Two lions guard the entrance, and a striking antique gold-leaf temple carving graces the lobby of this full-service business-district hotel. The spacious rooms, all designed according to the principles of feng shui, are decorated in muted colors; even the standard rooms have luxurious extras, such as cozy duvets and Italian-made Frette bathrobes. Centrally located between the financial district and downtown shopping areas, the Metropolitan is geared toward business and leisure travelers who want traditional luxury and full service. Guest rooms feature large, marble-tiled bathrooms with separate tub and shower, and wonderfully comfortable beds with Frette Italian linens. Once a Mandarin Oriental hotel, The Metropolitan’s Feng Shui designs now ease sluggish tourists into a Zen-like state. Modern, uncluttered and edgy, the minimalist lines of the rooms offer plenty of space for storing Marciano shopping bags. CEOs, their ladies-who-lunch and local media personalities fill prime seats at the hotel’s premium restaurant, Diva at the Met. Out of town guests revel in... more
So... The rooms are nice so far. We checked in this afternoon and ordered room service off the late night menu: 1) the sandwiches we ordered are on the menu with "home made Yukon gold potato chips," and they showed up with mixed nuts instead; 2) the Caesar salad, per the menu, includes bacon and croutons - but didn't when we received it. For a 17% service charge AND a $5 delivery fee, this is a... more
Convenient and confortable hotel located at a fantastic place to discover Vancouver: near the ocean, Downtown, art center and the public library. Staff friendly and efficient.
The Met's central location is nice, but the vibe is unnecessarily pretentious (down to the name of the hotel bar, "Diva") and the decor lacks taste. Seemed overpriced and the tech was slightly out-of-date: Outlet options were power-strips plugged into the wall. The toilet phone was weirdly charming.
If anything can be said about this hotel, it's in a great location in the financial district across the Pacific Center and it's very central to everything. When you take the SkyTrain from YVR, you get off at the Vancouver City Centre. You go out of the station and go left to Georgia Street and then turn right down Howe. You walk down a little bit and you're there. Look for the navy awning and... more
The location is great! Close to sky line station & mall.
Easy in & out. If u love to walk, most place r walking distance to go around 20-30 minutes. Yes, the price is affordable.
While I don't come to Vancouver as much I want, whenever I do, I always stay at Metropolitan. Whether you use the Booking or Hotels.com websites, the price is always extremely reasonable. And, for that reasonable price, you get a nice, clean room that is only a stone's throw away from most places in downtown Vancouver. You have Pacific Centre across the street, a Tim Hortons a block or 2 down... more
Had an enjoyable stay here. The amenities were good, with the business center, pool and gym all being what you would expect from a nice hotel. The rooms were comfortable and well stocked. The bathroom felt luxurious with a beautiful shower and bathtub and overall the size was huge. The location was centrally located to nice restaurants and shopping, so it was perfect for a weekend vacation. The... more
LOVE this place. Their executive suite was amazing, had everything you needed in there, 2 toilets, a powder room, kitchen, dining room, living room, very comfortable king bedroom, tub and great view of downtown Vancouver. Very accommodating service too (from valet to servers at Diva). Hotel itself looks fresh, new and very clean. No one used pool, gym or hot tub when we were there so it felt... more
Warm and welcoming, very comfortable and clean. Walk to great shopping, the Vancouver Art Gallery, and restaurants galore--but be sure to try their own restaurant, DIVA, which is a hidden gem with award-winning talent in food and pastry! Wow!
The hotel staff was always helpful, courteous and prompt while the adjoining hotel restaurant had very good food at a comfortable price. The rooms were clean and somewhat spacious; however, the beds were not as comfortable as one would expect for a hotel classified as luxury. The central location was great for accessibility to Vancouver sites of interest; however, there was typical city event... more
Wanted something close to the train station, that was also central to the waterfront & other attractions. We usually stay at the Marriott, but got a good deal on the price, so decided to try this hotel. Very impressed & glad we chose this place. Good staff, very helpful. Concierge and front desk were great. A very comfortable place to stay with excellent facilities.
