I had a burger and beer with my wife. We both found the food service and atmosphere excellent!!!! 5 stars!
Had the Halibut with a mango chutney. This is a good place to get together with friends for drinks and food before going to a club. The food is good but not too adventurous
Went to Moxie"s with my wife for Sunday Brunch this morning.Huge disappointment.Had Eggs Benny and sadly nothing on my plate was hotter than warm on the temperature scale, even the eggs which were mostly raw. We were there just after opening and there only three tables filled. Will not go back.
There are only 5 or 6 items on the brunch menu, too bad they couldn't get it right. I expected much...

This is an overall review.
Moxie's is our default restaurant when we don't know what we want, but we want something that everyone will enjoy. Food is always good, atmosphere is nice and the service is typically excellent - had some really great servers there.
The patio is fantastic when it's sunny - they have lots of traps to keep the wasps away which is a really good idea that rarely is...

Family fun when you want to drop coin. Food has never disappointed.. and the kids LOVE the lava ice cream desert.
Great service and child friendly. The bread that came with my order had mold on it. I do not think I will be going back again.
Excellent service and food. Had the Herb Chicken Alfredo Penne....excellent. Will definitely go back.
Second time we ate here, great experience as our first. Food was great, service was friendly and prompt. We tried the sushi cones as an app, I would order them every time. I ordered the lobster and prawn linguini. Very excellent.
I remembered going to Moxie's in Vancouver a few years ago and had a lovely time so we decided to give this one a try also, particularly after seeing the reviews here on TA and on yelp. We liked that they had kids menu, which seems very uncommon in Canada (quite standard in the US). It's the only place we've been to in Whistler, Vancouver and Victoria that caters to kids, too. We wanted some... more
Seriously the best place in Vic! Centrally located, fantastic service and top notch food. Great for fam & couples! Yum!
I find the food at Moxies is always good and consistent. This location has a fantastic outdoor patio - great for summer seating. The service is generally good and friendly.
this is a very popular restaurant in victioria british columbia the food was excellent and the price was very reasonable and the service was very good . lovely setting I was more than satisified too
I really enjoyed, once again, this moxies. Staff were all very friendly and the food came very quick. I enjoyed sitting out on the patio for lunchtime with my friends. Never fails to impress!
We were indecisive on where to go for dinner then I remembered I was given a GC for moxies... And what a great decision it was to go there! The food and drinks were delicious and the service was great!!! We sat out on the patio and really enjoyed ourselves! We will be back for sure :)
My kids were in the mood for burgers, so we were heading to Bin 4. It was a 45 minute wait and there was nowhere to wait that long with 4 hungry children. We decided to take a chance and head across the street to Moxie's.
We were quickly seated and I was very pleased to discover that they had a kids menu with burgers on it. Three of my children were pleased by this and the 4th was even more...

Good food, but typical for Moxie's. The price is fairly high and feels as if you should be about 20-something in order to dine here. I've been once , and once was enough. Moxie's, in other towns, are great... but as far as dining in Victoria goes, there are far better restaurants in the city to choose from (and they cost less!)
We've been going here for years, and over the past 18 months the food has gotten even better. Service has always been fantastic. This place is a local gem!
I visited Moxies at Yates for yet another lunch with a good friend yesterday and was very happy to see the same pleasant, relaxed and friendly atmosphere that I've commented on previously. The service was cheerful (and very helpful) and the food, if not gourmet level, was certainly more than acceptable (very good, in fact) and the portions quite generous.... more
First time at this restaurant, we found the atmosphere & setting very nice and it was a busy Sunday evening. The manager found a very nice table for two & the staff was very attentive. I had the rack of ribs with mash potatoes which was very tasty, however the brussel sprouts combined with this meal is far from the best... more
I had never been to Moxies until my good friend introduced me. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety on the menu and how delicious everything we ordered was.....even the wine list was interesting!
It is now my FAVOURITE place to go because they NEVER disappoint me and the excellent serving staff make it such a pleasurable experience.

