I've enjoyed the food here in the past, but something has gone terribly wrong. I have "dined" at the restaurant 3 times this summer, and plan on bringing a picnic from home next time. The service is friendly, and the food.............they should be embarrased serving it. That's probably why you usually have to pick it up your self from the... more
I love this place, nothing has changed except for the location and that is exactly how I want it. This is my defacto breakfast restaurant and has been for years.
Saturday night reggae music. That was a great evening. Thank you for booking Ras Ly and friends. It was wonderful to dance to reggae music outside on the patio. This is a hidden gem in Ottawa, Ont. Best to call for directions cause the internet site for 'westborobeach cafe' says 745 Sir John Macdonald Parkwy, but there may be better... more
We took our son for dinner - we ordered a large pizza which was plenty and an appetizer of zucchini stick. The zucchini was piping hot and the pizza was great - I normally order vegetarian but with my husband and son we ordered meat lovers - I still really enjoyed it. Plenty of cheese - good service, lots of... more
Great pizza. Prefer to take it to go as the restaurant itself is not my style. A bit expensive for pizza, but worth every penny!
Everyone in Ottawa has eaten at the Newport at least once in their lifetime. Now that the old location has closed, the former Donna's Express is now the "New Newport", a smaller version of it's former self but still chock full of Elvis memorabilia. I had just a plain old club for lunch. While it's hard to screw up a... more
We will never go back. We went on recommendation. When we got there it wasn't too busy. We went with two small children, it took us over an hour to get our cold hamburgers!! The people next to us came in half an hour later then we did and were served at least 15 minute before we were, and only... more
Relaxed and Casual. It doesn't look like much at first but the food is so good and the pizza....AMAZING! Always friendly service; you're treated like a regular even if you aren't.
We always come for the Fish and Chips. Awesome and fast and friendly service. This is our neighbourhood restaurant
Well actually, more like Elvis`kitchen. But none the less, it`s simple comfort food. Price is great and the neighbourhood never disappoints. So I do suggest it, but watch out for the pie...just try to say no.
My family has been dining at Newports Restaurant for years and we are always satisfied. The pizza is always amazing. I have not tried anything else on the menu, but a friend once ordered the Trout and she enjoyed it. The service is usually decent but it does get busy at times. I also love the Elvis decor. Every inch... more
An Ottawa institution no doubt. But it is not a nice environment and the food is pretty average. Now I do have to admit I have never had the pizza here even though I have come many times over the years and the pizza is supposed to be great. (Also note - I said i have come often so eventhough... more
We have breakfast at the Newport every month with a group from the office., This month two people ordered eggs benedict and were pleasantly surprised. The fresh fruit salad is pretty good and the coffee is acceptable and constantly refilled. Service is pretty good.
This place is an Ottawa landmark, although I heard on the radio recently that they are planning to move and downsize. I hope they can retain the unique Elvis atmosphere. They do a great breakfast.
Love the pizzas and the combos there. The ambience of Elvis posters and pictures adds to its special decor.
Enjoyed the pizza so much I decided to give them a try for brunch as well. Great value for your money. Will definitely return.
Old style family restaurant with great pizzas. Character with long-time wiat staff. Like a step back in time to 1960's.
I know there are hundreds of die hard pizza fans from New York and Chicago who think their pizza is the best on the planet and many of you have your very own local favorites in the pizza department, but Moe's Newport Restaurant in Ottawa, Ontario, of all places, has the best pizza in the world. I've made several trips... more
Edit: Moe has moved. New address is 322 Churchill Ave N Ottawa, ON K1Z 5B9

BEST Fat Pizza in town. Not for the faint of heart. Moe knows!
I love the atmosphere, the kitsch, the staff and especially the owner. Everything I have ever eaten here has lived up to my expectations. Breakfast is awesome and varied.
The very fact they revel in what they are and not try to be anything...

I had the meat loaf.. its the sort of place where you know they do it.. Lots of athmosphere and seems like the waitresses have been here a long time and enjoy it. I live too far away to come often but its comfort food with a nice relaxing vibe and the theme is unique. Well worh a visit
Unlimited appeal to the Elvis Crowd, why say more? Oh and they have an excellent breakfast if you are looking for something home cooked and they serve a great pizza. One of the few original Westboro restaurants to survive the arrival of the chik crowd.
This is our regular weekend dinner place. It is a typical neighbourhood diner, but with excellent pizzas cooked in a stone oven. There are lots of variety: deep pan pizza or gourmet thin crust pizza.
Besides pizza, they also offer comfort food such as pasta, onions and liver steak, meat loaf, burgers, sandwiches, etc. their desserts are decadent. The portions...

