Reminiscent of an authentic trattoria with wooden tables and Italian music, we invite you to share a taste of Italian culture at Mezza Notte. Our success was built on a very simple premise: offer high-quality fresh food at affordable prices, in a warm and casual atmosphere, while being committed to service excellence. Come in and enjoy Mezza Notte's ... more

Just visited Mezza Notte on Yonge St. in Toronto. This was a Monday evening at 7pm. The Italian salad was excellent and the spaghetti with seafood was very nicely done and very tasty. Followed by a delicious raspberry cheesecake.
On ordering, the pizza and onion bread condiments were cold and not very fresh tasting... we would have preferred hot or...

Excellent eatery
Feels like a family restaurant, they make their own pasta!
Again four meals all excellent, I had the seafood pasta, prepared in a bag!
Note this restaurant is Yonge and the 401
Parking was out back
I would repeat
Liquor was $30 total meal tax and tip $68 total bill $98
Recently visited the Thornhill location for lunch and experience very inattentive, unfriendly and unprofessional service even though the restaurant was virtually empty. I have been to both the Thornhill and Yonge locations several times, the portions are quite large, but the food is just average and the service has never been very impressive. There are better places to eat, I... more
Just had lunch, chewy calamari, overly sauced crespelli. Pleasant wait staff. Overall, pretty ho hum.
Pasta is perfect and sauces all home made. The veal is astonishingly tender and tasty - served with the veg is the perfect dinner. They delivered to us so we were able to enjoy at home - still nice and hot
The evening began with a half hour wait. Clearly a misunderstanding of the word reservation. Followed by a free appetizer to make up for the wait. Very average food, which is stretching it a little. Finished with an argument in a parking lot with a disgruntled employee. Class joint. Instead try East-Side Mario's. At least there you know what you're getting.
For Italian, best option in the area, Finch-Sheppard on Yonge. Typical selections, pizza best option. Service could improve. Reservations a must, save the wait time. Skip the Caesar salad, save your money. Good wine selection.
Unfriendly and rude reception. Once we got seated it took forever to get our server over. Food was ok not what it used to be. Pasta was too soft portion sizes got smaller. I will not waste my time and my money again.
I've been here several times and have always had a great experience. The servers are friendly and thee food is always tasty. The spanakopita and baklava are positively divine.
Once me and my bf were seating at home and I suddenly had a craving for good Italian pizza bit the one from Boston pizza and other Americanize places. So we went to this place cause it is just several meters away from our home. First of all, they have a great selection of pizza whatever you prefer is there!!! So... more
I was there last night with a party of twelve and we were all very pleased with the quality of the food and the service. Would definitely return again.
This place looks and sounds like a neighbourhood trattoria but it is a disappointing experience with overcooked pasta smothered in fairly bland sauces. Three of us had different dishes and we all headed to Loblaws after to get something with flavour.
I love the food and the service offered by Mezza Notte. It has become a bi-weekly tradition for my children and I to visit this establishment for a lovely Saturday night dinner.
This is one of the better places in North York. Good food, reasonably upscale suit and tie place. The pasta is excellent and there is a decent wine list. Lunch for two with some wine is around $100. Only downside is that it is very noisy. If you want a quiet chat try the first room near the bar -... more
Horrible service. Didn't even get seated to try the food. We were told the wait would be 30 min even less. They had 3 tables empty. Ended up waiting 45 min then when I went up to ask, we were told another 15-20 min wait, or to eat at the bar that was already full. How can you expect customers to spend more time waiting to be seated than actually eating the food.
For an extra dollar, you can exchange for whole wheat penne. The server recommended pizza, but I enjoyed the mushroom pasta last time and chose it again. This time however, I found that most mushrooms were button and it wasn't the variety I expected. My capellini had barely enough sauce and the similar dish of penne had more aside but... more
We were regulars at the Yonge Street location and they now have a new location on Disera Drive in Thornhill that is also great! The Thornhill location is has a very nice decor, the food is equally delicious and the service is always excellent. Pizzas, pastas and veal dishes are favourites. Very good value for a nice evening out and... more
Have been to both locations and they have never disappointed myself or anyone I have recommended the place to. Portions are generous, not like the small servings you get at some Italian restaurants who care about the presentation and not the portion size (though the presentation is also a plus at this restaurant). My favorite appetizer is the grilled vegetables... more
Beem going to Mezza Notte for years and have always had great food and vibrant atmosphere. Definitely a neighborhood gem. They also deliver and I've had many private functions there and the food and service were fabulous! Rob the owner is so pleasant to deal with.
My pasta was OK though my wife's fettucine was better (still only OK). The chicken with mushroom didn't look that appetizing and my guest said it wasn't. Luckily he had a salad that was good and was quite filling. One positive is that the portions are large - so decent value from that standpoint. But its prices are somewhat high... more
We had a BD party in one of the small private rooms! Big mistake, they forgot about us. Service awful, forgot one appetizer, we waiting too long for it. Then one dinner was over cooked, they did bring another at no charge but, the overall experience was not good. Also, the bread is horrible, they dont have the room for... more
We were a large business group and were seated in the private back room for dinner. The furnishings are very plain, but the very good food made up for the lack of atmosphere. The service was bit on the slow side, but our waiter worked very hard as he had to look after our large group of nine by himself.... more
I went to the north York location last Saturday. When I first got to the resteraunt my first thoughts were that this is a typical Italian resteraunt but when the friendly host greeted us and sat us at our table my thoughts were changed. Right after we were sat we for greeted by our friendly server and he happily took our order soon after the food came out my thoughs were changed again because... more
The place is decent, though parking is a huge problem, as the lot in the back is usually full and the idiots from teh City of Toronto do nto let you park anywhere in the street behind. The food is OK, a bi toverrated, but good enough and consistent. Service is uneven. teh place is popular with people from the... more
On the west side of Yonge just south of Finch Ave. The restaurant has a lot of employees. The kitchen is full of cooks, serving staff etc. The appetizers run about $10, average meal entrée $20+, pizza about $15.
The food is good no argument there. We had Mediterranean Salad, a Chicken dish and a Pizza for $60+ no wine...

