As an experienced and easy going traveler, I expected there to be zero problems for a quick night's rest before heading up to whistler.
Unfortunately, the baseness of the motel was only surpassed by the baseness of the owner's manners.
Being rude to customers is not a good idea when representing a motel like this one. What is going to bring them back? The smelly rooms? The old worn down...

My family was staying here while traveling through Vancouver. We got two rooms for 5 people. One of the rooms smelled strongly of smoking and chemicals (we asked for non smoking ) in the other room we found a small bug crawling in the sheets. Very offensive owner. When my family (party of 5 booked two rooms through Expedia) tried to get breakfast, the owner yelled and demanded to see breakfast... more
So it's our first time to visit Canada, we got recommend for this hotel by a family friend. Great hotel awesome service and great location as for the reason we don't give it a 5 star was due to us asking a simple question to get the sheets changed in front of us and he refused he kept insisting the sheets are clean and etc so we let it go and went with his word as soon as we got into our room... more

We had a great stay here even when they had a power outage. Subir, who was there when we checked in, was so welcoming and accommodating. We landed late and arrived around 11pm at night and this part of Canada was experiencing a pretty big storm. A fallen tree cut off power to some parts of the city, and it just so happened that our building with this hotel...

Definitely a motel. But our room is clean, free wifi, fridge, microwave. The clerks were very nice and informative. The floors are tile, but clean. Pets are allowed. Haven't tried breakfast. The traffic is bad vining and going over the bridge. But it's a good value if you have a cat. That way you can go when and where you want. We would definitely stay here again.
This is not the most glamorous hotel, but it does the job if you are on a budget. It is advertised as a hotel, but to be honest, the setup of it is really more like a motel... they have various little buildings and all the room doors face outside towards the parking lot. However, I will say that the rooms are clean and functional, so you won't hear any complaints from me about that. They also... more
Hotel was in good location for us for recent weekend stay. Everything was good. The breakfast was busy at times poorly organized. Eggs were cold.
Loved this place. It's a bit older but everything was clean and well maintained. No complaints here. The staff were amazing and the included breakfast was a lovely bonus with delicious fresh cut fruit and hot items. I love the location, walked to the huge shopping mall nearby with the Whole Foods store. Also we ran the entire 50 km Baden Powell trail and my son was able to use this as a perfect... more
Room was average, but hotel staff were super helpful. I talked to the front desk almost every morning before heading out for the day. They gave me very useful tips on how to use transit and nice places to visit.
Is very close from the capilano bridge and grouse mountain. The people was very nicr they gave good information about turist in vancouver
Very loud, uncomfortable beds, floor falling apart in the bathroom and uneven in the room. Free breakfast - not very tasty.
Very conveniently located. Comfortable bed and free breakfast was good enough.
It's one of the cheaper options when you do Vancouver, but it tries to mix upscale with casual, which doesn't work all the time. Enter the Vancouver Hotel in North Vancouver.
I'll try to be nice about it, but a hotel it's trying to be, it ain't. At least, not a full service 3 star minimum hotel. I was here for one night during my 5 night stay in Vancouver, BC. After crossing the land border...

