Always a treat to experience Nina's, she never disappoints. Absolutely love going and look forward to it all winter for the garden to open again for the season.
I've lived in Kimberley my whole life and just discovered Ninas the other day. Amazing food, amazing service, everything was excellent. And the garden was beautiful, I highly recommend it.
What a sweet place. Good food, but only if you like what's on the menu that day. The eponymous Nina is amazing.
Nina's offers a set lunch of soup & sandwich in a garden oasis surrounded by a miniature Bavarian village. It has to be seen to be believed! Nina came around several times to ensure everything was satisfactory.
On a hot summers day this is the perfect place to keep visitors and children of all ages amused and fed. Lots of shady spots to sit and have an outdoor lunch or just a cup of tea and a huge slice of homemade cake. Seriously consider sharing slice! The best surprise are the hilltop miniature log houses all hand... more
Amazing location, enjoy the sunshine whilst sat at a table set amongst flower beds and fruit trees with a view over Kimberley. You can walk up from downtown past the miniature houses that Roland built. Nina will greet you at the top and make you feel welcome. The lunch is a set bunwich and soup served with usual hot drinks... more
make sure you are directed to Nina's for lunch ( only open for lunch in the summer). You walk up through the gardens with miniature European houses till you come to the eating area. Decked areas with blooming flowers and fruit trees await you. Nina and Roland a married couple will be delighted to see you. A fixed menu of... more
Nina's is one of my favorite places to go in Kimberley. I enjoy taking my family there to look at the little wood houses. The cakes and food are to die for. I once took my German international student there and we bought one of her cakes. He said it tasted like the cakes they make in Germany and even... more
If you like to eat surrounded by flowers and fruit trees in small leafy bowers this is the place. There is a fixed menu of soup of the day, an open faced Swiss bread bun with Brie and meat and delicious lemonade or iced tea. So no decision making of what you want to eat. You have lots of time... more
This is one place you cannot miss , hands down the best place for lunch in the whole kooyenays !!! Best food , best sevice , beautiful garden and amazing wood work !!! You must go !!!
Nina provides a home made soup and sandwich lunch in a cozy garden setting. Nina is a terrific host and we've enjoyed many lunches there - it's like sitting down to lunch at home (literally, since there are no real menu choices!). It remains the place we like to take guests to in the summer and everyone we've ever treated,... more
Very unique eclectic restaurant in Kimberly. On a sunny day there is no place better in Kimberly for lunch. They have a limited menu, basically a special every day with your choice of drinks and you must save room for Nina's cake for desert.
This hillside garden is really quite amazing and must be seen.
Friendly staff and really pleasant atmosphere. Small cosy tables surrounded with plants. Food tastes home cooked. Very good. You can take your time eating and visiting. Would definitely return.
Initially, we stopped by to view the gardens. Paid our $2 and got a season pass. However, the setting was so inviting we ended up staying for tea and cake. I had the mocha cake, and my sister had the chocolate raspberry cake. Generous slices, and a light, delicious cake. Cakes are home-baked. What impressed us most was the fact... more
Loved being able to sit outside with a view of the town. Great soups. Very friendly hosts. You can climb the stairs through the garden admiring the miniature Bavarian village or you can park at the top and walk in. I would suggest the stairs if you are able.
As a local this is the place I bring my visitors when they come to Kimberley, amazing food, Roland is a very talented chef, incredible deserts and beautiful gardens, a must see for anyone coming to town!
Nina's isn't just a place to eat; it's an experience. Plan to spend some time looking around and some time to relax and enjoy the garden. Each day they serve soup and a sandwich. You get what they have made; no ordering off a menu. I have been there half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. After your... more
Hidden hillside gem! Amazing fresh soup and salad!! I never knew it existed for years and one day stumbled upon it thanks to friends.
From the moment we entered the garden we were greeted by the most beautiful and gracious hostess. Nina herself! Wow, what a wonderful experience!
Beautiful location, beautiful food, beautiful people!
I wished we could have stayed all day!! Relaxing and revitalizing....sounds like a spa???

I decided to take a little longer lunch break at Nina's Hillside Garden and it felt like a mini-vacation. The garden is so pretty and peaceful, the food is delicious and I love that family-atmosphere.
Pull off the highway to or from Calgary into the old mining town of Kimberley BC. Ask any of the locals where to find Nina's. There you'll be delighted by the miniature Austrian chalets that are built into the side of a walkable hill leading up to the main & thankfully life sized home of owner operators Roland and NIna.... more
Wonderful cakes and soups, not to mention the gorgeous and intense garden!
I love the setting and the food is VERY good. You don't get a choice - what is being served that day is what you get - but it is always yummy. The pastries there are out of this world.
Service was excellent, waitress was very friendly, Food was mmm great. The owner greeted everyone at their tables It was really nice sitting outside to eat among all the flowers and ponds and waterfalls.
Hidden gem in Kimberley. They only serve lunch from an already chosen soup and sandwich (not menu). Also has minature village and garden. Hard to find but REAL treat!
Nina's Hillside Garden offers these services: excursions, tourism, restaurant.
