Each time I visit Victoria, I stop at Noodle box on Douglas. My girls and I consider it part of our shopping day! I order the the Coconut Green Curry with shrimp. It is always fresh, filling and one of my best memories of Victoria. Great place to have lunch or a quick healthy meal. Always quick, always hot!
This place has ruined me for Pad Thai and that is too bad because it is sooooo far from home. I read about it before hand and had it in my travel pad as a place I wanted to stop while in Victoria. It was beyond great! I ended up wandering Victoria by myself as my friends did a whale... more
Great Vietnamese cuisine, also laid back atmosphere with large portions, great selection and just a great place to grab a bite to eat.
The Noodle Box was recommended to us by one of the clerks at thehotel we were staying at in Victoria. He warned us about the different levels of spiciness in the establishment.
It was a relatively small menu with foods like teriyaki, rice, and various noodles. I noted that there were 8 levels of spiciness and ordered the Malaysian Rice...

Visited a couple times and was satisfied, tonight my wife and I ordered 2 curries for takeout. When asked about the level of spiciness we requested medium as usual, well medium tonight was more like "you're a crazy person if you order this" or the hottest on the noodle box scale. On top of that the consistency was completely off... more
So many options ensures that you get exactly what you want, including the right spiciness as they have about 10 different spice levels to choose from. My only complaint is that they charge you if you don't want something on your meal that was supposed to be on it, like roasted peanuts on top etc.
My husband and I shared an order of the Teriyaki Bowl with chicken as our protein. Very good! We sat at the bar where we could watch the guys making the food and it was fun to see them in action.
I used to love noodle box. Now, ten year later with the exact same menu, I'm bored and so are the chefs. TIME FOR A NEW MENU. Seriously. Great friendly staff but the food... more
I ordered the spicy peanut stirfry, and found it very tasty! Not as much sprouts as I would have liked, but overall it was very good. I will come again!
Cheers!!!
We saw this restaurant and thought it looked like a fun place for one of our last evening meals in Victoria. The food was good and the portions generous--we split a big noodle bowl and felt quite full. As other reviewers have said--the menu is fairly basic, nothing fancy, but it was a quality casual meal for a decent price.... more
I used to live in Victoria and Noodlebox was always my go-to place. I have noticed, however, that the dishes are becoming more salty. Nonetheless, excellent food and love the atmosphere.
Must eat, large portions, reasonable prices, friendly staff. Not a large menu to overwhelm you with choice.
This has become one of our favorite places to eat. There are enough choices that a variety of tastes can be accommodated; we have a vegetarian, a marathon runner, a picky-eater-who-doesn't-like new-foods-or-strong-flavors and a world traveler who likes exciting food. We always eat here on marathon weekend, when Victoria fills up with carb-loading (and then carb-replenishing) athletes. Even when... more
I had the spicy peanut noodles with chicken, can definitely recommend! They have lots of extra spices and sauces for you to use, and they do takeaway too!
Fresh and hot, maybe a little bland but better than fast food for price and quality. It's about what you would expect.
Very good food, though a bit pricey. I'm thinking I wasn't prepared for Victoria prices, but this was still excellent, fresh food.
Three strikes and the Noodle Box is out. Sorry but $12 for a box of noodles and one piece of over cooked chicken and a pop is too much. Don't worry about which dish you order as the all pretty much taste the same. I've visited three times in the last year hoping each previous visit was not the norm.... more
a good place for a quick lunch; all foods made to order; menu is well laid out and varied, food is nicely spiced and it is easy to understand what the spice level is.
We read about The Noodle Box as a "cheap eats" place in Victoria, and were hungry for noodles, so it seemed perfect. The place is very clean, trendy, hipster-joint, with lots of returning locals. The staff knew lots of the customers by name, and the continuous smiles made me feel like I was eating a "locals" place, though we were... more
I was hoping for more. Food was overpriced and very bland. Not at all what I expected. Very little chicken in either of the two dishes and the spring rolls were so bad I did not eat more than the first bite.
We had lunch at the Noodle Box. They have lots of options for Asian style meals. They have very large portions and the food is quite good. Beware of the spice levels. I got medium and found it to be much more spicy than I expected. A good spot for noodles for lunch or dinner.
I always enjoy the noodles, but at a 20 minutes wait for your order and prices higher than a restaurant meal, from $12-16 for one dish, it doesn't make sense to me as it's neither fast nor cheap. You might as well enjoy the atmosphere of a real restaurant! However, if you do have time to spare it can be... more
It's such a shame that Noodle Box has lost is greatness.
It used to be a bi-weekly regular for us but since they went corporate everything has changed. It's nowhere near as good as it used to be.
The ingredients don't taste as fresh and the quality isn't there anymore. The chicken used to be delicious but now it tastes...