Good Enjoyed the location, it had easy Hwy access, it was close to Capilano suspension bridge and Grouse Mountain, easy access to Vancouver Proper, great location, the complimentary breakfast was good, and actually included eggs, sausage, ham, toast, juices, coffee, tea, etc. very good selection for a complimentary breakfast. Bad-ish the book describing amenities could be updated and... more
There were ants crawling across the night table and the room smelled terrible. great location but the smell was not worth the stay.
Enjoyed the stay. Will stay there again. Rooms clean. Not a fancy hotel, deceint prices. Glad to see they take pets.
We were pleased with our stay at this hotel. Easy to get to, and a quick drive to Stanley Park. Great price which included free wifi, breakfast and parking.
Room smelled HEAVILY of cleaning/perfume products (gastly), very HEAVY smell!!! It took almost the whole stay to thin out. The place was decently clean but we almost packed up and left because of the heavy perfumed room. Staff didn't clean around the coffee pot and kept leaving us de-caf coffee and/or forgot to leave coffee at all. Basically just made the bed and left clean towels. Carpet was... more
There are several bus stops within an extremely short walking distance to get you anywhere you need to visit. There are stops right outside the hotel itself to travel further into North Van. Traveling from YVR to the hotel was a breeze and didn't take long at all, maybe a half hour - forty minutes. I personally think the location couldn't be beat. There's a Tim Hortons around the corner, 10... more
ダウンタウンからは少し離れていますが、従業員の方も親切でとても快適に過ごすことができました。部屋も広くきれいでした。朝食の内容も満足のいくもので、しっかりしたホテルだと思います。
The hotel was nice for the price and close to what I wanted to see
It was a great stay, will for sure return.
Chose the Hotel because it was fairly close to where we would be visiting for three days.. nice rooms, comfortable beds.. a musty smell - had to open windows. Breakfast was not very good. Eggs were a weird texture - too watery. Pancake machine needs clearer instructions to NOT open the lid.. lol! Other than that - staff is wonderful, nice and quiet area.
I have stayed at the North several times. My son is in school in North Vancouver and I find the location, price, amenities, and free parking to be a perfect match for my needs. Last fall, I brought my parents, who are in their late 80s, to the hotel. We has 2 rooms on the ground floor. The convenient location meant that everyday we could come back for a nap. My father discovered a lovely walk... more
Great small personal hotel, my wife, dog nd I enjoyed the stay. Have been staying there a number of times
the stuff were ok not wonderful and hotel,s location was good. breakfast was terrible! it was really not worth a penny. hotel is near downtown.
Fine for just a place to sleep. Beds were firm and comfortable and there were lots of pillows. Heater was a it noisy. Breakfast was adequate - one of those you have to remind yourself, "well at least it's free". Be sure to look for the very small dining room on the left side of the lobby. Some who didn't know about it were shivering at the picnic tables outside. Good pizza place right across... more
If there are people staying in a room above you, it's very loud and you can hear their every footstep. Sound insulation between walls is somewhat poor as well, but not a big issue unless the people next door are loud talkers etc. Bed is on the firm side. Not bad for the price and location but I don't suggest for light sleepers.
Staff were very nice, but I was not impressed with the room. There was a definite musty smell as soon as you opened the door and the bathroom tub and shower condition were disgusting. Will never stay there again and could not get out fast enough
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was clean, and I have a small toddler who gets into things, and our room was safe for him. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating for me when I wanted to change rooms to be beside a family member of mine who was also staying at the hotel. There was plumbing issues at the hotel during our stay. The water was shut off to our building for a few... more
Better than expected with friendly staff at reception desk.
It wasn't a bad stay, we only did one night, both bathroom and bedroom are very clean, does have a bit of an 'old smell' but not to make a big deal out of. Near road but can't hear it, good night sleep, I certainly feel you need a car with... more
Had a short family vacation, our room was spotless, location excellent, facilities good, breakfast was a good value and it was nice to be able to eat and get out for the day first thing in the morning with minimal effort on our part. It is more convenient with a car. Close to downtown and Stanley park.
Excellent location to all the North activities like Capilano Bridge, Grouse Mountain, Whistler and to downtown Vancouver. Room is specious, very comfortable beds and excellent cont. breakfast w/ eggs and pancakes.
We had two rooms for three nights. On both nights 2 & 3 we had to go to the office to get our key cards corrected, and there was no apology for the inconvenience. The last time we stayed there, this happened one night as well (tho that time there was an apology).
Had a lovely stay at the North Vancouver Hotel. Rates were very affordable, room was clean, and the location is excellent (2 minute walk to the bus stop and a further 10 minutes to downtown). Staff was most helpful with extra linens for child crib. Microwave and fridge were nice extras. Breakfast, though not included in our package, looked excellent.
Alles was man braucht....super Aufenthalt. Super Frühstück...bequeme Betten.
Had 2 adjoining rooms - each with 2 queen beds - for 3 adults & 2 kids. Lots of room. Beds & pillows were so comfortable it was hard to get up for the inclusive breakfast. Stayed 3 nights & received a 30% discount. Great value for the $.
The cable channels were very limited, many channels were unavailable even for basic cable... Scrolling to find an available channel was very annoying. The hotel and its surroundings were very clean and the kitchenette in the room was excellent.
We had a great time in Vancouver. The motel is nicely located to a variety of attractions. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are very clean.
The hotel was in a good location for us, included breakfast. I think the breakfast room should be larger, there was a bus load of people in the room when we were there so it was a tight squeeze. No inside tables, they were outside and the heaters weren't on. We took our breakfast to our room so had no interaction with others.
Vancouver hotels are generally overpriced, so to find good value is great. The only downside of this place was that it was in North Vancouver, which could be considered as a suburb I suppose. However; this is not much of a downside at all, you are still only a few minutes away from downtown, you are in a much safer and quieter neighbourhood, and you still have all the amentities around you.... more
Good service at desk and rooms are decent.... Breakfast bar is pretty horrid though. There were a few crumbs we could have had but went to Denny's across the street.
This hotel has a small dining room in my room. So it is very convenient for cook, especially it is good for family. The price is also fairly well saticefied compared to nearby other hotels.
Pool was closed for the season. Thermostat would not adjust - so room was quite hot and kept kicking in at night, even when we lowered. Staff was adequate... We required a boost to our car and they suggested we call a cab! And they couldn't be bothered to help directly or ask other guests. Location worked well for where we needed to be for the wknd - I don't imagine it would be that convenient... more
Great Value and was satisfactory in most areas. Didn't want to spend a fortune in town and this fit the bill. Would stay again. Easy access to most places.
it was very cramped ,extremely small bathroom but it was clean, wouldn't stay again, standing space in the bathroom was about 4sq ft. make sure you put the toilet lid down. breakie was no great hell.
I have never been in some other hotels in Vancouver. however, These are some problens with this hotel. 1- The breakfast was out of Cheese. This is not a three or four star hotel but, if you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the North Vancouver area, this is it. Easy access to freeway. We are travelling from Calgary to Tofino and needed a room, booked through expedia for two nights. like to avoid the chain restaurants, but front desk had few suggestions for local neighbourhood food.
Not a place I would ever stay again. Old and dirty. Breakfast was very disappointing. The amount of food that was prepared was enough for 15 people. Parking was inadequate very cramped. Spend a few more dollars and stay somewhere else.
Stayed 2 nights at this hotel while I visited a friend in North Vancouver,