The rooms are not large but efficiently laid out. The staff was pleasant.
Great hotel in the city. easy access to public transportation and shopping. The Hotel staff always ready to assist, very nice. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious. I would definitely recommend the Metropolitan.
Small boutique hotel but close to everything. Rooms are good size and clean.
Phones, outlets, kurrig snd toilet not working. Talking to front desk only got toilet fixed. Not happy
Nice hotel right in the middle of downtown Vancouver and right across the street from the 4 Seasons hotel where I have stayed hundreds of times. Rooms are very nice; appears the bathroom was recently completely redone in all travertine.
The hotel was exactly what I expected for a good downtown hotel: good quality, clean, good service. Not really fancy but very good for the price.
Friendly staff, nice hotel with the exception of having the elevator too slow.
Nice inexpensive hotel with a great staff, but they need to overhaul both elevators pronto. One of the two elevators was out of service. What a pain waiting 15 min for for the elevator to arrive almost every time.
Wifi is not good. It took forever to load anything and typically crashed and disconnected altogether. Would not recommend staying here while needing to work.
Great location everything is a bus a way. Or 15 to 30 minutes walking distance
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The room was large with a very comfortable bed, a large bathroom with great facilities. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
We really enjoyed staying the weekend. Great location, comfortable bed, friendly staff, nice pool/fitness facilities. Hotel Parking is unreasonably expensive, I suggest parking at easypark across the street on Howe( below the pacific centre), which is only $15 per day on weekend ( as compared to $40 parking at the hotel). We hope to be back at this hotel in the future!
I've stayed before and this hotel has never been a disappointment. It is in walking distance of the business center of Vancouver and the entertainment district.
Finally, a downtown hotel that appreciates us and our dogs:) Front desk, housekeeping and concierge very helpful and friendly! Would be a 5 star but bartender seemed "put out" when we stopped in for a night cap after a fun filled day in downtown:(. Location is great and rooms are beautiful! We have stayed in other hotels in Vancouver but this was by far the most accommodating!
I stay here a lot and its a great hotel, good location, nice staff, good facilities. The restaurant is also fantastic. Only problem this time around was that the elevators didnt work well. One out of order and the other was very bumpy and not installing confidence in anyone using it.
I contacted the reservation office by email and was very impressed when I received a prompt reply. The Reservation Agent Marilyn, completed my reservation in a timely manner and personally telephoned me for additional information that I wasn't comfortable providing through email. I was provided not only a hypoallergenic room but was pleasantly surprised to know the hotel offered hypoallergenic... more
Great hotel great location and great value during low season
Stayed overnight to catch some city life. Nice hotel and staff. First hotel I have stayed in that has twin beds vs queen. Would have preferred a queen.
Our room was quiet and comfortable. Hotel staff were very friendly and attentive. Great for families as well as business trips. The building is somewhat dated, but the facility is clean and rooms have good amenities. Excellent swimming pool and gym.
Stayed here for 5 days while attending a conference. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown; however, the hotel has issues. The front counter people were not very helpful when asked questions; two of the elevations were not working and the remaining elevations took a very long time to arrive; and the internet is VERY slow. For this price, next time will stay at another downtown hotel.
Staff all very professional and helpful. Not the newest hotel but very well maintained. Will use again.
Most staff are very friendly. The concierge was especially helpful. Rooms are well maintained, enjoyed the restaurant. It is centrally located and easy to get around. All in all, a very nice stay.
Wonderful boutique hotel right in the center of city center, right next to fine food, culture, shopping (1.5 blocks from city center or burrard metro stops); very near (and a pleasant walk to) waterfront, china town, gas town, music, etc. Easy public transit to Stanley Park or just about anywhere else in town. Warmly welcoming and helpful staff from arrival to departure. Comfy and tasteful... more
We chose the Metropolitan because it was well-rated and close to public transportation. It exceeded our expectations in all aspects. Good location, friendly staff we had book for 2 nights we extended our stay , they were able to macth internet price fot the extra night.