As a treat my wife decided to take me for lunch here. From the outside the restaurant looks warmed and invited. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. But sad to say that is all that I can say that is really good. The menu was quite diverse and offers pastas, salads, soups, burgers and some good entrees for... more
Sat next to Aquarium, had a very nice meal. Both of us had Pasta. Perfectly done, very well presented. The staff are friendly and attentive. Beer and 5oz Wine specials every day. Good value. Overall nice to sit next to the fish and relax. Excellent lunch or dinner stop.
Moxie's used to be an alternative outlet to go for a reasonably good steak, but our latest visit proved disappointing. Two of the steaks looked and tasted like reconstituted meat, or a steak that had been sledge-hammered several times before being served (over-done). The carrots and brussel sprouts (described as "baby cabbage" by our waiter) that accompanied the steaks were... more
This moxie's was set up in an older building that has wonderful atmosphere, high ceilings, a fountain etc. You get the reliable food of moxies with an upscaled atmosphere.
My wife chose Moxies for her clinic staff Christmas dinner. The private room upstairs with balcony over looking the restaurant is a gem. Perfect for the group of 20. Service was excellent as was the dinner. We ordered al la carte off the menu and everyone raved about their meal. I had the peppercorn strip loin. It was done to... more
They have a really nice and unique place. I just loved it. We had stake, and it was just amazing. I didn't like the dessert menu, but it wasn't a big deal. By the way, their service was great. We will go back for sure. :)
Main course was good.a bit disappointed with dessert.a bit more expensive than the restaurants around it.service is very efficient and waitresses very friendly.overall recommended.
The Moxies in Victoria is by far one of my favorite restaurants! Not only are both the atmosphere and food amazing but the service I have received there is one of the main reasons I keep coming back. My grandmother and I have been regulars there for about 2 years now and usually get the same server. He is genuinely a great person and server. Even if he is not our server, he is sure to come by... more
Moxie's is a favorite place to eat in Victoria. My colleagues, friends and family are always happy with the fast and smile-filled service. The staff are so attentive, it's hard to find another restaurant where the service is this exceptional!! If you haven't tried the beef vindaloo, you absolutely must - its my favorite and a very satisfying meal! Great with a robust glass (or bottle:-) of red... more
Moxies is a beautiful restaurant - we love the fountain and lovely fish tank upon entering this lovely place, and these visual positives are second only to the smiling staff who are always ready to greet you as soon as you walk in the door. We have dined here for lunch and dinner on many occasions, and have never been... more
Great place to eat with lots of good food choices on the menu. We ate dinner here on a weeknight so was quieter. Excellent service from our server Clare !
The service was pretty good, but it didn't make up for the flavourless steak I had. I ordered the steak oscar and the béarnaise sauce was flavourless as well. The mashed potatoes seemed a bit dry too, could have used salt and butter. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy my 28 dollar meal. I do have to say the white chocolate brownie was delicious as always though. Probably won't be back unless I am... more
White table cloths and a classy decor made this the place for an elegant meal.
Meals were served on heated plates and a good they had a good selection of local craft beers.
Shown is the must have wild pacific salmon braised with dill and Dijon mustard.
Everyone in our group were more than pleased with their meal.
Well, third Moxie's on my trip didn't let me down. This location does not have the same styling as the ones in BC I visited, but it was very nice and suited the city. Massive door opens to let the awesome Victoria weather in to the building. Service was exceptional as I had come to expect at Moxie's on this... more
Service outstanding always! Food is always fresh, well presented and worth the money. They have a decent selection of wines although a bit pricey. Would recommend eating here.
We went to Moxie's for a special birthday dinner and were disappointed with our meals. My steak was tough, the asparagus stalks were thin, brown and wilted. The dessert I chose was a berry tart. The pastry was thick, and the topping appeared to be some jam topped with some whipped cream... not exactly delicious. They were gracious and reimbursed... more
Great lunch spot and after work drinks. This has been a regular staple for work colleagues, and the service and food never disappoint. We used to go here for occasional dinner with family and always enjoyed the food and service. Would recommend for groups, lunch with friends and family.
The restaurant knows how to cater to across the board clientele.
Staff here are awesome. Love being able to see the line from my seat and watch food prepped. Didn't blow me away, but certainly satisfied my cravings!
I've been going to Moxie's for years with my family. It's become the place we go to celebrate birthdays, graduations, staff Christmas parties, or just go out for a nice dinner. The staff is fast and friendly and the food is always good.
I've gone to Moxies many times over the years and have always been happy with the experience.
The services and food are always good. From the steak to the pizza, I always leave happy and very very full.
I go there regularly with my family to celebrate birthdays, graduations and just special nights out. The kids means (when mine were...

