Haven't stayed here for about 6 years, and it was like coming home! It's an older hotel but very well kept up, excellent, friendly staff, the rooms are spacious enough, and very quiet if you're not on the street side, although the street side isn't too bad. Had a few meals in their restaurant, food is pretty good. It's about... more
Dined at The Wood Tavern & Grill with family on Tuesday for the rib special. Great value at $13.99 - includes the full rack of ribs and a side. The ribs and tender and tasty with a nice bit of zip to them. I don't think you can get a full rack of ribs for $13.99 at any of the... more
recently I had a business meeting at this hotel and 6 of us spent the weekend there

Clean, quiet, comfortable - nice home away from home. Tiled bathroom, great bed, all the amenities needed. Close to many services (bank, shops, spa, etc.). Jolly Friar restaurant is a delight (rustic cottage country vibe). I've stayed in bigger hotels and enjoyed them less!
A good choice for Winnipeg. I don't think you would be disappointed.
First off a very good location and within walking distance to bars, restaurants, etc. Minutes away from The Forks....a National Historic site of Canada. And why not? It has been frequented for 6,000 (!!) years by natives. Now it is full of places to eat, has a lovely market,...

This a nice hotel in down town Winnipeg. It is not very large but has all the amenities you need. It is a conference center as well as a hotel. It is attached to a restaurant and bar. If you want there are a lot of down town activities not very far away.
Well, very happy to find a Hotel downtown, location is very good. Stayed on the 5th floor. The carpet is a bit tired. The coffee machine burped coffee grounds all over the counter, I have a Keurig at home so I don't think it's me. Then the weirdest whistling sound from the shower faucets. I'm sure my early morning shower... more
1st time with this hotel but we will be back + have told our friends about it as well. Chose it for the location (close to the grandchildren) but was won over by the restaurant + bar. Wanted to find a place close to the downtown area and away from the airport chains..... Ok so it's not affiliated with any of the major brands. And the building seems quite older...... Have been using this place for years when visiting Winnipeg. Started using when visiting on business, now also use when on visiting area on own time. Stayed here one night on a business trip. Nice clean hotel in a good central location.
check in was quick and easy, room was clean and comfortable, wifi worked well, and lots of good restaurants in the area. Reasonably priced. would stay again.
Stayed here about a half a dozen times and was pleased each time. Close to St. Boniface hospital , and great restaurants such as Pasqualis and Santa Lucia .beer store in parking lot and liquor store a cross the street. Also very quiet, nice people at check in, secure parking lot. Would recommend.
Stayed here for a couple of days while were exploring Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The room was not large, but came with a micro and refr. Liked that the shower facilities and dressing sink were separated. Stayed on an upper floor which was quiet and non-smoking. Bed was extremely comfortable. Hotel is within walking distance of The Forks which is kind... more
There were pluses and minuses with this hotel. I rated it overall as a good 2 star. The parking is plentiful and free. I've stayed at the Norwood Hotel on my last three trips to Winnipeg. I was in Winnipeg for business, and stayed here as all the large hotels were booked. This hotel is a medium sized business located close to (but not in) the downtown. There are a few useful shopping within walking distance (eg pharmacy). The room was large and clean.

The Norwood Hotel provides clean and comfortable accommodations. My family stayed for five nights this summer while visiting extended family in Winnipeg. We booked this after being unable to book our regular Hotel Inn on the Forks. This hotel is clean, walking distance to the Forks and is inexpensive. We'll be staying here on all future visits to Winnipeg. Bonus is that it has a great restaurant for breakfast.

I would like to see a fridge in the rooms as at times it comes in handy. Also a nice bench out front for people to sit on would be quite nice.
The beds were comfortable.

The bar was dark and dated. The restaurant was unappealing. The bathroom in our room was poorly lit. I couldn't see a thing!

I had selected a king size (bed) room and got a double queen, which did not suit my purposes as it was an overnight get away with partner. No fridge in the room. Tiny bathroom. I had left something in the room and went back for it the next afternoon and there was no one at the front desk for a full 5 minutes.

I chose this hotel for its proximity to the downtown area of Winnipeg and for the parking lot that was able to accommodate my trailer. Overall a great stay, rooms were nice- probably one of the most comfortable mattresses I've ever slept on!
The location of this property , closed to the hospital, made us pick this property. Overall the staff is friendly and helpfull, the rooms and hallways are clean except super dirty carpets. Lots of roadnoise but closed to St. Boniface hospital and The Forks.

We checked in about 3:30 pm on Saturday. I am hearing impaired and my wife felt I was not treated as considerately as I might have been by the gentleman staffing the front desk. When I did not understand him, he did not speak up or purposely face me.
We were here for a group booking, a Scottish group so we really watch our pennies.

We were just passing through Winnipeg and stayed here for the night.

Stayed here on business recently and my immediate reaction was not a good one...the looby was really shabby, floor needed a mopping and the overall layout was really poor. “I was impressed with the banquet rooms and the fact that even though there was a wedding party staying on the same floor as I was, I never heard a peep or disturbance of any kind. Clean, comfortable hotel, with friendly staff, and the best hotel restaurant food we've ever had. We were in Winnipeg for medical reasons and found the Health Sciences Centre was only a ten minute taxi ride away, and bus transportation was easily accessible. We definitely would stay at the Norwood again.
It is not the fanciest hotel I have been to, but the bed is comfortable and the room is clean. It is in Saint-Boniface, so it is close to different attraction.
My wife and i choose this hotel through a referral. We arrived late at night to a very friendly welcome. The beds were extremely comfortable. We used the restaurant and bar and had a blast!
We went ahead and stayed at this hotel on the recommendation of one family member. Having never heard of it before, we were prepared to take what the place offered regardless of how well or how little it met with our usual expectations (which are quite reasonable).

My stay here was very relaxing. I liked this hotel because of the location and proximity to downtown. Highly recommend.
I really used to favour a stay at this hotel with its proximity to downtown, a great bar and staff along with a reasonable array of food service in bar and reastaurant settings. In an

Pleasantly surprised by the Norwood. It's a nicely appointed city-style hotel, with modern decor - navy and brick colors make for a rich appearance. My expectations were quite high, given the numerous positive reviews. I don't quite understand why so many people rated this hotel 5 out of 5 or even 4 out of 5.