Every time I come to Victoria, I always go to Noodle Box. It's my fave place. I always get the Teriyaki box with double meat and tofu (and I don't usually like tofu but they make it taste delicious!).
I may not know my Asian food as great as others (who have given bad reviews on here) but to me...

I was a huge fan of Noodle Box until this year when they became a franchise. Now the chicken is pre-cooked. The vegetables are no longer Asian-style but pre-cut carrots mostly. The sauces are watered down versions of the originals. Very poor quality overall. So disappointed in the new Noodle Box.
I stopped here for a quick light meal and got a huge delicious bowl of Vietnamese noodles with peanut sauce,. The most important thing for me was that the food was gluten free. There are a variety of choices and the heat and spice levels can be adjusted to your taste, The service was fast and the price very reasonable.
This quaint small restaurant..

We had a relaxing lunch with good food.....

OK, I very much dislike giving a bad review - this might be my first! This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, Asian food. First... more
good kids selection, small menu but lots of flavours, all asian-inspired. fresh veggies, cooked to perfection on top of fresh asian style noodles and lots of sauces to choose from. quick service and high rotation means there is always a stool or booth free.
The Noodle Box (various locations) in Victoria BC is awesome. You get a huge bowl of food for a very reasonable price. We liked it so much, we went back the next day. Someone in our group liked it so much, they are talking about setting up a franchise in the USA.
We visited the new location in Uptown and it was delicious! Always expect about a 20 minute wait, but it is so worth it. We always make it a point to go to Noodle Box when we visit Victoria! The food always tastes fresh and delicious, have never had a bad experience. Definitely recommend it! Staff was super friendly, it... more

Stopped in for lunch on the recommendation of a sales person at a nearby store. Minimal menu, one child special, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available. All Noodle Box locations offer delicious, freshly-prepared food. if you like your food with a bit of zing, order 'medium' spices.
This is not 'fast food' so expect 10-15 minutes for food preparation. I used to work right beside the Douglas Street location (800 block) and always received great service and excellent food, no matter what I ordered.
Wow! Lots of choices and several levels of spicy. Lots of noodle choices. Take out is the best way. Very basic as a restaurant.
A great place for take out, or a quick lunch. EXCELLENT food. I had the Lettuce wrap (long time no lettuce wrap!) and some Naan - and both were really fresh and tasty. I visited the big Mall location, and it was hopping busy late on a Thursday evening.
Freshly prepared and always tasty with large portions. Reasonably priced ($8-12) Love the green chili noodles! Small area to eat inside, or on the patio. Great for takeout. Fisgard location is an easy walk to Chinatown.
Our son wanted noodles, so our tour guide asked if we had gone to The Noodle Box. Tried to go on a weekday at lunch, but I think there are a lot of locals who eat there on their break. Saturday around 1pm was better and we snagged a table. HUGE bowl of noodles. Everyone loved their meal. Good thing... more
With only a few hours in Victoria on our Alaskan cruise, we needed a good place for lunch. Saw the Noodle Box and decided to try it. Glad we did. Very good service at the counter. Unfortunately, it has changed. Not all bad just because my favourite dish Tom Yum Soup with Noodle now has much less noodle so it is more like a soup :-(, but there are more dishes to choose from and more side dishes and beverages. I will still go there though.
My husband and I were exploring Victoria and were looking for dinner options. We randomly went into The Noodle Box and were so glad we did! The value for what you get is AMAZING, and the food is prepared fresh when you order. I had the Szechuan chicken, which had just the right amount of spice, and my husband tried... more
I have been to noodle box many times over the years. I have found that recently the amount of vegetables in the boxes is too low. They started as a mobile cart, opened a place in Chinatown, which was brilliant - another one by the Empress Hotel on Douglas - Gucci'ed up a bit - favourite for metrosexual business people - opened a third in Sidney, definitely average. A case of over-reaching ambition impacting the ambience and the quality.
Seems to be a place that the locals enjoy. It was OK. Nothing to write home about, but adequate take out for a stroll thru The harbour and the Beacon Hill park area.
Spent the weekend in Victoria in early May for a social media conference. Though this is my old university stomping ground, i'm amazed how much has changed in the seven years since I called it home. But I was happy to see Noodle Box alive and well. With a quick turn around dinner needed, we ended up at this spot twice over the course of the conference.
And one four star experience, followed by...