Service, food and atmosphere were great, albeit a little stuffy, perhaps soe fans moving the area would be nice.
I am not a moxies fan and made a point of not wanting to eat here, so happy we did anyways! What a great meal and impressive restaurant!! Beautiful entrance, take your jacket all classy like and the food was fast and delish!
Attempted to eat here with friends at 9:00 pm on a Saturday night. We walked in and asked the hostess for a table for 3, she said okay then told us they were closing at 10. When I asked her do we have to be out by 10? She replied, yes....so we left. I won't go back!!
Went there for lunch today with a friend. Go pretty often and always enjoy. The environment, the food and the service is always good. It is a busy place and can be a bit noisy. Go and enjoy.
My husband and I popped in for lunch at Moxie's the other day as we both remembered liking it in the past. We just wanted something simple and we decided on the Thai Beef Salad (him) and Citrus Chicken Salad (me). He asked for his meat medium rare - it arrived very rare but we weren’t going to complain. Minutes later, however, the server arrived with another plate of beef (this one cooked... more
We ate at Moxies for the first time Friday. We were very impressed, the service, the food and the atmosphere were all better than expected. As an added bonus, the noise level was conducive to talking! Best of all, you can order 1/2 size desserts!
My husband and I have been going to Moxies for years. We are never disappointed by the friendly staff and delicious food.
I have always liked the manager Lindsay Wilson as he always greets us with a warm smile and asks us how we're doing upon arrival. However, about a week ago, as I was sitting at my table, I...

We had the Dine Around Town special $25 each for a three course meal. Great deal!
This is a busy, busy place and even with a reservation the staff found an intimate corner for me and my mate. Nice touch.
The food - steak salad and a chicken enchilada - was very good and promptly served. Nice wait service too. I recommend it if you don't high volume of noise.
You really have to pick through the menu here. The room is tried and worn, to the point it feels a bit dirty. The food is average and that is if you pick the right choice, a lot of the menu items are unreliable in quality, if you are in a rush, need a drink and an appetizer it will... more
Nice place for dinner. Adequate meals. There were four of us, with two having the steak dinner. Both steaks were ordered rare and prepared quite nicely. But the steak was tough and not the least bit juicy. ( Not the best quality.) Other than that, the other two meals were good as were the drinks.
Went there for brunch the other day, the drinks are amazing and the eggs Benny I had was fantastic! Also appreciated the staff, they were very friendly
Just up the street from me (kitty corner from Bin 4) and a favourite place of mine for dinner or a drink at the bar. Bustling and sometimes a bit noisy but always friendly.
I really enjoy the food and find the service excellent. I always receive my coffee quickly. I have time to enjoy the coffee before receiving my meal. I am always asked if there is anything else I need or if everything is okay, and have time to enjoy my meal. I thank the staff and management for making my lunch out on the town so pleasant and satisfying.
We went after Christmas while they were very busy, and the service was very good. They made special effort to accomodate one in our group in a wheelchair and our table was out of the main traffic stream. The selection of food was good, nice beers on tap, and all our meals were very good (steak, steak salad, chicken caesar... more
The menu was complete, the food great and the service excellent! We had a very nice New Year's Eve at the Yates Street Moxie's and would heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and tasty evening out at a reasonable price.
This place has as much moxie as a bowl of half melted Island Farms vanilla ice cream. I know this cookie-cutter chain restaurant (think Keg, Cactus Club, Med Grill, etc...) has it's fans, but I am not one if them.
A good ol' standby in the casual "fine dining" franchise category . . . .
Stopped in after a day in Vancouver with my daughter, a quiet Monday night. Service attentive. She ordered the mushroom - Madeira sauce rigatoni and she rates it above average, the second time enjoyed (recently enjoyed in Edmonton Moxie's). I had the smoked applewood cheese, chicken and sun-dried tomato pizza, which too...

Moxies on Yates is not your average Moxies: it's wayyyy better!! Every time I've been, I've had efficient service, quality food, and the dining room has a beautiful atmosphere. I'm embarrassed it's taken me so long to write this review, but it's been a busy few months since we were here.
If you need to host an event in Victoria, BOOK HERE!! It's another restaurant that was bought by Moxie's, so the design inside is a little different, and the private room is upstairs overlooking the rest of the restaurant. Perfect for what I needed!