Overall, it was great. The slow / choppy wi-fi was terrible, but I got around it. It would be helpful to know if there is a charge for the coffee (there wasn't, but I wondered).
Very nice hotel, rooms very good, staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
A very pleasant experience, good and helpful staff.
We arrived before check in time but they found us a room so we could unpack and relax after a day of traveling. The room was clean and everything we expected when booking it. The restaurant was very upscale and would highly recommend going in for "Appy" hour on week nights. Wonderful half price appetizers and a good selection of specially priced drinks. The staff was very friendly and helpful.... more
We stayed at the Metropolitan for three nights on March 10,2015. From the moment we arrived I could tell it was a right choice. The location is excellent, nice neighborhood and safe to walk at night. Our room 1012 was nice, office building view and clean, have tub with... more
The Metropolitan was a surprise find during our stay in Vancouver. The staff is outstanding, with special mention of David Lo, who helped us find the best Chinese restaurant in Vancouver. He went out of his way to make our stay memorable. The hotel is located right in the middle of downtown and if you cannot walk to your destination there is very efficient public transit. Rooms are... more
Everything one would expect from an executive hotel
Was OK. I've been staying there for about 20 years and it's always been a fine hotel... but it could really be maintained a bit. Maybe in the '90's, there was a use for a bathroom telephone.... but I think a bathroom fan might serve more use now. The hotel mentality is still "old".... where everything is super expensive when it need not be. The room rates are reasonable, but parking is... more
ドラッグストアが、近くにありショッピングにとても便利!道が凸凹していないのでスーツケースでの移動がスムーズで空港までスカイトレイン乗り換え無し!とても快適でした。
Amazing personable experience. All the staff were friendly. Only thing that sucked was the two twin beds were really small but overall amazing and accommodating and quiet.
The hotel has a great location close to lots of options (shopping, eating, etc). Room was clean and comfy, and it did have free wifi which is nice. Staff was friendly, I would stay again.
Great hotel, few elevator issues during our stay, but not a big deal. The WiFi can be a little sketchy, but the front desk had it sorted in no time, just ask them. Overall recommended
I was so surprised to be treated like royalty at a hotel I paid a little more than I would for a cheap motel. This place is awesome! The staff was wonderful. Doors were opened for us. We were allowed to check in a little early. The room was perfect. Not giant! It didn't need to be. It was very clean and well stocked with towels, lotions, soaps, etc. The paper showed up each morning at the door.... more
My fiance and I drove up north to spend a weekend in Vancouver after a 50% off hotel weekend from Expedia. We chose this hotel from many based on location. We were definitely happy with our choice. Everyone working at the hotel was very helpful, from finding out where to eat,... more
All amenities are very good - it just is in need of update. Elevators are always in repair and a lot of things show their age and many need repair - Also parking is $40 per day ! I would only stay if the price is low.
It was a great location the hotel is a little dated. Staff was excellent
Great Location, Friendly Staff and reasonably priced. Diva's restaurant serves great food.
I could not get any internet connection. I tried various different internet connections as instructed from your hotel staff, but could not get any good internet. ( this was disappointing to me as I had to use the business center for any significant internet actions.
Great location. Staff are always great. Very clean. Forgot very important documents in a room safe and checked out. Was already at airport when I realized it. They retrieved it and sent it the same day. Got the documents by noon the next day. Excellent service.
I was in Vancouver for less than 24 hours for a meeting. The hotel was close to my meeting and was the perfect spot to stay in. I only wish I was there longer! Staff were polite and welcoming. Breakfast was nice and the overall feel of the hotel was good. Furnishings were a bit tired and bathrooms a bit dated but overall a perfect stay.
Great location centrally situated to everything you need downtown - restaurants, shops and entertainment. We got a great price when combined with our flights to Vancouver so thought it would be a great opportunity to take a break from family for the night and enjoy a night downtown.
First of all, they let us check in early... very early. We would have just checked our overnight bags with the...

