The NY Fries at Dufferin Mall food court. No gloves on any of the people making your food.Cleanliness is a concern.
Good service and good fries. Not the crispy kind of fries if that's what you're looking for but quite a few different flavours/ingredients to choose from. Regular or larger size. Usually a line but not too bad and lots of seats around although sometimes can be pretty crowded.
What can be more canadian on a cold wintry day than eating poutine?
I was craving this and finally satisfied it with a classic poutine from NYF. Sure it's in a mall, busy and noisy. But just sitting there and enjoying my poutine shut out the whole world. For the price, it's good value and satisfies the urge. Yum!!
Plus, I don't have to look for paid parking at a more upscale establishment.

Tried poutine for the first time today. It wasn't bad, but it's also not one of those things that you crave. Everything was fresh and hot. If I went back, I would probably get the fries with the cheese, bacon, and green onions.
The food may taste good, but the fact that I noticed that a worker handled food right after touching money without washing her hands, I will not be back to this place!
The coins may have been rolled, but at the end of the day, you were handling something dirty and didn't even bother to wash your hands!
If you're wondering who I'm referring to, it's the lady with the "Monroe" piercing on her...

I really like NYF and I appreciate that they have a loyalty program (buy 10, get 1 free).
The service at Metrotown isn't the best and sometimes they don't add enough toppings when compared to other locations.
The poutine they offer tastes really good though!!
Not a big fan of their hot dogs
One of the food chains in Canada that i keep coming back,i love poutines all flavors, the classic one is the bomb for me im not sure if only Canada has poutines because some of my friends in USA asked me about it.
Most of the stores are inside malls since i am from vancouver i always visits the one by the oakridge mall and the one by metrotown center.
I never encountered bad service yet to both...

Over the years, New York Fries have definitely changed. I really enjoyed them when they were new, I remember there used to be huge lineups to get their signature fries. The fries these days are not as great but I do enjoy them once in a while.
At the Metrotown location I recently got the premium hot dog combo. The hot dog wasn't that good. You know how not yummy it is when the hot dog bun...

I have been eating NY fries since I was teenager.
I don't know what had happened but through the years it's not very good anymore.
They make it fresh and hot right infront of you, but when I walk a few feet to a table it's not anymore....
I pay for extra gravy and I expect extra gravy. With extra gravy it doesn't even touch the bottom.
I jut find it really grouse now, in fact the last time...

Found a hair in my fries twice at this location. Unless you want to watch every bite you take, choose a different location!
I used to always go here for quality fries because it was so much better than McDonald's and the array of condiments were simply great but I came here the other day and the fries were not as great as I remembered them. Still fries though and you can't go too wrong
Anytime I am at metro town Malmö stop by and get the French fries. Sometimes I will get he gravy. Delicious!
I ordered the Vegan Fries. It was yummy!
The concept was new. It was so filling! The price was average.
It wasn't fast, since many of the school children should have been in school, but they're all shopping today (in the rain) for back to school!
Their fries and poutines are always tops! I enjoy the poutine with the shredded beef and carrots on top. It's a meal by itself. Overall a good value and the workers at this location always make sure service is quick and the quality of the food is high.
Sometimes you do something stupid and against your better judgment. Eating at NYF is just one of these things.
The fries are too brown, overly fried. Fries should be light golden brown in color like McDonalds or Costco fries. They should not be crunchy or their edges crispy.
Because these fries are sooo overly fried, you must have something to smother or hide all the grease taste. I suggest...

I haven't been to NYF in a while, but I was craving a poutine. I had the worst customer service at this location - the cashier cut me off mid-sentence to talk her co-worker regarding personal issues - which was not professional at all. The cashier forgot to tell the individual putting my poutine together to layer it - the girl got annoyed and threw the fries back into the bin and sluggishly... more
Ahhh my go-to place for fuel at Metrotown.
I usually order a regular sized poutine and a bottled water, and it comes down to around $7-8 for both items together. There are two sizes: small and regular. I think the small is only a couple bucks cheaper than the regular size. On a good day, they will serve you an overly heaping cup/bowl of poutine; on any other day, they still serve a somewhat...

