Great modern Sushi

This is a relatively new restaurant and it was extremely tasty. The sushi was a mixture of traditional and contemporary dishes.
We had a very good cross reference of dishes, including Miso soup, that was delicious. Including, one dish of seared salmon in a sauce using kimchi as an ingredient.

Nice service, poor sushi

Delicious, unique, value
April 13, 2014Viewing the prices when ordering, I was impressed that the cost was reasonable, but I was not expecting much. I was so happy to be wrong! The rolls were huge, lots of fish, and many unique combinations of ingredients. Each dish was a piece of art. Service was top-notch.

Good place for sushi on the run

Nice little place with good, inexpensive options for a sushi lunch on the run. Many sushi types are available and those I tried tasted fresh and authentic. I also found the service quite attentionate.
Since this restaurant is rather small and not so cosy, I wouldn't necessarily bring my girlfriend there for a romantic occasion. But for a quick business...

Excellent sushi and service
November 27, 2013We walked here from a nearby hotel and had 4 very different rolls, miso and sake. The food was excellent and prepared quickly and artistically. The sake (we ordered an entire bottle) was served piping hot but was overpriced at $26 for the brand. Overall a great experience and we would happily return.

May 31, 2013The outward appearance of this restaurant is deceiving--it's non-descript and doesn't seem to draw you in. However, the food is so good. The owner was great at advising us on what to try. OK but not great
June 29, 2012This restaurant is across the street from the hotel at which I stayed. I had a combination sushi plate and wakame salad. The salad was watery and one of the maki offerings was just weird - some form of panko in the centre. OK but not great.

I love sushi and finding this little spot in Ottawa made my day, lunch and dinner a few times during my two week visit to the Capital. The sushi was always fresh and flavourful. If you are a sushi fan you must try New Generation Sushi, but get there early as seating is limited.
I recommend the dynamite roll.