My husband booked an impromptu trip to Vancouver for NYE a couple days prior. The Metropolitan was in a great location right in downtown Vancouver and right next to all of the shops, restaurants and night life. We were able to walk to everything. - Large ultra-comfortable bed... mmmm

Overall the Metropolitan is a decent hotel. The rooms are clean and quiet and the staff are courteous and friendly while remaining very professional. I do have a couple of complaints however.. Some of us have electric or electronic... more
The Metropolitan Hotel in Vancouver has a very nice location in Downtown. It was near different forms of transit, the Gastown, Canada Place, Chinatown, and the Pacific Center Mall.

My stay at The Metropolitan Hotel made my first visit to Vancouver that much more excellent. The hotel is immaculately clean, respectfully quiet, and with outstanding staff. The front desk, doormen, engineer, and housekeeping staff were super kind, helpful and patient. I highly recommend and will stay here next time I visit lovely Vancouver.
There for two nights in may14,very comfortable hotel with a great pool and facilities, good view of Vancouver high rise from 17 th floor, two blocks up from the harbour and two blocks fron robson st shopping area,
Stayed for 3 nights en route to Whistler. Large, conformable room, with a very comfy bed. We visited the Metropolitan Hotel as a business and had a great experience. We were upgraded to a penthouse suite at no additional cost and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a memorable experience and we will be back!
Very professional staff at every level. Interesting meeting space for small group. Great location.
Beautiful junior suite. Diva is a great restaurant but limited menu. Group menu is extremely expensive, too expensive.
Thank you to all the team of this wonderful hotel!!!!
I was there, alone, for two nights, and the hotel met all of my expectations. One of the reasons I chose it was for location: it's convenient to most downtown venues, less than a mile to Gastown, and a bit of a walk (mile or so) to Stanley Park. The Metropolitan is in good company on that block: next door... more
Once in a while you get surprised by a selection. Our stay was one of those times. The location was ideal, about a 10 minute walk from the cruise terminal, directly across from the Four Seasons, and a block and a half away from the Pacific Centre Mall and the station for the underground trains.

pros - great bed / great ac system / nice lighting switch convenience / nice location
cons - noise from room above and outside room forced me to check out early. You hear everything form people talking to doors slamming.
We stayed a night at the Met before the 2014 Vancouver Sun Run. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was smallish, but clean and comfortable. Bed was a tad firm for my liking, but not like sleeping in a board!
We couldn't ask for more!!! We'll definitely be back!
The location was great. Fro the cost I would have expected more services. Suitable choice for business trips. May be better options for vacation stays
My boyfriend and I decided to stay here over the long weekend to celebrate his birthday. We have both stayed at this hotel 4 times before. Luckily, we happened to find a Living Social voucher, and jumped right at the chance.

Stayed here for a Trade Show weekend -- my 2nd time, and very happy. One of the few hotels where WiFi is free, and that is appreciated for a working weekend. Staff is really friendly, and I was allowed to check in early.
Some of the staff are nice. Unfortunately some don't seem to be. I didn't initially feel welcome here, but settled in. The Parking costs are astronomical 40-45$/night! Work that into the cost and I could've afforded a better hotel.
My wife and I stayed 4 nights recently for a business trip. Although the hotel is under renovation, the service was up to par. Great place to stay. Helpful and friendly staff. Ate breakfast in restaurant - very good service and great food.
The place is in a great location with several restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The room is nice and clean, but nothing spectacular. The staff was friendly, but not particularly available. The restaurant was dead, but food was good. Great views from the upper floors (I stayed on 13).
I stayed here on a quick 2 night business trip in March 2014. The hotel is central to downtown - restaurants, the art museum and the sky train. The gym has a couple of treadmills, machines and free weights. The concierge was especially helpful with reservations for our client dinner.

The central location of The Met in downtown Vancouver is a big plus. Walking distance to most Vancouver attractions.

