The "BEST" spa in Canada. With my girlfriend.A weekend to remember!
We were in room 3116 from 8/1-8/7.
The housekeeping is very rude. Every morning at 8:00 am they get to work. They clean the rooms without a door wedge. This means they will go in and out of the door slamming it a hundred times hitting the dead bolt. The door will squeak and slam over and over again. We have our privacy card up each day so we can sleep in. The hotel staff could have some...

We loved everything about this hotel except the air conditioning. It seemed the room would cool off for a while then the thermostat would be automatically reset to a higher temperature. The service, staff, lobby pub were all wonderful. If they could just improve the air conditioning in the blistering hot summer they would get 5 stars.
They gave me a room with a great view of the river. The room was clean, albeit a little old room. Service was above average.
Old classic hotel. The pictures are exactly what you should expect. The hotel connects to train, metro, and in a great location. The doorman year was the best!! he gave suggestions for us for dinner and it was perfect. He was patient and has worked here for 37 years. He is full of Montreal knowledge!! Starbucks in hotel!!! No microwaves in any rooms. The scent of pot was prominent on our floor... plus
I booked a hotel room for a last minute trip to Montreal and realized 5 minutes later that my friend did not have his passport with him so we could not go. We immediately tried to get a refund and they refused. I lost $600.
I've been to this hotel during its greater days, 12 years ago. The truth is, it just feels tired, in a dire need of a face lift - not even renovations as per se, but a new look.
The location is alright, and so was the price. Won't repeat if I didn't have to, because Montreal has much more to offer.
I'm giving this "home away from home" 5 Stars. The location is amazing, and the people are fantastic. The hotel reminds me a bit of a Grande Dame - she is a classy lady of a certain age.
The doorman remembered me after not too long, and the bar staff are amazing - so friendly.
More vegetarian options on the menu would be welcome, I confess.
Other than that, it's all been said - if you like...

Hotel is in a great location and central. Nice view from our window facing over the park. The reception area is nice and the staff are friendly.
But the hotel is tired and in desperate need of a re-fit. The paint above the shower is peeling, the aircon makes a rattle noise And the curtains and carpet need replacing.
This review is for the spa at the hotel, l'ultime. Got a salt scrub and massage package from this spa. The salt scrub was ok. But I am sorry to report that the massage was the worst massage I have ever gotten in my life. First, the masseuse--who was otherwise a nice and gentle woman--audibly chewed gum the entire time. It was hard to focus on relaxation when I could hear her lips smacking and... plus
We stayed here on a recommendation from a friend.
First off, the location is perfect! Right in the heart of downtown Montreal you can easily walk to a ton of amazing restaurants, pubs, and attractions. It should also be noted that there is a Metro station entrance in the hotel lobby behind the concierge desk, so convenient! The Via Rail station is only 2 blocks away, which is a huge bonus as...

This property had been my go to Marriott Hotel on the planet as I am frequently in Montreal having stayed forty-six nights alone this year. I was just there four days ago and was treated very well as we know each other very well by now. I went online to check availability for last night and tonight as there was potentially a return trip to Montreal in the works or a trip to Toronto. I was... plus
Nice central/downtown location. Comfortable and reasonably spacious rooms that have been updated fairly recently. I had a fridge in my room too. Decent exec lounge and passable breakfast. Excellent views from the upper floors of the river and of downtown (opposite sides of the building).
Overall a great experience staying here. This hotel is really in the middle of either Downtown Montreal where you can explore shops, restaurants and other destinations or not to far from Old Montreal. It is walking distance but that may be subjective. It's also a quick taxi or Uber ride if that is more of your choice. The hotel has a Starbucks, a gift shop, a mens fashion store and is connected... plus
Great location, easy to get around and get to and from different parts of Montreal. We walked to the bell center and next door was an indoor ice rink. Cost was great and three days of parking my car there was $40 total (usd). Can't be that. Staff was super friendly and helpful.
Lovely hotel and in a convenient location close to the Centre Bell. The metro is literally below the hotel, as is the famous underground walkways. Less than 2 blocks away is the famous Dunn's restaurant, and I really loved the food there.
We had the breakfast buffet as part of our package, cold food only. I thought it would be lousy but found out it was not just Danish, but breads, meats,...

