From the Big Mac to the Quarter Pounder, we have been serving smiles and memories, coast-to-coast, since 1967.
This is a clean, spacious facility for a McDonalds. Can handle groups of diners.
McDonald's is my favourite fast food franchise - and this restaurant has the best location one could possibly imagine in Halifax.
Unfortunately, however, it is poorly managed. Queues are always endless, especially at peak times, there are only two cash registers, and even at peak times often only one of the two is staffed.
I have never received my meal immediately at this restaurant - everybody has to wait to receive their order. This fast food restaurant doesn't deserve to be called like that.
Have you ever wondered what a place would look like if you combined a McDonalds with a homeless shelter? If you have, check out the McDonald's on SGR. It's really fun to go there at 7am before yoga to pick up a coffee (which is actually really good). I love starting my weekend watching people come down from MDMA or whatever. I guess all downtown McDonald's are going to be pretty sketch but... more
Was just here to get a burger, all the food is the same across all mcdonalds for the most part. For such a busy location they should have another register or two. The location is handy, food is cheap and quick, if you dont mind the usual people out front then its just about the same as any other mcdonalds.
A little bit of a strange layout, but otherwise service was fine and the food was what you expect. I would consider going here again for breakfast as an alternative to say Tim Horton's. Only issue is that the homeless population is kind of high on this street, but I didn't have any issues.
This is hands-down probably the worst place to work at in Halifax. Not only are the people who go here the times I do (late at night, highly intoxicated) but it seems to draw first years more than any place I know.
The servers are patient, quick paced, and try to serve everyone as fast as they can as best as they can. People are regularly rude to the employees and they meet the rudeness with...

Went to this location for a bite at about 2 am. They were out of beef patties. A McDonals....was out of beef patties. How does this happen? I'm not sure. Kudos to the staff that puts up with the Spring Garden crowd, especially the post 11 pm Spring Garden crowd. But seriously...how the F$%K does a McDonalds run out of beef patties?!?!
Truth be told, I only ever go to McDonalds for the coffee. (Ok... SOMETIMES for chicken nuggets, but usually for coffee). It's right across from my office, and it's the cheapest cup of joe that you're going to find. That being said, at this particular location, I have had to wait 10 and even 15 minutes for one single cup of coffee. Black coffee. Cheap? Yes. Efficient,? Sweet jesus no. Perhaps... more
Another disappointing experience at the Spring Garden Road McDonald's: 14 people in line, 18 minutes until I finally got my "fast" food.
It's ridiculous that a downtown McDonald's in a city of almost 300,000 only has two cash registers, but what's even more ridiculous is that they only staff one of the two on a long weekend coupon event Saturday afternoon.
Why do I keep going there? Because...

First off, how can you rate a McDonald's? I mean they're ubiquitous in a city centre and everyone has eaten there at least once. No, it would be foolish to rate a McDonald's on its culinary merits.
But this review is not for taste satisfaction, oh no. My review for McDonald's on Spring Garden Road is to cheers the staff that put up with the less than subdued crowds every night of the week.

This one is just as bad as the other ones. Meet-free burgers and grease-stuffed fries. Ewe..