Good sized room and water closet for a great price, centrally located in downtown Vancouver! Nicely appointed property with friendly staff and an excellent on site restaurant - "Diva @ the Met". Absolutely would stay here again.
I missed it this year but I just love the Xmas tree competition for charity held in lobby annually. The rooms are also comfortable and I've always made the stay complete with dinner at Diva.
Central location and just about perfect.
I recently stayed at the Metropolitan and had no complaints at all. The staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful, and the service was great. My room, which was very nice, had lots of space and was really comfortable. The bathroom was very nicely designed with a separate shower and tub, and lighted make-up mirror. I had stayed at... more
Perfect shopping location and very nice hotel . I spend one day in Vancouver with my friends and had a lot of fun . Room was very clean and cozy , service was great . Will definitely back again ............... more
We loved The Metropolitan. The hotel is right across the street from Pacific Centre in the heart of downtown Vancouver. It would be tough to find a better location to just park the vehicle for your stay and enjoy the city. The bed was comfortable and plush, lots of pillows and an extra blanket at the foot of the bed.... more
But getting a bit outdated in its styling but it's still a great location just out of view enough if you want more privacy and off the main roads through downtown Vancouver - that's why the A-listers from Hollywood stay there when they're in town. The service is good but it's a pricey place to stay; good for short visits... more
I stayed in the Met again last month - along with several other men and women from our company - it is one of y favorite Vancouver property and once again, with one exception, it was an excellent stay. The room was excellent, wifi worked fine, signal strong BUT the elevator really put a pall on my stay. Waits of... more
Looking like a poor sister to the Four Seasons across the road this hotel is over looked but shouldn't be.
It's situated in the middle of the Downtown district and is ideally suited for all the major attractions and business.
It does look a little dated in places but it's comfortable, offers a better nights sleep than the Four Seasons and is no where near as expensive.
The staff were very...

Stayed here for one night before flying back to London the next day. The hotel is conveniently located in downtown close to everything.
The rooms are well appointed with good bathrooms and all amenities. The free wifi in the room was welcome if a little slow and temperamental.
We ordered breakfast which was a touch expensive but good none the less.
The staff were very friendly and the...

Nice hotel & staff. Got out of the cruise early in the morning and the hotel had the room ready for me. So that's the best part! Stayed at the hotel only 1 full day - so did not have much time to explore..But overall, great location! Safe to walk around. BTW, I can print out my boarding pass in the Business Center without charge!
Easy to get from airport to hotel by train as hotel very close to the train station. Quiet location but close to main shops. Restaurant attached is just okay but there are other ones close by to go too. Only stayed 3 nights but would stay there again.
I would stay here again in a flash. the lobby leaves a little to be desired but the room was great!
Good hotel in central downtown location. Staff very helpful - anything we asked for was delivered promptly. Our room faced south-east and had a balcony (very rare downtown), although very small, but we were able to step outside and enjoy the morning sun. As it was our anniversary, a member of staff brought up to our room a cake on a decorated plate, together with an anniversary card, which was... more
My husband and I stayed here for two days after an Alaskan cruise. We were so worried about how early we were going to arrive due to our 9:00 debarking time and what were we going to do with ourselves until we reached check in time. Great location:easy walking distance to china town, gasstown n other attractions.good range of restaurantsaround.business centre facilities were complimentary n fast wireless too. A great gym with a steam room to relax to boot.
Stayed at the Met for two nights. Small but nice lobby (especially loved the carved art piece in the lobby). Rooms are decent size and clean. Location is at the center so hotel is within walking distance of shopping and dining. Service stood out - staff were very friendly, courteous and always offered assistance. Would highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Metropolitan Hotel. This was the first time we had used your website and we were pleased - everything worked out as planned. I had requested a quiet room and it was great - quietest room we have ever had in Vancouver. The bed was so comfortable -wonderful duvets and soft sheets. The room was smallish but had all the needed amenities. Bathroom was marble and... more
Good location. Reasonable rooms. I paid £62 - good value. Restaurant excellent for dinner, expensive for simple breakfast - $30. Pool and gym good and empty at 5am (jetlag). No complaints.