Good service however the food was 6/10. Had a regular pasta dish and was not too happy with it. Ver bland.

My bf and I wanted some italian comfort food (he specifically wanted veal parm) in a cozy environment at 10pm on a Monday! So we decided to give it a try, we were surprised that there were still several tables so late in the night, and so we thought this place must be at the very least decent! And it most definitely was, especially for its price range, the food was tasty and the breads that...

This place is so amazing. Everything here is perfect. The service, so extremely nice. The food, unbelievable every bite gets better and better if that's even possible. Everything they have is so good I highly highly recommend this place if you want real good Italian food.
I am not even going to give one star, I will never go there again. To begin with, waitress came right away with our menu before asking if we wanted a drink. My boyfriend's back was to the kitchen and I was facing it. Their serving supplies are we're behind my boyfriend. When the waitress needed to get oil and... more
It's a trattoria ao the seating lets you get to know your neighbour lol, but the food is consistently flavourful and well presented. The servers are professional not students, and the decor is charming. Good date place or small group dinner. Private room in the back seats about 20.
This authentic Trattoria, with italian music, pictures of Ferraris, and a some genuine italian patrons, justifies the trek to this rather non-descriptive strip plaza in North York. We came for the Pizza, and we were not disappointed. The service was friendly, and attentive. The restaurant was clean, inviting. The Napolitan Pizza, was well made, with lots of cheese, a delicious crust.... more
This charming trattoria is in the most unhospitable strip of a Yonge Street plaza, next to a Aren't we Naughty store, but inside it is warm, hospitable, and full of good things. Our party of ten were greeted warmly by the hostess and our smiling server. The menu offers some unusual and delcious starters, and we loved the lumachi (snails)... more
I came from out of town today for a pre-Mother's Day lunch with my mom and grandmother and picked Mezza Notte (Thornhill location) based purely on it's online reviews. I'm thrilled to report that we were not disappointed! The food was fantastic - incredibly fresh and tasty, perfect sized portions and temperature hot (a great concept that many restaurants have... more
The service was good quality, but slow. However the chicken supreme was incredible!
We have been going to this restaurant for the past 10 or more years...it is the perfect place to go with friends to share a nice bottle of wine, warm homemade bread and a delicious pasta. Prices are reasonable .. it is a 5 minute walk from The Toronto Center for the Arts. If you have time order the Antipasto... more
Great location from the hotel where we were staying. Very nice atmosphere, waiter was excellent and the food was very good!
For those people who said the pasta and pizza was not good and would tell someone to go to Pizza Pizza - then you have no taste for food. Both locations have wonderful food, great service and friendly service. Some people just need to stay home and eat and stop giving great restaurants bad reviews. Mezza Notte - keep doing a great job and offering great food - in the restaurant as well as your... more
Great traditional Italian food, great pasta's great Pizza and good size portions. We've been going to the original location for 10 years and you are guaranteed to have a great meal.
The crowd does get a little loud on occasions though, usually a family celebration of some sort,,, so if you want a quiet dinner it could be hit or...