I went to the little pub in the Marriott hotel. Also, it's very sad to see such a beautiful and historic hotel in such bad shape ! The crystals were crooked on the chandeliers and outdated carpets. I know it gives it the vintage feel but they could've done more to upkeep the place.
I went to a networking event. The hotel chartered as well it was nice I got free tea and coffee. As well as water...

Beautiful Hotel!! They have a nice boutique in the lobby if you want to buy a couple of precious items, ie. watch, pens, bracelets. The breakfast buffet was very appealing and the hot order breakfast very good. A bit pricey but what else would you expect for a lovely hotel in the middle of downtown.
I especially had a great time in the bar. What a nice Scotch list, I had someone footing the...

Drove up through a blizzard and was warmly received -- despite the fact that we had come up to cheer for the Bruins. Self-park garage easy (tho they have valet). Rooms warm. Beds comfortable. Bar serves good scotch and decent bar food. Best part, tunnel directly to Bell Centre. No jacket required.
Loved the Location!! Great central location, we chose it b/c of how close it was to a metro! Once we arrived, we realized they had a Metro entrance directly connected to the Hotel, which was awesome since it was cold af!! We were on the 26th floor and the view was amazing! Ordered room service one of the nights and the food was pretty good, I got the Lamb shank, it was delicious! The staff was... plus
This hotel is in downtown which makes it convenient to go anywhere. There is a train station around the corner, and for about $10 / day unlimited ticket, you can explore pretty much all of Montreal.
The hotel has a nice indoor pool and an awesome gym where you can burn calories before and after you eat at surrounding cafes and restaurants. Will stay again in this hotel when we comeback for summer.
Very pleasant hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
Reviewers say the rooms are dated, but they are clean, perfectly maintained and with solid wood furniture that is classy, even if not 21st century modern. Plenty of drawers and counter space for storage. And sizable nighttables. Bed and feather pillows are very comfortable. Reviewers say the bathroom is small, but that is because it is...

Great hotel with an old fashion decor that will make you feel like you went back in time. The rooms are spacious and the decor is a hybrid between modern and old fashion. Not to mention, the great location - short walk to downtown shopping and has its own entrance to the train station. Old Montreal wasn't too far either. The Concierge Lounge has an amazing view of the Square Dorchester and the... plus
GREAT LOCATION
Near the city center and the old city. The hotel is celebrating it's 50th anniversary. The staff and especially the concierge staff are great.
The rooms are nice but the bathroom is extremely small.
Try to stay on a higher floor overlooking Mont Royal and the city.
We are Marriott Gold Elite members and have stayed at a number of locations in Europe and North America. We are in our 3rd day of a 5 day stay at this property. We would rate this property a weak 3 out of 5. The location is good, quite central to everything. The hotel is showing its age and needs attention to restore a Marriott standard. No mini-bar/fridge in the room, awkward bathroom... plus
We are having a lovely stay at this Marriott. Came with the family for a conference. The crib requested for the room was not ready at our arrival but was sent up within a few min, as well as the rollaway bed (at no additional cost).
There is a mini fridge in the room and amazing views of the city (22 floor).
There is a supermarket 2 blocks away (Provigo). Subway station right below the hotel...

I'm a Marriott Rewards Elite Member, so I opted for this hotel on a recent trip to Montreal.
The location of the hotel is great. It's a short walk to downtown shopping, the Jazz Fest, and Old Montreal. I even walked back from Mont Royal Parc after my visit there. If you're going to anything at Bell Centre, it's SUPER close. There's a metro station nearby, as well.
This hotel has been around a...

We are long time Marriott Elites so when we went to Montreal for a long weekend, we searched for Marriott in downtown that were family friendly. This was the winner since they also have a good pool. Checking in was smooth and easy and the staff was extremely pleasant and accommodating. The location was perfect... steps away from the Bell Centre, St. Catherine's, and pretty much everything you'd... plus
I really like my room - it's facing the river.
The bed is super comfortable and for the most part, the staff is friendly.
The elevator is super fast so it helped when I running to the conference room in the morning =P.
This is more like a 3-3.5* hotel stay, but excellent service from hotel staff bump it up to 4... everyone from the two sweet ladies in housekeeping, to the concierge for directions and sightseeing recommendations, parking valet and a particular shout out to Louis Philippe at the Elite check-in desk.
Originally we parked the car ourselves in the underground garage (hotel parking is on level 5)....