The rooms are clean and comfortable. You can explore Vancouver from this location without paying double the price to be in the downtown area, yet you can be downtown in 15 minutes. Parking is free.

Booked this hotel before leaving the UK as it was conveniently located. It's pretty standard fare but the guy on front desk deserves a mention for his helpful service and local knowledge.

Wow, complementary breakfast was the best we have had by far on our month long stay in Canada. The room was clean, spacious and no road noise annoying us. We would definately stay here again and recommend the hotel to anyone.

We didn't need anything fancy, just a place to stay while in North Vancouver for a dance competition. This hotel was clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and the location is great! A very pleasant stay!
We stayed here for three days the staff were great the room was tidied and bed was made daily and it was quiet. Great location and only a short bus ride to Grouse Mountain and Capilano suspension bridge. Breakfast was a little average but it's eatable all in all we would go back anytime.
My wife and I stayed very recently at the hotel for 14 nights. The staff were excellent but the hotel itself was only average and noisy. Nothing I really didn't like
I found the "hotel" to be more of a motel-style with the leasing, dining, and conference room area in a separate building. I did find the staff to be quite pleasant. The price and location
Staff at reception. Did not get wake up call that we requested on two occasions. Also 100 dollars debited to my Credit card that was not explained or agreed and is still not resolved at time of this survey
She's an oldie, but a goodie. The place was clean and well presented and the staff were most helpful. It is an older style Hotel that is in a good location and if you don't have any delusions of grandeur, then you will have a comfortable and well priced stay.
Having never stayed at a Travelodge, we were pleasantly surprised and pleased with the accommodations. Despite the convenient but very busy location, the area was nice and quiet. If you're looking for a decent, quiet room, this motel offering comfortable accommodations. Earl's Restaurant is right next door and serves very good food.

