The Al Green Theatre is a lovely space. It's not very large, in terms of seating but can fit in a decent amount of viewers for any show. Seats have a nice cushions to them.

My whole family has been going to the Bloor JCC since we moved to Toronto many years ago.

I now live in the area and spend a ton of time at the gym. It pretty much has it all:

- nice facilities
- a new basketball court
- every type of weight and machine you could need
- a salt water pool
- a great saltwater hot tub and wet and dry saunas

I had to pay an enrollment fee of about $60 after stopping my membership for 6 months! I find this totally ridiculous. Don't they want people coming back?

This place is a pretty basic gym. The best thing about it is no one goes there!

Pros:

1-Super-convenient location. Right Spadina and Bloor and every easy to get to.
2-Reasonable membership fees (compared to what I have heard elsewhere).
3-Not that busy (especially when compared to the YMCA).
4-Toileteries are always available.

Cons:

Buoy oh buoy I like salt water swimming, and as far as I know this is the only pool in Toronto that provides the saline experience. In a time when I may have slightly skewed my salty dog: salty swim ratio, the steam room here was also a crucial part of my workout, as were the long lingering afternoons around the change room pretending to be "one of the gals."*

I swim here once a week, nice pool, especially on a sunny afternoon - too bad it is not olympic size. Add on dry sauna, steam, whirlpool - with 2 towels and taxes $ 20.00 total. . Bring your lock, and dress light when you enter, , lockers are small . Very clean place, friendly staff everywhere.

They have absurd membership fees and don't care one bit about customer retention. They implemented a "new member" fee and made old members pay the fee! That's just ridiculous. The facilities are excellent, clean, and well-maintained by helpful and friendly staff. I would love to rate MNJCC on a high scale, but their membership policies seem to fly against the rationale of customer retention.

A really great downtown gym location with a Second Cup inside! The JCC has really affordable group fitness classes for both member and non-members alike. Classes like Nia (dance fitness), yoga and capoeira are lots of fun to try!

Did you know the JCC has a movie theatre? I had no idea. The movies they play are fantastic. Excellent value also. The JCC offers so much to the entire community. I would highly recommend you check it out. There really is something for everyone

It's not the biggest or flashiest health club in the city, BUT....unlike most health clubs in Toronto....they don't play any B.S. health club games.

The monthly price is the same for everybody
I have never heard anybody complain about any billing issues
The place is CLEAN
The toiletries never run out
and the staff is genuinely friendly

I love the JCC. It is the best place to chill out before or after work. Swimming in the salt water pool is sublime and rejuvenating, as is the hot-tub. Very friendly staff. There are often interesting art/or photographic exhibitions just off the lobby. You can top off the experience with a cappucino from the Second Cup.

The facilities are always sparkling clean and the staff are helpful and friendly.

If you live downtown Toronto, chances are you know the large JCC building at the corner of Bloor and Spadina. What a lot of people may not be aware of is their amazing fitness facility that is open to everyone of all races and religious backgrounds. Most people assume you need to be Jewish to participate in the various programs they offer but that is not the case.
