With a friendly and hospitality staff, the Montecassino Hotel & Event Venue captures the essence of suite style and comfort. With an array of standard rooms and luxurious suites
The room was clean enough but it was dark and dingy. It smelled strongly of stale cigarette smoke and tables had burn marks. Wallpaper was bubbled in several places.
Can't do much better on price for a hotel near the subway in Toronto. No complaints.
We have stayed at the Montecassino hotel several times. We usually stay there for a night or two. Ware simple people, so this hotel suits our needs perfectly.
There was so much wrong with this hotel that it's hard to know where to start. At check-in, the desk clerk loudly announced my room number ("YOUR ROOM NUMBER IS 402") while other guests stood nearby within earshot. He took a $100 deposit "In case you trash the room." The room furnishings were threadbare, the furnace/air conditioner didn't work, 5 of the 6 lamps didn't work, and the 6th had a 40... more
Hotel staff were great... Banquet room was well set up... Beds were not very comfortable.
Breakfast is poor. Bar not cosy View from hotel unpleasant Rather cheap
Just disgusting and washroom was dirty.................................................................................................................. more
Very accommodating staff. My only problem way the hallway that echoes every single noise really loud. Bed was a bit flimsy. Overall good experience and I'd book with them again.
Its a comfortable sound proof room I enjoyed my stay very relaxing, breakfast is not all that great so if your looking for more then just waffles and bread then this is not the place for you. other then that its convenient.
Stayed at the Montecassino over the weekend, sept 6-8th. Arrived via taxi... the building is very strange, doesn't look like a hotel. The doors are in the back and not very clearly marked. The elevator is creepy- would have taken the stairs if I could find them! Anyway, the lobby/front desk is on the 2nd floor... The hotel staff were WONDERFUL. My friend and I were attending Riot Fest and... more
No wifi for the time I stayed was horrible, room was big , but dusty , food on the washroom floor , discussing !!!
Hotel was not very clean in bathroom and bed very uncomfortable!
Accommodations were good for the price. We were only looking for a room for the night which was clean and comfortable. The room was a little dated and the tub/shower faucet did not work so we only got hot water. For what we paid and the location, it wasn't bad.
I drove up and wanted free parking, but close enough to get downtown via the TTC. I grew up here so buses and trains are nothing new. This is a good place to stay for a reasonable price. Free breqkfast, free parking, and a good location, close to ON 401 to go anywhere. I'll stay here again!
Stayed here so I wouldn't have to drive downtown. Worked out perfectly, it's far from downtown but an easy walk to the subway. You can tell it was once a very nice hotel, but it has since been worn down. Wifi worked great, I didn't try the included breakfast.
We selected this hotel for its proximity to our destination the following day.it was challenging to find the main entrance as it is around the side of the hotel and not well marked. The foyer is on the second level. The check-in night staff were brusque and unhelpful with our questions, that is after we were finally attended to. The hotel is dated, everything works though and the shower had a... more
Room was recently renovated. Big comfortable exec room. One girl working check-in and another trying to do everything else so was a bit short staffed but they were extremely pleasant and tried to be as helpful as possible. Surprised that the couch did not turn into a pullout bed, which we needed and there were no cots available. At least it was an very comfortable leather couch for one of my... more
For the price it wasTerrible. Breakfast wasn't all that. They mixed water in the juices. Not enough sit at breakfast. I felt like it was an upscale motel. The staff was very nice and pleasant: the staff were the best features. It was too far from main attractions. The interior was nice.
Situated in an industrial area in an old rundown building. This hotel should not even be on a hotel reservation site.
Not what I expected for what we paid to start the lobby is on the 2nd floor. The furniture, TV and door to the room are out dated. You need an actual key to open the door. The hotel is in isolated area, not a nice view from the room. We checked in 2 hours later and our room was not ready, they had to commodate us to another room that they just finished cleaning.
Breakfast could be improved... Much more affordable than the CN tower area hotels.
Provided a clean environment for our stay in Toronto for a couple of days
While the hotel could use some upgrading (elevators, some damaged furniture, etc.), it is quite pleasant and a good value for its location.