Ice machine location. Hidden ,dark, scary.
Breakfast staff angry.
Seating for breakfast hard to find and stupid location when found.
The content of the breakfast.
The location of my room, 10 ft from a busy road.
The front desk clerk at check in. I had to change my reservation, and he used the term"No-show", in my opinion unacceptable, because it's untrue. I would not subject myself again to such treatment.
Nähe zur Capilano suspension bridge. Preisgünstig.

Not very much
$200 a night for a mediocre to poor hotel. We could hear the road noises very clearly, all night.

Staff were friendly
Good location for our purpose this trip
Parking was tight
A bit pricey for the calibre of hotel - to our minds it is actually a motel
We stayed here for 2 night before our cruise to Alaska. The room was spacious and comfortable, dining was close by and it was pretty quite. There is a great Sushi place up the road and their prices are quite the deal !
The location and the price are the two good criteria for staying there. The rooms were clean and the equipments were well cleaned and provided.
The staff at the entrance was so rude to us and since we were a group of friends staying there, we ignored the guy completely who seemed to be the manager, but we didn't receive a warm greeting which was disappointing.
I enjoyed two weeks here in May 2013 and found the room to be large and have everything required. Cleaning was fine, breakfast was average but could do with more variety. Great value, clean, helpful staff and a quiet place to relax or to rest. We enjoyed the daily breakfast very much. It made life easier to start our day with our young children.
The lack of long term-stay rate, the loyal customers need to be rewarded by providing better rate for longer stay.

The location was right down the road from the bridge. The rooms and lobby were very outdated. Breakfast was less than average. Seating for breakfast was less than desirable. The view of surrounding area was pretty.
This is an independently owned motel and attention to detail and pride of ownership were evident throughout the property. This hotel is great. Whilst it is an older establishment it is clean and comfortable and in a central location to North Vancouver (also only 10 mins drive to downtown). The suites with kitchenettes are very handy if you like to make your own food. All of the front desk staff we encountered were friendly and very helpful- Shamail in... more
Huge rooms and very friendly staff. We were visiting Vancouver for 1 night and chose North Vancouver Hotel for it's location and price. Free parking and breakfast included were also necessary. We had room 220 away from the street and it was very quiet. I only wish there was some kind of covering on the window near the closet (it's... more
My husband & I enjoyed a two night stay last weekend. We picked this property for it's location and price. I was visiting some friends in North Vancouver & my husband went skiing at Cypress so the location was perfect (we had a car). We were very impressed with what we received for what we paid for (approx $150 CAD... more
Horrible Hotel!! I mean the location is good and everything but the service was poor. The food was mediocre and the room wasnt clean. When i was checking in it took them half an hour to get my room ready and when i got into the room it wasnt clean at all. The floor hadnt been vacuumed, seemed like they were rushing. Will not go here again.
I have no clue what some of these reviewers are writing, but I visit Vancouver 3x a year from NY for business and I have to say both service and cleanness are superb in this hotel. It has friendly and helpful staff 24/7 and here I am scratching my head listening to ppl complaining about smell and cleanness. I grew up with a mother who cleans every second of everyday and trust me when I say it's... more
After reading reviews about this hotel on many sites, I wasen't sure what to expect. BUT it is a very nice hotel. The rooms were clean, the staff very friendly and helpful. The dining room is small, but what can you expect when they took a few rooms that they use to make money on, and turn them into a nice small breakfast room, and don't charge you for the food. Only complaint I have is some... more
As others have noted this is a motel, not hotel. Despite that, my wife and I enjoyed a comfortable two night stay here recently. Our second floor room was clean and functional with a fridge and microwave. The bathroom looked to be recently remodeled. Water pressure for the shower could have been better but it got the job done. A flat screen TV was installed in the room but we did not use it as... more
I'm not a hotel snob by any means, but I have stayed in far less appealing places than North Vancouver Hotel.
As one reviewer mentioned, technically this is a motel, but I digress. We had a great one-night stay here on a recent visit to Vancouver and would definitely stay here again. The price was inexpensive, parking was free, the staff were super friendly and helpful, and the room was very...

