Our stay here was great. Room 34, seems recently updated. Was very clean and quiet. We have stayed here for the past 5 years on our way back and forth from Prince Rupert and standard of cleanliness is consistent. Restaurant on site is very convenient and food is pretty good. If you need a place to stay, this is it!
This inn near the geographic center British Columbia is charming comfort. The rooms are comfortable. The restaurant is deluxe log cabin with a European charm. Breakfast is excellent - quality, fresh, delicious.
If you get to this neck of the woods, stay at the North Country Inn.
This place is a pleasant surprise. Clean, well ordered, quiet, modern rooms in good condition. In this it's not what you expect in resource extraction country where the most frequent guests are guys working hard at often pretty dirty jobs. Check out the welded aluminum staircase up to a 2nd floor, the deck covered in exposed aggregate epoxy. It's a... more
Every time I go to Vanderhoof I stay at this motel. It is the cleanest one in town and it is off the highway. In the Summer, the rooms are hot even with their small air conditioning units. In the other seasons, it is a nice, clean quiet and warm motel. In the Winter, ask that they turn up the... more
We stayed for one night in this motel. The room was large containing two double beds, fridge, stove and microwave oven. The beds were extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. We were not bothered by noise of any kind ,possibly because we were in a room at the rear of the premises.
Wifi was fast and free.
Convenience is a factor when...

We drove from Prince Rupert to Jasper so we needed to stop somewhere for one night. We were told to avoid Prince George so ended up in Vanderhoof.
We had one of the "deluxe" rooms. It was OK for one night but it was hot. We couldn't open the door or the window as we were on the ground floor...

I travel as a technician for a living. That means many hotels. The North Country Inn is probably the nicest motel within 75 kilometers. I stay here maybe 4 nights per year. The rooms are always spotlessly maintained. This motel is well built. Very solid. The restaurant in the parking area is fabulous. I recommend this motel to the traveler's... more
The North Country Inn is basic and up-to-date, though we may have made a mistake in room choice. There are two buildings: one the "original" and the other almost brand new. We chose the newer one. The rooms are quite pleasant (though no air conditioning and it was 80 plus degrees!). Only problem is that the newer rooms front right... more
Clean quiet rooms away from highway traffic. Book this early in the day to be sure you get a room as it seems to be the first in town to fill up. Modern rooms with fridge and microwave - not a ton of room but very clean and comfortable.
I stayed here for one night in a party with two rooms, three adults and two dogs. The staff were friendly and the room was basically clean. The bedding looked dated but the beds were mostly comfortable. The biggest problem, was it was pretty hot and there's no air con, just a fan in your room. Staff were friendly, except... more
Our check in was not a good start - we had to go to the restaurant to check in. Luckily, my husband carefully checked the bill (you have to pay in advance) as they charged for an extra night. When we got to the room, the cupboard for the kitchen supplies was locked even though we had booked for a... more
We stayed at the North Country Inn on the way through Vanderhoof from Terrrace. The motel caters to a lot of working folks so there's LOTS of trucks in the parking lot!
The motel is modern, the rooms are very clean, the beds are comfy, there's a mini fridge and microwave in the rooms; pretty much everything you would need...

This was a very nice hotel -- clean , comfortable and quiet. I was very surprised that the room did NOT have an air conditioner. There was a fan on the dresser and the windows were open. I would think Northern British Columbia normally would not need air conditioners in the summer but it was 90-95 degrees. So time to... more
This was my second visit to the North Country Inn. An excellent location when travelling east from B.C. Very friendly staff. Reasonable restaurant on site. Located in the centre of this small community it is close to shopping and a number of eating establishments. WiFi access. Beds were very comfortable.
This hotel includes microwaves and fridges in most rooms. You can also get kitchenettes. I would recommend upgrading and staying in a renovated room for 10 bucks more per night. There is a restaurant on site with a great salad buffet. Good value for the dollar.
My daughter, my grandmother, and I stayed here on a recent trip to Vanderhoof for my sister's baby shower (we didnt' stay with her because they were in the process of moving).
We stayed for two nights, and although I wasn't OVERLY impressed, I wasn't disappointed either. I think next time I would definately ask for a newer room, however,...

We traveled through Vanderhoof in early September and were pleased with our stay at the North Country Inn. We stayed in one of their newer rooms, which they classify as "deluxe." It was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and there was a flat-screen TV. The free WiFi was easy to access and there was a nice desk to accommodate... more