One of our preferred downtown Vancouver hotels. Walking distance to restaurants, Pacific Centre mall, Robsen street shopping, and the waterfront. The new Canada Line SkyTrain will take you from the airport to the Vancouver City Centre stop which is a block or two from the Met. Love this place!
Great value for money and highly recommended - I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel on a return visit to vancouver. Great location, decor, staff and restaurant make this a real winner!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Metropolitan. The room was very clean, comfortable, and inviting with modern decor and furnishings. The bathroom was beautifully appointed with marble walls and the linens were soft and plush. The hotel has a very small lobby and only one restaurant but we like the cozy feel and the friendly staff. I would definitely come back and would recommend to... more
Better than I thought based on the hotel price, very stylish and clean with ALL of the amenities. The room was good size, bathroom big and the room was completely stocked with everything one would need, coffee, robe, great bath products, hair dryer, mini bar. Very classy restaurant - The Diva - that I would definitely recommend getting a drink or even dining at. The rooms are basic - twin beds are very small. I didn't realize hotels still use twin beds. It was funny walking into the room and seeing this. Overall the hotel was a great value. I would recommend this to a guest visiting Vancouver. Great locations!
The hotel was excellent. It was centrally located, very well maintained. The staff was courteous and helpful in all manners. I would definately stay again and recommend this hotel to those visiting Vancouver.
This was an excellent hotel - location ideal, bar is well cool, staff were secodn to none - concierge service was superb. Just a really cool place in fact - recommend it anytime.
The Hotel was clean and centrally located in Downtown. Employees were friendly and helpful. I will stay here again when I come back.
Not a Vegas sized room but these people have Vegas size service. Wonderful experience. The view is typical 'city' because you are in the center but it is still cool.
Being in the center of Vancouver, it makes it an easy 'homebase' for sightseeing.
And yes, you don't have to pay out the nose for great service. The Met is affordable, they have great service, hot tub and pool, decent sized gym,...

This place is in the heart of downtown Vancouver, BC. Lots of shopping and eating within walking distance. The breakfast and parking was a bit excessive but it's downtown. I would stay again if the price was right.
When we started planning our wedding , We thought it would be easy to find a Hotel in the Downtown area that would be happy to host our wedding with in our budget. We were wrong , Many hotels in the DT area have small meeting rooms that would be perfect for hosting a Reception for 20 people. But most hear the word wedding and the prices seem to go through the roof. Most would tack on a room... more
Exceeded expectations in every respectWe arrived at 10 am to drop our bags until check - in at 3 pm. The cheapest rate I could find near the convention centre, although not as close as I usually stay (about a 4 block walk...)
Last time I stayed they sent brownies up to my room! No such luck this time. Maybe they only do it for first timers? That being said the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I have stayed here over couple of trip now and found the place to very good. The short answer is if I was not on a trip for work would I stay here and the answer is yes.
Everything was great about the hotel, except for two problems with our stay. Our queen bed was somewhat hard and it was a double. Also, one of the elevators was broken during our whole 3 night stay which made for some long wait times. Aside from that a nice room with a lot of nice features. Also, the hotel gym, pool and hot tub were great!
1. Totally affordable/reasonably priced.
2. Great lobby/rooms.
3. They are DOG friendly!
4. I like the bathroom for some reason there
5. Hot tub and heated indoor pool.
6. Close to all the good eats
7. Close to the good shopping
Will most definitely stay here again next time I'm in Vancouver BC. That city has got some YUMMY treats!
Based on other places I have traveled to I think you get great value for the rooms. They are clean, fresh, and most importantly the beds and pillows are comfortable.