be sure to make a reservation in advance. Expect great food in generous portions, with servers who smile and take their work seriously. And when you leave, expect fair prices.
Enjoy!!!
Good, not great. Cheese pizza lacked sauce, while homemade pasta with veggie sauce was bland. Good, quick service. Probably Best for pre- show apps instead of dinner.
Went here recently with colleagues for dinner as it is close to the Toronto office. Small little place, right on Yonge ... probably around 30 tables. We were sat immediatley which was nice though the rest of the evening, service was VERY slow. It was not very busy either; ordered a round of drinks (took 10 minutes) and then some... more
I came close to having an orgasm while eating their food. The staff were extremely friendly in helping me keep my excitement to a minimum. All the amazing food makes me feel like im in my nonna's kitchen as it is very traditional and authentic italian.
Try the pasta - also the salads are excellent. Della Nona is probably their best dish.
My husband and I go to visit this restaurant as well as order in cause they deliver! It is not fancy, it is very noisy cause of how busy it is all the time and a family place. Great Italian food though! Family owned and ran for many years in North York, with another location now in Thornhill on Bathurst.... more
Last my mothers birthday was celebrated at mezza yonge st. Service was so so, but the food was pathetic, and not even close to authentic Italian cuisine. Want better pizza / pasta? Try abbruzzo or pizza nova! No joke! Thier penne was over cooked, the sauce was like out of a can, and the pizza - zero flavore. Not sure how high rating was achieved but goes to show not all reviews are accurate.
Been here a couple times for take-out and it's nothing to write home about. It's a little better than franchise pizza. Interestingly enough, I think the waitresses shop at the Aren't We Naughty store in the same plaza - the hostess was hanging out of her dress and though this may whet some people's appetite, it turned me off mine.
I had had take out from this place before, ordered by a friend a while back and was won over by the gnocchi. Visiting the bricks and mortar of this establishment for the first time, the food did not disappoint. My partner had the quattro staggioni pizza and I, though hummed and hawed over the menu, decided to go back... more
I have been going to Mezza Notte for 10 years and have always had an amazing experience. The owners are always very delightful and accommodating. The food is fantastic. I recently visited the new location in Thornhill and always a great experience for us. The price and the food is top notch.
We went to Mezza Note with our 3 year old for a family dinner last Sunday evening and were treated as if we were doing them a favor by spending our money in their restaurant. Upon entering the restaurant and being greeted by the unprofessionally dressed maitre'd, we were told that we had to be done by 6:30 ... no problem, as it was just 5:00, however, the restaurant only had one table occupied.... more
Just wanted to express my delight after visiting and having dinner at the New Location Mezza Notte Trattoria at 11 Disera Dr., Thornhill. Their new location opened in September 2010, and is tastefully decorated in a modern theme.
My family is Italian so strangely enough we eat alot of Italian food when we go out as well. This is one of the best and most consistent places in Toronto. It's always busy-which is a greta signa dn the prices are great. The take-out is fast and delicious.
This is your typical italian trattoria. The food was good, the pizzas were delicious. I was there a few months ago, so I don't quite recall what my party had to eat, but I can assure you I have gnocchi which were fantastic and we all left satisfied. It was very busy though, but they do take reservations. Worth trying!
After all these years, still go retreat to this for good Italian when all the chain resteraunts fail.
Delicious food, great service, nice ambiance and good Italian everything...Parking kind of sucks, but the rest makes up for it.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto. We've been going here for over 10 years and have never been disapointed. Great people, great service, great food and great wine!!
we had heared our favorite waiter Giancarlo was working there, he would serve us at our favorite spot in toronto. Food was good commercial nothing fancy. busy place but they should take reservations.
Great food and service. Very cozy environment. Can get busy on the weekends, but certainly a great place to take a date. Would recommend to all.
Good food, but the time I went I got a very crusty waiter ..... but again the food was good! not a bad price either
i really loved mezz notte and i love going there every time i get a chance i go for dinner with my hubby. the food is wonderful and so is the service
great italian food at reasonable price.
Delivery available.
Best Italian food (bread's great!)
Mezza Notte Trattoria offers these services: banquets, salles, réception, pizza, pizzeria, restaurant.
Located near the North York Civic Centre and Mel Lastman Square, Mezza Notte Trattoria came into existence when brothers Robert and Gus Savonarota decided to pack in their successful Mamma's Pizza franchise and go into the real restaurant business. The result is a 90-seat space where pizza takes a backseat to Chef Franco Di Renna's salads, antipasti, pasta, meats and fish. While the pasta,... more