This isn't a hotel; it's a motel because the doors open to the outside. While it was quiet, I didn't mind, and frankly we didn't spend enough time in the hotel room to really care. But, this is noteworthy because the name may be misleading.
The room was nothing spectacular, though clean, equipped with free wifi, and the bathtub drained properly (a pet peeve experienced at more upscale hotels)....

The rating seemed really good on Google, so we gave it a shot. First impression upon opening the door to the room was that it had a strange smell in. Livable, but a little weird.
There is not a bedspread to protect the sheets, just a short two foot wide spread that bisected the bottom of the bed. We folded it up and put it in the drawer.
The room is a little dark and has a TV, mini fridge and...

YUCK!
DO NOT STAY HERE!
We ended up staying here because every hotel was booked this weekend for the Canucks game. Note to self, don't look for a hotel when there is a game the weekend you're going somewhere.
I wish we slept in the car instead! This place was NASTY! Dirty, smelly and yucky!
The service is poor, the woman who checked us in was so uncaring and sounded like a robot.

Horrible experience! The sprinkler in our room went off and they didn't know how to turn it off. All of our things got soaked including my laptop and ipod. My son was wet and cold and didn't have any dry clothes to wear. My laptop is completely dead and the manager made a big deal of washing our clothes which were full of dirt because the water in the pipes were not clean. He refused to... more
I read reviews that this place was convenient to everything. This is not true - it took two buses to get anywhere downtown or touristy locations. In one day I would spend so much on transportation that it completely made the cheap hotel not worth it. Breakfast is mediocre and desk staff was not helpful in any way.
Definitely not a fancy place but we had a comfortable stay at the North Vancouver Hotel. There is some need for updates/repairs but overall it was clean, the wifi worked fine, there was a microwave and fridge in the room, and the continental breakfast was decent. Staff was nice and the place is pet friendly, which was a big plus.
I'd stay here again!
It's a great hotel at rock bottom prices in a fantastic spot. I paid $70/night for a non smoking King Bed. Found the deals on Kayak.
Customer service at this place was awesome time and time again. Room was big, with a nice big desk and fridge and plenty of drawers and all that jazz. TV was decent. Only bad thing I can say is the towels are very coarse, seems to be the trend at cheap hotels....

I'm really struggling with the star rating, because I certainly have experienced better- but at the same time this was what it was.
The primary reason I chose this hotel- parking lot, in an area where I felt like my car wouldn't necessarily be stolen. And in that area it delivered.
It's also close to the Capilano bridge, which makes this a tourist pit.
The room itself was nice. 2 queen beds...

I can recommend it to others though the cleaning was not quite perfect. There was rather crowded when eating breakfast - but it was god value for money!
Hey! Erin! You're cheaper than I am! It's $150, and you're in Canada...come on, did you REALLY think you were going to get a 'hotel'?
I suppose you believe Burger King, too, when they tell you they're serving a gourmet angus burger?
Nice 'hotel' this is not. There is no valet service, no chandeliers, and they don't put a mint on your pillow.
It was a room and it was cheaper than 90% of the...

I'm sorry, did I hear "hotel"? Um... more like overpriced MOTEL. When your door opens to the cold North Vancouver weather instead of a nice lobby, it's a motel... Just sayin'.
So- North Vancouver Motel in a nutshell:
-overpriced, $150/night
-smoky in a "non-smoking" room, but hey, $30 off if you complain
-lack of lights
-difficult to find an outlet
-cheap, crummy "breakfast"
-won't return

Yes For the money this hotel was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The entire building was clean, as was our room. We would stay here again. The location was close to Stanley Park, the suspension bridge, and Grouse Mountain. There was a Greek restaurant just down Marine Dr. that I can't remember the name of (it started with a "K") that we recommend as well. This hotel... more
