A Wonderful Place To Eat

Service is second to none. The menu, especially breakfast, is extensive. And the price is far better than other local restaurants.

Good first night in Banff

This was a good place to start our eating in Banff. We did better later in the week, but the burgher and salad were decent and acceptable. Service also very accomodating and the place was close to our hotel.

Pleasant surprise

Stopped in for lunch because our tour director recommended it. Was pleasantly surprised. The staff was attentive and the food very good and reasonable priced.

Great place for family breakfast

The menu was pleasing for the adults and the kids (ages 3 and 1). Reasonable prices and great mountain ambiance.

Beautiful food

Family restaurant but nice feel to it, value for money excellent. We had an entree each, which included starter and large main. I had BC wild salmon which was delicious, and my husband had a slow cooked rib of beef which was amazing melt in the mouth stuff. Half the price of a similar meal elsewhere in the town.

Try the soup

Some of the best baked French onion soup I have ever had - make sure you try it! The staff is great about subbing the soup in place of a salad, too. The meals are huge so you might not have room for everything you order but it is pretty good food.

Good environment

When I came here, soccer was on and there were a few people who were from across seas getting into the game, and then some locals enjoying themselves. The staff were friendly and the food was good. Great breakfast on the first day in Banff. Recommended by a friend. Wonderful eggs benedict and apple cinamon pancake.

Reliable and friendly

Sat at table after only a short wait, service was friendly and attentive. Really good selection on the menu and priced very reasonably. Our food arrived promptly and tasted great. They have a lot if seats and can always accommodate you if you turn up on spec, like we did.

My family with 4 adults , a child, and teen spent 1 week in Canadian Rockies and this restaurant had the best overall menu. The prices were very reasonable for the area and the kids menu included a small steak. I highly recommend this for a very good family dinner.

found too late

We where in banff for 7 days and we did not make our way here til day 6. We came for breakfast. Just incredible, we came back for dinner that night and breakfast the next morning. Great location we'll be back next year.

Really bad experience. We chose this restaurant because they have nice patio sitting area. Right off the bat, the table was gross. I liked the area it was in but there was nothing else worth mentioning. The food was not good and the steak was bland. Never recommend this for a taste of Alberta Beef.

Featuring a menu that does not break the bank, everything for breakfast looks amazing. I had the three egg Benedict and one large pancake. It is large and yes, one will do for the both of you! Service is impeccable. Always busy so expect a bit of a wait (but not too long).

A Banff Classic

Melissa’s is favorite of mine for incredible food and wine every time I make my way to Banff. You will not be disappointed! Price is within reason (for Banff) and the menu selection is great! My favorites are the Eggs Benny for breakfast and the prime rib for an evening meal! And the history of the place is amazing!

Great Breakfast

Great place for breakfast which is apparently served from 7:00-4:00 daily. Fast & friendly service. If we return to Banff would definitely seek out for breakfast.

Over and Above

We were in Banff over the June 26th weekend. Our experience at Melissa's on different days for different meal times was already in the higher quality area. However, we were even more impressed by manager Steve Fournier's next-day couriering of forgotten sunglasses after a call confirmed they had been left there. All in all worth our first Tripadvisor review!

Consistently good, fast breakfast

We always go to Melissa`s for breakfast in Banff. I can`t speak to the other meals, but the Breakfast is always good, and always fast. We went on our way home, and were in and done in 30 minutes! It`s popular, so you may have in line.

Good breakfast and lunch

We visited this restaurant 2 times while in Banff. Great service both times and we were seated quickly. We went for an early lunch one day and saw their breakfast menu so we knew we would want to do a breakfast visit before we left Banff. Very satisfied.

Simply Good Food & Service

If you want good, home cooked food, this is the place to go. This family type restaurant is great for all ages. We had dinner there twice during our stay and they were offering an anniversary price (I think meals at 1975 prices) but regardless, their normal menu is great value and the service is to match.

Great steaks, excellent value

This was recommended by one of the best drivers and we followed his suggestion of trying the salad & steaks. The steaks were the equal of any other we had during our holiday and were excellent value. The house wine was also good so all round it was one of the best meals we had during our holiday.

Best casual dining I've ever seen.

We went to Melissa's in Feb and all 12 of us thought it very second rate. Our meals were very disappointing. The only positive was one of the children who ordered pizza. The veggie burger was dry and uninteresting, the casserole and steak meals were all declared disappointing and overpriced. We wouldn't dine there again unless it was purely for pizza and there are better places to go in Banff.

Melissa's has an old supperclub feel. The waitresses are a little bit older and saltier than the precocious teens that are common at trendier spots.
