Nice inexpensive hotel with a great staff, but they need to overhaul both elevators pronto. One of the two elevators was out of service. What a pain waiting 15 min for for the elevator to arrive almost every time.

Wifi is not good. It took forever to load anything and typically crashed and disconnected altogether. Would not recommend staying here while needing to work.

We really enjoyed staying the weekend. Great location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, nice pool/fitness facilities. Hotel Parking is unreasonably expensive, I suggest parking at easypark across the street on Howe( below the pacific centre), which is only $15 per day on weekend ( as compared to $40 parking at the hotel). I've stayed before and this hotel has never been a disappointment.It is in walking distance of the business center of Vancouver and the entertainment district.

Nice hotel

I stay here a lot and its a great hotel, good location, nice staff, good facilities. The restaurant is also fantastic. Only problem this time around was that the elevators didnt work well. One out of order and the other was very bumpy and not installing confidence in anyone using it.

Stayed here for 5 days while attending a conference. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown; however, the hotel has issues. I was so surprised to be treated like royalty at a hotel I paid a little more than I would for a cheap motel. This place is awesome! The staff was wonderful. Doors were opened for us. Well designed hotel in need of update

All amenities are very good - it just is in need of update. Elevators are always in repair and a lot of things show their age and many need repair - Also parking is $40 per day ! I would only stay if the price is low.

Poor internet

I could not get any internet connection. I tried various different internet connections as instructed from your hotel staff, but could not get any good internet. ( this was disappointing to me as I had to use the business center for any significant internet actions.

Here for Business.

I was in Vancouver for less than 24 hours for a meeting. The hotel was close to my meeting and was the perfect spot to stay in. I only wish I was there longer! Staff were polite and welcoming. Breakfast was nice and the overall feel of the hotel was good. Furnishings were a bit tired and bathrooms a bit dated but overall a perfect stay.

A great hotel

We stayed a night at the Met before the 2014 Vancouver Sun Run. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was smallish, but clean and comfortable. Bed was a tad firm for my liking, but not like sleeping in a board!
We couldn't ask for more!!! We'll definitely be back!

Appreciate the free WiFi

Stayed here for a Trade Show weekend -- my 2nd time, and very happy. One of the few hotels where WiFi is free, and that is appreciated for a working weekend. Staff is really friendly, and I was allowed to check in early.

Some of the staff are nice. Unfortunately some don't seem to be. I didn't initially feel welcome here, but settled in. The Parking costs are astronomical 40-45$/night! Work that into the cost and I could've afforded a better hotel.

Great location - decent amenities

I stayed here on a quick 2 night business trip in March 2014. The hotel is central to downtown - restaurants, the art museum and the sky train. The gym has a couple of treadmills, machines and free weights. The concierge was especially helpful with reservations for our client dinner.

The restroom was great (showers, bathtub and sinks). The beds were good, but it was smaller than what I typically expect (probably because the restroom was so large). The parking wasn't complimentary so I had to shell out $40 /day for it. The TV wasn't even HD and it was small. For the most part, it was pretty good for downtown area.

Booked a room at the front desk for 3 nights but had told thelady that I may not need them all. When I checked out a day early they said I was given a non-refundable room rate and cannot get my money back. I booked the room as a walk-in.

Visited Vancouver and, unfortunately,stayed for only two nights. Great hotel: staff were all very friendly, rooms were very comfortable and well equiped. Location was also very good for transport links to the airport but also some of the tourist attractions including Gas Town, China Town ,museums, etc.

Wonderful classy hotel

Wonderful hotel with lots of room in the two person room. The staff was very accommodating and we loved the food, including three teenager daughters. Would stay there again. Really nice hotel for an amazing price.

Everything was great about the hotel, except for two problems with our stay. Our queen bed was somewhat hard and it was a double. Also, one of the elevators was broken during our whole 3 night stay which made for some long wait times. Aside from that a nice room with a lot of nice features. They cancelled my second day with no penalties and helped me to call Air Canada to change my flight, so as I can go home earlier. 2 Nights in Vancouver

I travel a lot for business and I found this to be one of my favorite hotels.

We were only there for less than a day. Very helpful staff, great location. Excellent pancakes at Diva!!

Metropolitan Hotel

The Metropolitan Hotel is in an excellent location and made getting around very easy. The staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were clean.

Great central location

Wonderful, helpful staff. Great location for access to Stanley Park, aquarium, Gastown, Granville Island, waterfront, and shopping.

Not that drammatic

Did not provide coffee each day as required. Removed bathing robe before our last day. Did not provide 2 robes to begin with. Think they are better than what they are. Would not recommend to anyone.

Metropolitan Hotel

From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel we were the only ones in the hotel. [...] at the front desk was efficient, friendly and upbeat. The hotel is in walking distance to not only tourist attractions but fabulous restaurants. The linens made us feel like we were in a petite hotel. We were truly impressed.

Great location & rooms!

Very nice rooms with huge bathrooms. Friendly & helpful staff. My sons very much enjoyed the fitness center. Great location for everything in downtown Vancouver.

Good location, but construction noise

We were able to walk to Robson street to shop and we had plenty of restaurant options for meals. Parking was expensive and there is a lot of construction going on near the hotel, likely in preparation for the 2010 Olympics.

great room but a noisy place

great location, convenient to all downtown places, very nice and lean room.all rooms are noisy because if you stay in the front side of the hotel, you hear the traffice noise, if you stay at the rear side, here is a construction going on which does not seem to finish in a year or two - it's a construction site of another hotel just 10 feet away

Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver

Very elegant hotel. Clean, nicely decorated, helpful staff. Expensive parking at the hotel but that is to be expected when staying in a city. Definitely recommend this hotel.

business trip

while i was there i was on a business trip so i was in the room just to change clothes or to sleep. every thing in the hotel was great and i didnt needed anything at the time. the hotel is a little different and but i like it! the staff are very nice and if you need something they were there when i needed a thing.

Fabulous hotel!

An upscale hotel right in the heart of Vancouver! The room was spotless, the linens luxurious,the bathroom was all marble and very spa-like. The hotel was quiet, the staff friendly and helpful. They had a business center with a computer,printer & fax. It was within walking distance to the Art Museum, resturants, and lots of great shopping. Who could ask for more? We loved it!

Great location, great deal on Orbitz

Top notch, high quality, beautiful, clean room. Very comfortable bedding and nice staff. No complaints. Pricey, but saved quite a bit through Orbitz off the price on the hotel's website. Very satisfied.

Very friendly staff. Great location to everything. Construction next door but not that noisy. I would recommend to others.

Downtown, good for shopping

I chose this hotel because it was downtown and seemed close to everything, which for the most part was true. The bathroom was the best feature, although I thought all rooms had separate bath tubs from the showers, and mine was a combo. The sauna and pool/gym facilities were very clean. Excellent location, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Great Location; Great Hotel!

This hotel was a real gem. The service was outstanding, the rooms are large and very comfortable, and the staff was extremely helpful. I would come back again and also visit any of the other Metropolitan locations.