The food and service were excellent. I tried the red snapper with kale and couscous. Quiet atmosphere for dinner. Wine was very good as well. We had a large party.
This property lives up to the Marriott standards. Extremely helpful and efficient front desk. Good housekeeping. Excellent conference facilities and catering. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Delightful old-school downtown hotel - revisited
Over the past few weeks I had the opportunity to stay here again - as well as at another downtown Montreal hotel - and am happy to say that the Chateau remains my favorite hotel in Montreal. I'll admit my opinion may be biased by my fondness of mid-60s architecture but that is only part of the story. The Chateau is a traditional full service...

Excellent stay here with the family. We are gold category Marriott rewards folks and we're delighted with an upgrade. The level of service here is remarkably high. They take amazing care of their guests. Amenities were excellent. And the fact that it was connected to the metro and the underground city was a deal maker for us given that we are staying here over the holidays (during a snow storm!)
A classic older Marriott property. Excellent service and location in downtown Montreal. Beautiful views from my room. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. I especially liked the older doorman, he was a funny and friendly guy. Lots of cabs out front. Restaurant was fine for breakfast but over priced. $29 and no omelet station or custom dishes would have been perfect at $19. Liked the full... plus
If you are staying over for a Habs game....this is a great spot. Literally a 3 minute walk to the Bell Center. Nothing fancy room wise. Everything was clean, check-in was efficient, parking and room fees were reasonable. Starbucks on premise is nice also.
Solid 3 stars for location and value
No complaints from me - great location - the Metro is literally in the basement of the hotel and there is a Starbucks on site as well, in addition to a bar/restaurant and multiple gift shops.
The front desk staff was very helpful in answering our questions and getting a pizza delivered to our room for late night munchies.
I was impressed at how extensive the Fitness Center was, but thought...

We are Marriott Platinum and so you could say we are a fan of Marriott properties. We thought it was just "ok". It definitely could use some updating. The pool was AWFUL. No hot tub, and the pool itself was small and old. And the woman working at the spa (that you have to walk through to get to the pool) was very rude.
Service at the restaurant was inconsistent. Also, the trash in the lobby...

Nice room with oval window if you get a city view room. Bed was comfortable and rooms are quite (I was next to the elevator). Front desk and all service were friendly, attentive.
About 5 min walk to wherever restaurants/shops are (big blocks here in downtown)... not even a single restaurant within one block. So it's ok location but not the best.
Coffee machine in the room has no sugar/milk....

For a room with two beds we were charged $298.00 a night. Ok I understand, we have a view of the city. The view through the smudged and fingerprinted window was nice. The view was the ONLY positive thing about our stay. I will list the reasons why we will never return:- The floor was dirty and had a used dental floss container next to the bed- The sheets and pillows smelt like mold and f@!t-... plus
Attentive service, small menu but impressively prepared
Our stay at the Marriott Chateau in Montreal was perfect. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The room was great, everything you could need. Not to mention they have the best place to buy Canadiens stuff!
There were four of us, 2 kids. We made a make-shift beds for the kids using the comforters, blankets and pillows on the floor. The room was good size, view was nice, did not try the breakfast. The pool was not exceptionally clean, but a lot of fun for the kid.

This was our first stay at the Marriott Chateau Champlain and we were very pleased. We arrived to the hotel at 11:15 am and check in time was not until 3 pm. I wasn't expecting to check in so early (hoping maybe), but I had read on VT that... plus
Very smart, very convenient. Add ons somewhat expensive. Use computer to access e-mails $7; public library free!!!
Excellent service, wonderful facilities, and convenient transportation. Really couldn't ask for much more. Only thing that could use improvement was the television. I've just gotten used to the world of HDTV.
Pros: Gorgeous view, an awesome bed, excellent housekeeping, free lox and bagels at the VIP lounge upstairs (but i think you need status or to pay extra for access), and really good water pressure in the shower, central location
Cons: You're not allowed to smoke anywhere in the hotel (this is a pro for some people), limited TV
Unique Quality: Damn, that shower was good.
Directions: Downtown
It didn't start out very well. They were oversold the night we arrived, despite reservations that were made in four months prior. They were apologetic about putting us in a "parlor room" and treated us to breakfast the next morning. We moved us to a new room after our first night and everything ran smoothly from that point on.
Kudos to the conscierge(s) they had all of the right answers and...

I have stayed at the Marriott Chateau Champlain on 3 occassions, mainly for business, but one trip doubled as an extended stay for pleasure.
