Clean excellent service.

The hotel was in a great location with a very helpful staff. The rooms were clean and modern with the option to save $5.00 for skipping service. The breakfast was OK, the chef made a variety of egg dishes, which were ok. I prefer plain eggs, more American style.

The rooms themselves are nice, the interior of the hotel is nice. But if its summer time and you happen to get a room on the west side of the building or you are using one of their banquet rooms or just plain standing in the lobby well I hope you enjoy the heat because you will be enjoying plenty of it. If I preferred an osalating fan I would have gone to the Super 8.

Great Hotel for business trips

I recently stayed at the Matrix while I was in Edmonton for business. The location of the hotel was ideal as I was only a block and a half way from where I needed to be. Great spot for government business

Two nights, Sunday and Monday. Free parking (and the parking ticket we were issued with in the privately run lot was promptly dealt with) and free wifi. Reception was very good, lounge in the evening was comfortable and breakfast was par for the course - not bad, not outstanding. OK if your travel budget won't allow for something better

I travel for business and decided to give Matrix a try, location is OK only a few blocks away from some restaurants but if you have the budget try something a bit nicer. Rooms are OK but worn out, in fact the entire hotel could use a bit of work. Overall OK for ONE night I wouldn't push my luck.

Still good

This was our third time staying at the Matrix and it remains our hotel of choice in Edmonton. We really enjoy the modern decor and cosmopolitan feel. The Keurig coffee station in the room was a welcome surprise. I hate those single serving coffee pots. We will be staying here again.

How filthy dirty rotten must this place be to require so much perfume/scented product be sprayed in the rooms. Health Warning! Comfy and soothing

It might not be much to look at from outside but I loved staying at this hotel. A boutique hotel, it is sleek and sophisticated. The room was spacious and comfortable. But what floored me were the friendly, ever-smiling staff who were so courteous, I had to wonder if I was dreaming.

Always easy, always classy, nice rooms and lots of perks. Definitely best choice in downtown Edmonton. Staff is friendly and rooms are really quiet. This older building was updated in 2006 or so and a name change went along with the refit. The quality of the renovation is pretty high scale, with the use of metal and glass panels in the main lobby. Good location downtown, clean and modern room. My baseboard heater made loud clicking noises regularly during the night, keeping me awake. It was frustrating! Unaccustomed to free parking at a hotel, I was impressed that they offered it. Even more impressive is the lobby. It's funky, clean and modern, yet it's still somehow inviting and warm.