Good for a quick meal. We sampled several of the dishes and really liked that you can specify how spicy you'd like the preparation.
My wife was sick as a dog after eating at the location on Douglas Street near the Empress. Mine was okay, not enough meat for the price I paid; but at least I didn't spent the evening with my face in a toilet bowl. We visited China last October 2012 and didn't have a single problem with the local food in Shanghai, Beijing, and Xi'an. Someone needs to shut this place down.
Went here since it was down the street from my hotel. I was greeted by friendly employees which was very nice.
I wish the food was as nice as the people working there though.
I started off with the thai wings, gross. The wings are totally small and not crispy at all, and actually had a wierd taste to it. Sauce is think and sweet, and not spicy as advertised.

Don't bother if you have any allergies or simply don't want meat in your food. Way too many times have I gotten home and discovered a piece chicken in what was suppose to be a vegan option. It's just carelessness. Also I was once given the entirely wrong box.
Really good food, fresh and friendly. The drinks were a little week, but wonderfully flavorful. Portions are not huge, but well worth the cost. The owner is personally involved, usually helping to wait on tables, and taking the time to really connect to customers. I heartily recommend a visit to any Thai food fan!
Let's say you're an American, like me, and you're in Victoria for a day of sight-seeing. You need to eat fairly quickly -- something good, something to get your energy level up -- nothing that will take longer than a half hour of your time. This is the place for you! It seems like ALL the Noddle Box are so different from each other... The West 4th has a nice comfortable vibe as it seems like it can accommodate like a large party. I really did not like the colours of the wall. There was various colours...

When we walked into The Noodle Box we had no idea that we were in for an incredible dining experience. We were 2 hours away from heading back to Seattle on the Clipper and needed to grab some lunch.

A friend of mine highly recommended The Noodle Box when she visited Victoria a few years back so I put it on my list of restaurants to visit during my stay. We just happened to be passing by this place when we were in Victoria. We ended up liking it a lot and even went there twice. probably would go again if we went back.
There once was a day where going to Noodle Box meant trekking across downtown Victoria, past boarded up store fronts and empty parks to Fisgard where you had to hope you beat the crowd to have your face burnt off because you accidentally chose Medium Plus over the Mild Medium on the Peanut Curry, but it was oh so totally worth it.
Now it's more like elbow your way past the government employees...

Why do I do this to myself? Last time I was in Victoria we went to the other noodle box, which was a bland and meh. I was hungry and wanted chow, and thought maybe it was a location thing. I ordered thai style chow mein and vegetable dumplings.

My goodness. As a vegetarian from the real-life farmville here in Yakima, WA, I am panting for some real-life, not once-was-alive, vegan food. I'm blown away tonight. I tried all three specials tonight (chicken satay skewers, Thai red curry, and pumpkin spring rolls). They were all so good.

What I love about the Noodle Box is the variety:
Pick your dish, now choose your protein (chicken, pork, beef, prawns... all perhaps? I go w/ tofu because it just fits with their dishes), then switch between noodles or rice, and finally add-on some extras or up-grade the existing ones. So wonderful and simple!
What I don't enjoy about the Noodle Box are the line-ups, moderate customer service,...

Stopped in here today for lunch. I'm visiting with my husband, who is a native and wanted to go here. By "stopped in" I mean we were looking for a quick lunch solution and only had enough coin for 27 minutes on the meter. Quick in, quick out. I can't help it. Whenever I'm in town, I'm drawn to Noodle Box like a moth to a paper lantern. There is this incredible flavor and spice that I haven't been able to replicate at home. Ever. To hear others talk about it, you would think that The Noodle Box was God's gift to Victoria. Um, no, I think not. The disorder and pace of the place made me jittery and the noodles were beyond revolting. Flaccid, badly seasoned, and watery.