It took a while to find the entrance door. The reseptionist was pleasent but from then on, I felt as if I was in 80s. Dark wall paper on the walls of the room and bathroom with insuficient and old lights. The furniture was old, scratched and cracked. The TV was an old 24" TV and terribly placed for view from the bed. The bed was old and squeeky but clean. The couch was an old one with holes and... more
We paid for a queen suite with a kitchenette and free breakfast. The suite was not a suite - it was just a room. The kitchenette was nothing more than a counter with a sink in it, a small microwave, a single serving coffee maker and a mini fridge--no stove--no utensils--no dishes--nothing else. Parking was extremely limited and if the banquet rooms were being used, you can't get a parking spot.... more
The worst hotel room I've ever stayed in. Very outdated. Staff was great.
Cigarette burns on the furniture, old furniture, lightbulbs out in 2 lamps, could not turn off the A/C - had to unplug it, terrible pillows, kind of scary overall.
I wouldn't stay there again. The furniture looked like it came from a swap meet - the bases of all the lamps were cracked, cigarette burns on the end tables, etc. It was easy to get to and the air conditioner worked great. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. It was just the overall condition of the room . . .
had a great experience, enjoyed my one night at the ball game and catching up with my brother.
The hotel is on the edge of an industrial park and an old airport. The tv didn't work and took three days to fix. Even then, it had limited service and was clearly old and outdated. The check-in counter is on the second floor and the entrance is in an awkward location and not easy to find.
The hotel was fine and we would stay there again. The service was terrific, the rates are reasonable and the people working there are very kind. The hotel could use some "updating" but overall, that is not an issue. With the opening of a new subway stop a block away in 2016, the hotel will be a great place to stay outside downtown but within easy reach of downtown.
I enjoyed my stay. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. It's great to have wi-fi available in the room (not all places have that!!) and it was easy to get to from Downsview Subway station. I would recommend it to friends and family.
I didn't expect what kind of hotel I am gonna be in. Excellent service from the front desk to cleaning staff. Big huge room, comfy bed and most of all, free breakfast. Very affordable hotel.
Overall no real complaints. Rooms need a reno, cigarette burns everywhere. Other than that rooms were clean, beds were clean no smell. View of CN tower. Tvs are small and old.
It was a nice stay in the hotel, the wifi was bad since we barely had connection in our room. Other than that everything was okay
nice except no a/c in the room. or if there was it didnt work. Only complaint though. Room was big. Had bedroom plus a sitting room, each had a tv. Room had a mini fridge.
The hotel is in definite need of an update but other than that the hotel was just fine. Rooms were clean and spacious and hotel ataff was friendly. Been twice already and will probably go again
Hard to sleep with loud music playing in the hall banquet/facility that is on the main floor of the hotel. The cleaning staff did not refill coffee/tea. Do not provide coffee mugs, only plastic cups. Which they also don't refill or give you new ones.
The Venue Room was fabulous and we were very well looked after . It was so nice to be able to let my head rest on a nice clean bed soft pillow after al the celebration of two young people beginning their lives together
book the upgraded room. They are brand new and spacious and lovely
The hotel was very clean with the exception for the stair case where a little pile of dirt was swept but was not picked up. The ice box was broken so we were left going home with our wine. The camera in the elevator did not look very professional. Over all the rooms were very clean, and I would definitely rerun.
the 2nd day we were stuck at te room becaus there was no water from 12-5 pm. and the didn't even compensate us. in simple words, nevere book this hotel.
WE booked a block of rooms at this hotel for an event and found them to be very good for the price. The hotel is immaculate and we found the desk staff to be helpful with any issues that came up for our group. For the price, in the city of Toronto, in a safe area, this hotel is a great value. It is basic but it is also very acceptable.
The facilities are designed to cater to the banquet halls, which are excellent and most of the guests stay their for weddings. Why anyone would book this hotel for any other reason is beyond me... there is nothing around that area. Anyway, being a banquet hall first and a grimy hotel second, people are usually up all night, so it is noisy, the service isn't great, the price is too high for a... more
While the banquet facilities are top notch, the hotel is not. Narrow hallways, with marble floors, so when folks are talking in the hallway you hear it. No hot water to take a shower by 10:00 a.m. is disgusting!! While it was convenient to have a room at the same place as the party, I was not impressed with this hotel and wouldn't want to stay there again.
The staff at the hotel we very helpful and friendly. It's a good hotel for the price; clean, w/ basic ammenities. Continental breakfast is toast, muffins, bagels, cerial. Location is not fantastic, and we expected a refridgerator we didn't get, but it's not bad.