I stayed at the lovely Metropolitan hotel during my recent business trip to Vancouver. The downtown location was convenient to the office, just a short walk around the block. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was accommodating. When I checked into my room, I was greeted with a nice note from the manager accompanied by the most delicious chocolate brownie bites. I look forward... more
The staff was exceptional. The concierge, Nathalie, was the best! She really helped with organizing our week long trip, took care of dinner reservations, etc. The hotel restaurant named Diva was a pleasant surprise for both breakfast and a late dinner. This was the single hotel available downtown that was dog friendly (We tried to reserve a hotel 2 weeks in advance.) The pet fee was something reasonable (20-something dollars) also. However, when we got up to our hotel room it seemed like a standard (sized) hotel room in a... more
Nice hotel but parking was 40 dollars a day. Close to Canada Place.
We traveled to Vancouver last October for a conference. Our conference was at a well-known classic style Vancouver hotel but we looked for other downtown locations that would be a bit cheaper. This was my first time in the city (and in Canada)so the downtown location and the price were important factors. So we picked the Metropolitan and had a wonderful experience.

My fiance and I stayed at this hotel for a little getaway for some time to ourselves. We enjoy the hotel, but the deluxe queen room isn't so deluxe. The tvs are old. There is no stereo. The Metropolitan Hotel is located in the heart of downtown. It is within walking distance to Robson Street, Gas Town, China Town and the waterfront. We did not eat at the restaurant/bar onsite as we wanted to stretch our traveling money further. ... more
This is a beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver. The service is exceptional, the rooms very comfortable , they even get the temperture right! The fitness and pool area is clean, bright and well appointed.
The standard of room and service was excellent. The optional breakfasts were a little pricy, although we did not have the breakfast ourselves. The hotel admitted their mistake of expecting us for a twin single, when a double was booked. They quickly upgraded us without any fuss.
From the outside, the hotel looks dull and dated especially with the towering Four Seasons staring down from across the street. Here's why you don't judge a book by its covers. The Metropolitan is a posh hotel and definitely caters to the upper-class. The room and bathroom are luxurious and they offer all the services and amenities of a four star hotel. The staff treat you with smiles and are... more

Nice hotel with attentive staff and lots of attention to detail. They do little things like leave water for you each day and a little card with the weather. I would definitely recommend it to others. The location was perfect, close to Canada Place, restaurants, and the Sky line train from the airport. The price was good. THe room was clean, and bathroom was nice with separate bath and showers, with granite countertops/shower walls.
Loved this place. Great concierges who gave good advice, excellent room service that will deliver a microwave to your room for no charge, and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. We also enjoyed the pool, it wasn't huge, but it was large enough to do a few laps and loosen up after traveling a bit.
Metropolitan Hotel was a great choice for our precious few days in Vancouver. With such little time and so much to do, it is ESSENTIAL that you be near all your vacationing needs and wants. Our hotel was not only a pretty posh little establishment, but it was less than .1 mile from everything!

Super location. Within walkable distance to most attractions in downtown. Easy access to hotel from airport through the Canada Line. Though there is construction just next to the hotel, disruption is kept to minimum. Did not hear the construction noises from hotel. Need to re-route from opposite side of the road to reach hotel but still ok with luggages.
Location..location..location!
Despite the fact that our hearts will always lie with the ultra-chic Loden Hotel that we stayed at last time, the Metropolitan definitely trumps the Loden with its prime location. This is the second time I have stayed at The Metropolitan Hotel. I really like this hotel for its position and facilities. The Hotel is in a great location. A very quiet and sophisticated ambiance in lobby. Room was very small, otherwise, nicely appointed and very clean. Biggest hidden expense was a $40 parking charge. This should be disclosed at booking.
These guys were full of classic Canadian kindness. The room was very nice (though parking was a little pricey at the hotel--$45/day; across the street in the public lot was $12). They were full-up the weekend of our reservation and upgraded us to a luxury room, which would have been great if it hadn't meant going from two beds to one. One of my favourite downtown hotels. For a few years now there has been construction on the building next door, so a letter in the room apologizes for the extra noise. We loved our stay at the Met. Nicely decorated - from the lobby to the room to the restaurant. Our view from the room was of other buildings - no ocean view, but that was fine as we were only in our rooms after dark - city lights instead :0). The entire staff at this hotel went out of their way to make us feel at home. Great location, fantastic restaurant, professional staff. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
I spent a weekend here on a great rate through Orbitz. I had read a bunch of reviews noting that there is a construction site next door to the hotel, but decided to risk it. The Metropolitan Hotel is in an excellent location and made getting around very easy. The staff were friendly and helpful and rooms were clean.
