Mary Macleod's shortbread cookies are absolutely delicious! I get a tin of the chocolate crunch cookies every year during Christmas and it is so hard to keep my hands away!
I don't like shortbread but I loved the maple shortbread. I purchased a variety to take on a business trip as gifts and they were a hit. They have a variety of sizes perfect for gifting. Very nice packaging as well. Would definitely recommend and I'll be back for more for sure!
Excellent shortbread. Koodos to Ms. Mary and her oh so good chocolate crunch shortbread cookies.
Amazing cookies & amazing service!
I ordered 24 mixed shortbread cookies for my office online. I indicated that there's someone with a peanut allergy upon ordering. Mary personally called me to ask about the allergy and indicated that she would separate the nutty shortbreads from the others during packaging.
I am located in Waterloo, even though Mary indicated that she only shipped to the GTA...

My first taste of these amazing shortbread cookies was at a sample bar at Holt Renfrew on Bloor. The server approached me with a tray and I reluctantly took one to be polite. Blow my mind, that was the best thing I had in my mouth in years! I instantly purchased a sleeve in hopes of stretching out the moment and finished them all in the same day (six cookies). I read the package to see where... more
I used to go the the store at Yonge and Eglinton at least 25-30 years ago when I first came to Canada. I always loved the quality of Mary MacLeod's shortbread. The closest to home made, available here. I purchased a box of the chocolate chunk shortbread a few weeks ago ... the quality and the standards have not changed. Still a stellar product. The texture is perfect, and just the right ratio... more
This place is dangerous. Seriously dangerous. You can't just have one shortbread cookie. You need a sleeve of 6. A mix of chocolate, mint chocolate, espresso, crunchy, and traditional. They're obnoxiously delicious. Every time I go in, they give me a free one "for the road" and oh man...I could just move in. The smell is divine.
The downfall? They're too close to me. They are way too close to...

One Mary MacLeod's choco chunk shortbread or a bag of grocery store choco chip cookies? same price.
No decision here - the taste and texture of Mary MacLeod's shortbread is so wonderful. Someone else can work through a bag of grocery store cookies while I'm savouring one perfect shortbread.
You can really understand the baker's meaning of 'short' when the texture is sooo right.
Thank you...

When I was a kid I had grown-up (maybe even *senior*) taste in cookies: digestives and shortbread.
Yep.
I was always popular for school lunchbox swaps.
Little has changed. I'm still crazy for shortbread cookies, and Mary MacLeod's is tops. To drill that home, allow me to yell in this virtual forum: TOPS!
I love these cookies. Usually I like fancy flavours and surprise-me combinations, and...

Mary MacLeod's Shortbread is a very cute little shop that offers delicious little treats!
I love the mini chocolate crunch! Just thinking about them while yelping about them really makes me wish I had some sitting beside me right now!
They come in a cute little package, that makes you feel guilty when you open them because it feels like you...

Amazing shortbread... and I loves me a good shortbread! The more plain chocolate crunch ones are my favourites.
These cookies come nicely packaged and make good gifts. They aren't cheap, but they are worth it! If you're on a budget, on the weekends they often have "dollar bags". For a mere dollar, you get a random sampling of a couple different kinds of cookies.

Really yummy cookies, perfect for parties. Friendly staff.
Brought a dozen to a party and everyone was thrilled. This was a good find.
I find this little cookie shop ultra-adorable! The little blonde girl inside was equally nice. I got a dozen shortbread cookies, plus additional boxes requested by friends (most of us live in the GTA).
Flavours I tried: whole wheat walnut crunch, chocolate crunch, hazelnut chocolate crunch, dutch chocolate crunch, coffee crunch, orange crunch, and mint chocolate crunch. What gives all these...

Coming out of a Coffee Shop and walked 2 steps, I stopped and noticed a SHORTBREAD shop and started reading the outside notes on the door. Following behind me from the Coffee Shop a lady with hands full of Coffee asked me nicely if I can open the door to this place. Sure!
As I opened the door for her, she invited me in and thanked me. She offered me a Cookie(Chocolate Crunch, $1.75) and went...

This is how you know that Leslieville is gentrifying.
Went here on a brunch run to the Leslieville and decided to take a stroll in the neigbourhood.
This store, quaint, small, storefront looks like the tourist type you would see at Niagra-on-the-lake, kind of like the perennial Christmas store.
Went in and found out it's a tiny cubical counter with a large factory back. The front has two...

I was walking on the south side of Queen coming back from my lunch and the aroma smacked me in the face. It smelled of buttery fresh baking, so I back tracked and followed my nose. This lovely woman greeted us offering a dutch cocoa chocolate shortbread as a sample, not a wee chunk of a quarter of a biscuit, but the entire one. It was not overly sweet or too much chocolate, it was complete... more

I have purchased Mary MacLeod's Shortbread for Corporate Christmas Gifts for many years. They are the best Shortbread cookies... pure heaven. My coworkers and family all look forward to them every year. Mary's Shortbread cookies have become a Christmas tradition.
Mary MacLeod's Shortbread is melt-in-your-mouth, pure heaven! Her cookies remind me so much of my own grandmother's shortbread. Mary herself is often back at the ovens and there is always a good amount of sampling to be had as you ruminate over which delicious cookie to buy. It's a must!
So many types of shortbread, all of which are the best you have ever had! Mary MacLeod's cookie shop is one of Toronto's best kept secrets and fortunately is it just outside the downtown core. Inder Grewal. San Francisco, CA.