Newport has been around forever serving great comfort fare. Pizzas are legendary and everything is delicious, too. Good Lebanese food. Home of the Elvis Sighting Society and right in the heart of Westboro Village. Great family place.
This restaurant is super tacky or super retro depending on how you want to look at it. It's filled with EVERYTHING Elvis, I mean EVERYTHING!!! Some people love it and others hate it. I'm not going to lie, it definitely makes me smile when I walk in here.
When I first moved to Ottawa a lot of my friends raved about the pizza here. When they finally dragged me to try it I had tried Gabriel's...

back again for the eggs benny, my friend had a vegetarian omelete and loved it..reasonable prices, service was good..what else do you want from a place?
SOOO, It's a gorgeous Friday evening, so I thought I would celebrate by picking up a combination pizza from Newport. I have always enjoyed their pizza's. The crust is thick, and has a nice crunch, and the toppings are generous, especially the cheese. Unfortunately, the cook added a little something extra on my combination pizza tonight, green peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni and a long curly hair... more
This is such a cozy place to have a lunch or family dinner.
This is real old fashioned restaurant with lot's of personal touch and variety of food.
Famous as the centre of all things Elvis in Ottawa, don't let that throw you if you aren't into that kind of stuff. Food is very good, and extremely good value. Casual atmosphere is friendly and home to some of the best pizza in Ottawa.
cant get a better breakfast anywhere in town hagover heaven
My Granny used to work here when it was Port's Lunch, too - sometimes I would walk with her up to Golden Ave - that alone brings good memories - how could I not like it? And I like it also as Newport - it has the same easy comfy service. - Madrigal
I've been going to the Newport for years, mostly for breakfast, but also the occasional lunch.
What is so great about the Newport is that it is unpretentious, the service is great, the food is very good and the value is excellent.
I happened to drop by last week to meet two business colleagues for lunch, to make life easy...

Fairly casual dining. the prices are reasonable and the homage to Elvis is interesting.
Go early for Saturday breakfast! Good sized portions, great service!!!
Service is a tricky thing and evaluating it is subjective. Some people like the Newport because of the folksy attitude of the waitresses and the simple food. To my mind, the waitresses act like they're always in a rush and they border on rude. Customers should be made to feel valued and I don't get that at the Newport. If... more
After all the publicity following the death of an Ottawa Sun columnist and the connection to the "Elvis Sighting Society" we decided to check out this restaurant.
Quaint (lots of Elvis memorabila on the walls), great reasonably priced food,(I had the Liver and Onions special) great friendly service, so - so wine and problem parking on the street especially at...

My breakfast here was only average and when there are at least two places that can do a better job just down the street why go? I have been here for lunch and dinner before and both of those where good but again nothing to write home about.
Great place for cheesy yummy pizza and beer. Don't bother with the rest of the menu. But you gonna love a good dive and funny salute to Elvis.
the food in this place rocks..anything with fruit great presentation..the eggs benny the best ..breakfast here is awesome.se4rvice friendly attentive .BUT he Elvis memorabilia belongs in the owners rec room not here...time for restaurant makeover to step in and get rid of the corny Elvis stuff.
Today I went for brunch at an overpriced place in the Glebe where they served a mediocre omelette that might have verged on enjoyable if it was not cold. However, the server was young, sweet and earnest and it was a busy morning so --- being Canadian --- I did not complain. However, after a few bites of chilly omelette, I realized that I would much rather be having breakfast at the Newport.

This had been a favourite local haunt for our family for many years. We loved the family environment and the friendly and experieced waitresses While new restaurants have popped up we would love to go back - plus Moe is a great local philanthropist and we would like to support his business. However, sadly, the last time the place was... more
How can you not like a place that immortalizes Elvis. A good dependable restaurant that serves up a fun experience. Really nice serving staff, and a front counter, old-deli style front counter. Always worth a visit.
Love their pizzas!!! Yummm... more
Slow service! and it was only toast and egss
My Granny worked here when it was Port's Lunch; now it's moved across the street. Good gathering place, good food.
Good food, excellent service
I used to like it but the last couple of times I've been the service has been really bad
Great service and atmosphere
Fantastic! The pizza at this restaurant is excellent!
I enjoy going to Moe's good pizza again better ingredients than the regular pizza places in Ottawa that have ruined the pizza industry with there bad peperoni cheap cheese and bad sauce. Shame on the fast food pizza places like Georgies, Lorenzo's , Papa Joes, Gabriels I can go on but they are all sub standard and have ruined pizza... more
Doesn't do takeout (Donna's, a block down, does, and they are owned by the same people). Plus, the service is a little "too rushed," but damn if it isn't the best pizza EVER!
It has been a while since I have been but it is a great resaurant and the Elvis theme is great.
Classic pizza, great greasy spoon breakfast. A local landmark.
A few blocks from home. Best pizza in town. LOVE THIS PLACE !! U have to have the oil on your pizza.
Newport Restaurant offers these services: restaurant, caterer.
Dubbed as World Famous, this Westboro Village culinary landmark is home to the Elvis Presley Sighting Society, a group of die-hard Elvis fans who believe the King is alive and well and living in semi-retirement in Tweed, a small town about ninety minutes west of Ottawa. Not surprisingly, the walls are covered with Elvis memorabilia. The menu contains such mainstay items as pizza and pasta... more