Got the veggie poutine. Nothing really stood out. Pretty expensive for such a small portion. Typical mall food. Good for eating while moving.
A ok for mall food! I like their fries, they're crispy and charred at the edges. Their gravy is ok, a little on the watery side. With the slew of gourmet poutine shops opening up, one doesn't really have a reason to come here anymore haha! However it'll suffice if you have a major poutine craving when you're shopping at the mall haha.
The fries taste like stale bread, and the cheese curds were cold. Definitely not coming back.
I dont really know any good place in Burnaby and just randomly walk-in to any place. Luckily. I notice New York Fries and just walk inside and ordered. I ordered their Bobby visite L'Espagne and really loves it.
Best poutine ever! I like my poutine heavy, messy and filling and this place gets the job done. Bonus points for having vegetarian gravy!
Got a combo with braised beef Poutine as a substitute rather than the regular Poutine. Price came to just under $11. A bit pricey for food court food. The hotdog was decent. It was better than an Ikea hotdog. The Poutine was small. The toppings was surprising good. Beef was tender and lots of sauce. Fries were crispy and fresh out of the fryer. Now the drink....cashier had filled the cup with... more
Do you remember when this used to be THE poutine place before all the gourmet shops opened in Downtown Vancouver? For junk food poutine this actually isn't bad, however, is the butter chicken really necessary? This is just a culinary insult. I come here when I have an entertainment coupon.
Came here and got the BBQ pulled pork poutine fries. It was really good!
I have never had cause to complain about the fries at New York Fries, they're reliable and always sizzling hot when served. It is what they do best.
Today my husband and I were shopping at Metrotown and we thought we'd have the hot dog/fries/drink combo for two, they call it New York duo or combo or platter or something like that. Anyway it's two hot dogs, two sodas and a jumbo fries. The...

Love their poutine! Always loved New York Fries, even before they incorporated the poutine in their menu. Pulled pork? Yum. Reminds me of good ol' Southern cooking. Braised beef? Oh my gosh.. Delicous!! Butter chicken? Who knew this would be so incredibly good??
So why the 2 star rating? The service is absolutely not up to par to a standard fast food kiosk in a food court. The employees did...

I've always been a huge fan of their fries since forever.
I also just tried their poutine before leaving Metrotown as I never had theirs before nor have I had poutines for a good long while, and I thought it theirs was delicious.
There's really only 2 things that kind of sucks about NYF:
1) They don't have enough locations. I can only get to 3 of their places quite easily and the rest, I'm...

Mexi fries is hella good. Great snack if you need a break from the massive mall.

I am a poutine fan, this is not a secret. And I'm also a moderate fan of NYFries. I find it wonderfully ironic that no such thing exists in New York. Just as I'm quite sure there are no Canadian Tires in Sweden...
I digress. Poutine here is as it has always been. A-OK. I am occasionally seduced by the new offerings of Butter Chicken poutine and the like but find the experience to be less...

My first poutine experience came in the form of ... the food court at the mall? Yep.
I had the pulled pork. It was mostly all sauce and barely any meat, which knocked it down a few stars, but it was SO good. The small size was more than enough for me.
They carry several different types of poutine and hot dogs. That's about it.
My wife has been craving the poutine, so we got em.
I got the chicken curry and it wasnt bad at all. The place was busy,
The price was a bit higher than I would have liked to pay. But it the taste was good.
They had a few other options, like hotdogs, but we did not get them.
The next one to try is braised beef poutine.
I'm a huge poutine fan, and just last nite, was impressed by the tennie bopper who served me.
Before when the theatres had NY Fries, she gave me the most ever fries, gravy, cheese curds (if it's real, that is, haha) -- without me asking her. Back in the day, you almost had to plead w/ the Silvery City ppl to give you more, and got a dirty look in return.
But what was cool that with the...

Tried the new Butter Chicken and Braised Beef poutines.
The fries were excellent as always. Could have used more cheese.
The flavour of the 2 sauces was ok but the picture shows pieces of meat and the meat in the sauce is all stringy. This makes the sauce seem REALLY thick and hard to get some on each fry.
Glad I tried it but wouldn't order it again unless they worked out the issues with the...