Wonderful, helpful staff. Great location for access to Stanley Park, aquarium, Gastown, Granville Island, waterfront, and shopping.
Did not provide coffee each day as required. Removed bathing robe before our last day. Did not provide 2 robes to begin with. Think they are better than what they are. Would not recommend to anyone.
From the moment we arrived the staff made us feel we were the only ones in the hotel. [...] at the front desk was efficient, friendly and upbeat. The hotel is in walking distance to not only tourist attractions but fabulous restaurants. The linens made us feel like we were in a petite hotel. We were truly impressed.
Very nice rooms with huge bathrooms. Friendly & helpful staff. My sons very much enjoyed the fitness center. Great location for everything in downtown Vancouver.
We were able to walk to Robson street to shop and we had plenty of restaurant options for meals. Parking was expensive and there is a lot of construction going on near the hotel, likely in preparation for the 2010 Olympics.
The staff were flexible and accomodating. The service was very good.
great location, convenient to all downtown places, very nice and lean room.all rooms are noisy because if you stay in the front side of the hotel, you hear the traffice noise, if you stay at the rear side, here is a construction going on which does not seem to finish in a year or two - it's a construction site of another hotel just 10 feet away
Very elegant hotel. Clean, nicely decorated, helpful staff. Expensive parking at the hotel but that is to be expected when staying in a city. Definitely recommend this hotel.
while i was there i was on a business trip so i was in the room just to change clothes or to sleep. every thing in the hotel was great and i didnt needed anything at the time. the hotel is a little different and but i like it! the staff are very nice and if you need something they were there when i needed a thing.
An upscale hotel right in the heart of Vancouver! The room was spotless, the linens luxurious, the bathroom was all marble and very spa-like. The hotel was quiet, the staff friendly and helpful. They had a business center with a computer, printer & fax. It was within walking distance to the Art Museum, resturants, and lots of great shopping. Who could ask for more? We loved it!
Perfect location and lovely rooms. Would recommend highly. Staff very helpful and friendly. Knowledgeable conceierge -Book it!
Top notch, high quality, beautiful, clean room. Very comfortable bedding and nice staff. No complaints. Pricey, but saved quite a bit through Orbitz off the price on the hotel's website. Very satisfied.
great value for money given that the hotel is in such a superb location
Very friendly staff. Great location to everything. Construction next door but not that noisy. I would recommend to others.
I chose this hotel because it was downtown and seemed close to everything, which for the most part was true. The bathroom was the best feature, although I thought all rooms had separate bath tubs from the showers, and mine was a combo. The sauna and pool/gym facilities were very clean. “The hotel is located right in the hear of downtown Vancouver, and close to the airport. It has very nice decor, and the rooms are large and quite comfortable. “The staff was extremely curious and helpful, the hotel was in a great location, and the linens were of a higher quality. The one thing we did not like was that we had a room that could be adjoined to the next room, so we heard the phone ringing and people talking in that room. The website says the rooms are "sound proof", but other than that we were very happy with the hotel.”
“This hotel does an excellent job of welcoming you as if you paid the bar. There is a strong culture of service and the staff is dedicated to using your sir Name, when proper. It was a wonderful stay experience. ”
“Nicely located in downtown Vancouver close to shops and restaurants. Good for business travelers with a convenient business centre. Parking was expensive.”
“My family's visit to Vancouver was made especially memorable due, mostly, to the staff in this beautiful hotel. Our rooms were spacious, yet cozy; comfortable in the very best sense of the word. But the staff made all the difference in the world! Gracious and accommodating, they couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Thank you every so much.”
