RATS....This happened to us LAST NIGHT:

From out of nowhere, a giant black RAT appeared, scurried across the bar, crawled over my girlfriend's hand and scratched it as she screamed and pulled her hand away.

This is a pretty neat spot. Kind of hidden away, which adds a feeling of exclusivity. The menu has some interesting comfort food and the taxidermy inside makes for a unique ambiance. They even have an old record player and vinyl for customers to choose some old music if desired. A great place to check out if you're wanting something different.

Very cool place. Like going into an industrial basement but once you're there it's great. Quite a unique experience.

Very cool hidden gem, love the look of this place and the way people talk about it. Could use a little more interaction from staff if sitting at the bar, but decent service. Pimms cup could be more boozy, tasted watered down. Will try this place again down the road.

A go-to place when meeting friends (a good place to bring out-of-towners). Feels like a special, dark, private hideaway. Go there and grab a beer!

So this is a bit of a strange spot. It's hugely popular (given the few times I've gone it's standing room only), but it has no signage and is tiny.
I guess the lack of signage adds to the felling like you belong to some small circle of people that know about this place to the exclusion of others.

I have been 4 times and each visit has exceeded the previous. Friendly bartenders, food that is much better than you'd expect (fish tacos are on POINT), warm comfortable spot for a date or a drink with friends. Their cocktails are, as you'd hope, well done, and not too expensive. (A little under market price in this ridiculous Vancouver scene). Always great tunes on, I guess the barman picks... more

It's not just a name. It is narrow. If you can get a table it's a nice atmosphere to hang out in. Average drink selection and prices.

This is a secret hideaway that you'll never find unless you know what to look for, and if you use Yelp. not too loud, great atmosphere, casual and eclectic, nice vibes overall. It's narrow, too. My fave time is the summer and sitting at the back patio which is done up with Mexican colors and tiles with twinkle lights. Try the fish tacos - yum!

Great for that "I'm so cool I go to unmarked secret underground places" vibe when you're trying to impress your out of town friends. The atmosphere may be dark and quirky, but the bartender was really friendly... Especially when I was half expecting some Hell's Angel to yell at me for a password. Pleasant surprise and great truffle oil popcorn.

Been a fan of this place in the past but when I come to enjoy the patio on the afternoon and it's closed? Hogwash. I'll be painting the place in shame. Next!

I was excited to check this place out because I heard great things. Funky atmosphere and good for drinks but the food was totally disgusting. Had the chicken tacos and the 'house made red pepper hummus. Hummus was store bought but the tacos were not edible. Cancelled the rest of our food because the begin was so horrible.

The Narrow is one of the funkiest bars in Vancouver where it is conveniently hidden in plain sight right on Main Street at 3rd Avenue East in supernaturally beautiful East Van, British Columbia. I really liked narrow as a super casual intimate bar to have drinks and chat. The lighting inside is dim. The music was kewl and eclectic, like some French music and some 80's stuff.

I went there around 8ish on a Tuesday and it was very chill, not busy, and sat on a comfy couch! Ordered the popcorn and tried a few drinks with my friend! I liked the negroni, and the Oban wasn't bad either.

I love Narrow. It's unique and eclectic. If u haven't been there before you don't even know it's there. Awesome music which always varies, solid drinks, and most the bartenders are chill. Food is tasty but the menu could use a few more options. It's very pub type food, not many healthy options. Great place to chill, drink and chat!

Hidden on 3rd off Main, you enter Narrow Lounge through a graffitti-ed backside door. Low and behold, you'll find a packed bar full of hipsters. Crowded in every direction, my advice would be to double up and double fist when you catch the bartenders attention.

One of the best dive bars in town. It's my go-to local where the music is good, the crowd friendly and the atmosphere soluble.

If you ever lived in England and got cozy with a local bar, this is good way to get that feeling in Van - as long as you're not allergic to hipster.

The drinks here are excellent. What I like most about this place is the atmosphere. It's a cross between your wallflower friend's basement and a spaced out lounge in Vegas. Highly recommended you check it out. Great place to take a date. Dating Score: 3 out of 5.

I can't speak for the food here, but my pimms cup was spot on.

Went the the narrow while visiting from Seattle with my boyfriend. Awesome atmosphere. Seemed to be what many bars in Seattle aim to be, but always end up flooded with people from Lynnwood. Excellent service- bartender stopped over to check on us just enough.

The inside is dark so its more a winter hangout in there but the tiki patio out back is amazing in the summer!!!! We live super close so its easy to just pop in there from time to time. Came here on Sunday for a friend's birthday, and fortunately, it wasn't raining, so as planned, we sat outside in the Tiki bar/patio. It's super tiny out there, which is really the only down side. How can you not like this place? Friendly service, bad a@s food, laid back atmosphere. Beer is cheap, and pretty extensive list considering the size of the place. Your expectation should be one type of mystery beer served out of a keg, so your mind should be blown! i was told this place was a hole in the wall. It is in the literal sense but its very nice on the inside. it was Thursday and moderately busy, the staff where on top of things and upbeat. this place is good to just chill and have a drink.

I dunno, man. I really wanted to like this place, but it hardly carries the thrill of being a secret, undiscovered spot anymore. Hipster central - everything about the spot felt like it was pandering to the Main St. demographic. Just went here on Friday and really quite liked it. The room was packed, so we just stood with our drinks until a table opened up. We shared a booth with some other people, which was a great way to be social.

I love the character of this bar.
Nice dark lighting, cheesy framed pictures and obligatory ironic deer head mounted to the wall. It's subterranean (located downstairs), and of course very narrow. Narrow is cool beans. Really awesome vibe with great drinks and yummy small-plates for nibbling (god, I love the word 'nibbling). Their popcorn with 'mexican' spice is a crowd pleasure. They're not kidding when they call this place Narrow. I almost didn't write a review b/c I don't want you to know how awesome this place is and go and take up my precious seat. Seriously though, it's funky, eclectic and the staff and clientele alike have a cool vibe and yes, I recognize I'm indirectly calling myself cool. Check it out if you can find it ;)

It's a NARROW lounge, people -- don't be surprised by the lack of room. It's narrow. Just like it said it would be: narrow.

We stopped by the Narrow Lounge for some drinks after watching the Canada Day fireworks at Crab Park. It's a cool little spot with great snacks on the menu. The chili-lime popcorn was like CRACK! It was the perfect drinking snack.

A funky little hideaway place, right around the corner from where I live. And I just find about it now...

Cozy atmosphere, friendly and casual service, and definitely a place to keep coming back to.

Music a bit too loud, and no main courses to eat for vegans like me. Still, a couple of appetizers were just fine (hummus, potato wedges, and cranberry tapenade were delicious).
