, there is parking along No.1.
The pub is your typical Irish themed establishment, with sports on all of the TV screens. There is a cool vintage 1980s arcade in the corner, with several coin-op...

Mediocre food, too expensive for what you get. Fries are little tiny bits, burger was below average. The last 3 times I have eaten here it has been so so. Looks like a lot of the food is pre packaged and heated up. I will not be giving this place another try. After 18 years of coming here I am moving on!
But this isn't exactly a hot spot. They do have the market cornered tho. What else is around there? Women? I wish. I still go into action but they don't have the best here frankly.
same old same old menu but that is what we want right boys? Prices are average and that is high enough when we want to wine (beers here actually) the girls and get past first base. I bring a couple a my own but one waitress is not h@!%!*n the eyes. They can do better. Long Live Pubs and the purpose they serve.
I used to live three doors down from this place so maybe I'm a bit biased.
Drink prices are standard, food is great and I think I've been conditioned to only eat hot wings from this place.
They have taken good measures over the year to update the ambiance.
I've lived in the neighbourhood for years but I've never bothered going to O'Hares, partly because it looks sketchy-ish on the outside and partly because when I was in high school, I heard my high school teachers making plans to go.
That really takes the cool and interesting out of a place for a newly legal drinker.
I'm now a (couple) decades away from that girl and I've noticed a change at...

I've been here twice and have loved it on both occasions. Fantastic pub fare, and a crazy Caesar that practically counts as its own appetizer. Great food, great atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back.
The pub does not look special when you walk in but you are quickly forced to change your mind! The staff here is wonderful and is always looking to make sure you are very well taken care of. The food here is great with all kinds of different pub fare to choose from. The choices are pretty standard but the taste of the food is not. The bar is a big supporter of the craft beer scene with quite a... more
Great neighbourhood pub. Food menu has your classic homemade meat pies, mushy peas as well as pub standards - nachos, burgers, steak etc. They have nightly specials so there's always something new to try. Their craft beer menu is pretty good and now, they're having Friday Night Beers highlighting a new tap.
And, if you haven't been to their adjoining liquor store, they have the best selection...

Good place for a pint of Guiness. Prime-Rib Sundays go fast. Check out Chalk-board daily specials...was pleasantly surprised by a very good Sticky Toffee Pudding once!
Had the steak and mushroom pie with salad and fries. The steak in the pie was plentiful and fork tender. The gravy was fairly flavorful and was the right consistency. I wish the pastry on the top, although good, was a larger piece of puff pastry, since there's no bottom crust. The fries were hopelessly mediocre. Tasted frozen and were undercooked. The salad was lettuce only and came dressed,... more
Menu is boring compared to a lot of the other pubs,... been the same for years.
Really craved a burger and this was nearby at the time. As far as the half pound steak burger was concerned, I would not change a thing. It was perfect. Caesar was nice and romaine was very fresh and not overdressed. Coffee was ok. Service was quite good. I definately recommend this place to anyone craving a burger!!!!!!!
Came here Friday night and ordered a Westcoast Seafood Sandwich with fries. Others at the table ordered a Reuben and pasta. Food was all right but did not have very much flavour.
What really struck me was the noise. Fair enough it's an Irish pub on a Friday night, but the place was half empty when we arrived. The talking and television were very, very loud and we had to shout at each other to...

This is one of the first pub's I ever tried in Richmond and I'm happy to say that it is still a favourite. The food is well above average for a neighbourhood bar. I like the blarney stone touch outside....kind of different for that part of Richmond.
The service is friendly and relaxed. It's always nice to be able to go to a place, sit down, and relax. It has ample parking, a good atmosphere,...

I found the food and service to be really reasonable. Too bad this place doesn't have very stellar reviews because I liked it!
I had the Mac and Cheese with fries (caaaaaaaaaaaarbs) and my boyfriend had a burger and fries. Pretty standard pub food, but it was tasty and the portions were huge. I even had leftovers to take home. My boyfriend had to have his burger taken back and replaced and the...

Food and service were lousy. Yam fries were soggy. The burger was store bought, preformed, previously frozen, and exceedingly overpriced for what they're serving. (Seriously, you can't make your own burgers in house? How damned hard is that to do?). The vinaigrette on the salad was tasty, but the greens were lifeless and wilted.
This place just smacks of cutting corners and not giving the...

In about May or June 2010 (I don't know exactly when), O'Hare's put the word "gastropub" on their website and changed their menu from the laminated broadsheet with Celtic knot borders, to a leather-look trifold with photo corners to hold the new narrower sheets. And it's a pretty interesting menu, though not always in a good way. I can't think of any circumstance, for instance, that would... more
Had dinner there tonight, waitress was attentive and friendly, it had a nice atmosphere, servered good Irish food and I noticed a few rarer beers on the menu. There is a nice outdoor area as well. My father said it was the best beef dip he's had and the dinner special I had of seafood pasta was delicious.
I live close to this bar and hadn't been in for a few years because it has never really impressed me compared to other local bars, However I figured it was time for a return trip recently. Food is overpriced and average at best with small portions of halibut and even smaller portion of chips for $14-Ridiculous. It didn't help there was a guy close by who felt it necessary to talk so loudly that... more
One of my favourite Irish pubs, this place is always busy. Whenever you have a craving for bar food, this is the place to go!
Service is very decent and there's plenty of space here for lots of people. During the day it's a little less crowded and equally good. I'd highly recommend it for an after work hang out spot if you're in the neighbourhood.
The parking lot can get filled up pretty...

....small, old, obsolete TV's...not a place to go if you intend to check out a sporting event while enjoying a pint....Decent food however and good service.
