building needs maintenance- very obvious smell in lobby- pervasive, musty perhaps. room was clean but strangely put together- painted piece of 2x4 held the towel rack on, lino under sink had what looked like a burn mark, no clock radio, hairs still on the sink and in bathtub no elevator, front desk couldn't find my reservation although they were friendly.... more

This is a tower style hotel without an elevator. I would recommend to people wit wings and no luggage.

Good position with water view. (Not a huge choice in Port Hardy)

From other posted comments, the new owners are trying. The reception area needs to be made more welcoming and the stairway less foreboding. Some room freshening (carpet and drapes) would also add appeal and justify the nighty rate.

L'odeur d'humidité. Cet hôtel est vraiment très vieux. Ce pourrait être un bel hôtel si c'était rénové, je dirais même qu 'il devrait être détruit et reconstruit. Je ne le conseille à personne.

The very friendly front desk staff made this hotel a good stay. Also,
the beds were very comfortable. I really enjoyed the in-house Japanese
restaurant, with lots of unique home-made sauces and dishes.

Bald headed eagles udenfor balkonen. Vand view med sæler og kongeørne der dykker efter fisk. Hotellet er noget slidt, men med den udsigt er jeg komplet ligeglad. Kæmpe stort værelse!

Stayed here overnight after late arrival on Ferry from Prince Rupert whilst scheduled to catch Greyhound bus next morning to south of Vanvouver Island. Staff really welcoming and helpful. Room perfect for purpose albeit pretty basic. Didn't test the restaurant. Free wi-fi was satisfactory for checking emails.

The staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We were very happy to be able to stay close to the ferry as we did not want to travel another 2 hours before sleep. The window looked out onto the ocean and the quiet night allowed for a restful sleep.

Fridge did not work. No microwave as promissed. Bit worn out.

The room was big - 3 beds, which they transferred us into when they
didn't have a cot for us. Hotel is showing it's age.

Stained mattress, carpet and peeling paint.

The rooms were in great need of updating, draperies were falling apart, carpet was filthy. All the rooms were on the second and third floor of the hotel but there was no elevator.