We once again had an excellent business lunch. Loaded burger is my favorite choice. The ever present pretty waitresses in black sexy dresses are also easy on the eye :). Besides that the food is always good, well presented and fresh. We highly recommend this restaurant for an upmarket and classy experience yet reasonable pricing.
I always find Moxies really accommodating for reservations. Staff are friendly, and the mosaic dip appie is delicious!
This restaurant has a decorative antiquity theme, fountain, columns. The food is slightyly more expensive then other comparable restaurants but plentiful and tasty. Pasta dishes, rice bowls steaks some sandwiches fish, large salads and ribs
As the title says, the atmosphere was great... however the food didn't match. My tandoori salmon salad was very over dressed and salmon portion was tiny. (did not fit the size of the salad). The server realized I was not pleased with my meal and offered me a free dessert however never removed the salad from my bill.

Recently had dinner with a couple friends at Moxie's.

I go here a lot. The room is really attractive with a nice atmosphere, the staff are friendly and great at what they do, and the food is delicious and reliable. Try the ribs - YUM!
I've been to other Moxie's in the past and, while they all have amazing food, this restaurant atmisphere is one of a kind.
We had a very nice dinner at Moxie's in Victoria. We don't have this chain in the US, so it wasn't like a chain for us. We had an absolutely charming waiter. He even let us all sample one of the soups to see if it was too spicy for our sick friend back at the hotel. (It wasn't --... more

When all else fails...hit up Moxie's Classic Grill on Yates! This definitely isn't your typical "cookie cutter" corporate restaurant that everyone thinks of. The main menu has yet to come even close to disappointing me and has something for everyone on it (honey garlic sirloin cooked medium rare...don't mind me while I drool a little) and their constantly changing roll-out menu is always fresh... more
The server was super nice and friendly. Put up listening to all my boyfriends lame jokes. I had the maple glazed wil salmon. Super delicious.
Nice veneer and, unlike most places in Victoria, one can get dinner after 8 pm but the food is uninspired, and has that distinctly "chainy" feel to it. Our meals (so generic, that I forget what I ordered) came fairly promptly, but were already cold, and the preparation and presentation lacked inspiration, enthusiasm, or any sort of pride. Service was... more
Moxie’s would be a good choice for a more “up-scale” weekend brunch compared to places like Spoons and Floyd’s Diner.
I came here with a large group for a surprise birthday party for a friend. The staff was very accomodating, they helped us surprise my friend and hid his wife, and also brought out the birthday cake for us, and took many pictures even from the balcony above for us all.

Well this would not have been my choice - a friend made the reservation. I tend to avoid the group of cloned restaurants (Earls, the Keg etcetera) mostly because the food is very over generalized but also because the only times I've went have been with male friends who like them for the waitresses. I usually wouldn't even bother writing a review but the service here was particularly awful!... more
Very good food here and staff are very friendly! Med Bread...YUMMMM
For the price, I think I could get better value elsewhere, but I haven't got any complaints about the food or the staff.
I've been several times and had good food each time. The only hiccup I've encountered was small pieces of the UPC sticker left on a Mango in my Mango Chipotle Chicken. I didn't bother to say anything, since things like that just don't worry me too much. It did show a bit of...

I've never had a bad meal at Moxie's. I've been ordering the penne toscana for years now (hold the sausage, add extra bacon) and I enjoy it every time. The drinks are good, the steaks are good, and the appies are delicious. The white chocolate brownies are to die for!
I've had both good food and bad food at Moxie's. The enchaladas are not recommended. You can get much better at any number of other places for far less. However, the xanga dessert is fantastic!
I decided to give Moxie's a try. I tend to avoid restaurants that like cloning themselves. I know why they exist:... more
I'm on the fence - love the atmosphere & location, nice patio - have had really good lunches and suppers here... but have also some horrible meals -that said, I keep going back
Their steak not only tastes terrible but the quality of the meat is poor in the first place. This does not keep them from charging premium for it though. I've had their steak twice and both times it was bad, so it is not just a one time mistake. Shame on you!
Fast food, family restaurant, parading as fine dining. If you want to go to a restaurant where you'll leave with and empty stomach and an empty wallet, Moxie's is the place for you.
My wife and I ate at this restaurant twice while we visited Victoria this month. We had nothing but the best experience with food and service. We will most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Ten of us visited for fathers day brunch.Great friendly service if you like that particular style of waiter friendliness this is the place to go. Part of a small Canadian chain, Moxie's offers an inviting, slightly rustic atmosphere with stone fireplaces and dark woods. The extensive menu is casually upscale and internationally influenced.
