The Ottawa Marriott Hotel is located in downtown Ottawa near the Parliament Buildings, museums and shopping. This Ottawa hotel features a Kids' Zone activity centre, indoor pool and fitness centre.
Downtown, 4-diamond hotel: 480 rooms, 22 mtg rooms (31,000 sq.ft space), Summit (revolving rooftop).
A very strong 4 star hotel. Well kept, excellent internet connection and plenty of things in and around the hotel.
I loved the beds, only stayed for two nights back in Oct 08, but it's like sleeping on a cloud.
Très bonne location, en plein centre-ville. Hôtel offrant des activités et des aires de jeux pour les enfants; ATTENTION cependant, ces services sont en rénovation et devraient être accessibles graduellement au cours du mois de janvier 2009.

We asked for late check-out - and instead they gave us a pass to the gym and shower, Wonderful! Thank you Chantal super pleasant stay.
Bathroom counter is filthy to the touch. All vending machines are empty, so they charge you 33% more for the hassle of going to the front desk for a soft drink. Not impressed.
Dont go....... With an suv .parking is a bad thing here. If you have a suv and a family sorry to say this is not a place for you. Do not book this hotel if you are part of a hockey tournament simply because of the parking. The htoel is noce but the management couldnt care lessif you are driving around looking for high priced parking while your kids sit in the lobby
The staff at this hotel was hit or miss. Some outstanding and several not. Amenities were very limited. No gift shop for picking up last minute items. Room service stops at midnight, and both food and service left much to be desired Starbucks in lobby had very limited hours. Toiletries were low quality. No pay per view in rooms and TV reception was poor. Wi fi was ridiculously pricey and very... more
Decent service. Large rooms. Three and a half stars at max. Priceline says four but for that they would need a better staffed lobby and lend you gym clothes.
Colt - sept 2011 Had a recent meeting at Marriott and loved the wait staff and the water!! Staff commented on how many people say that and that a local company RainSoft Water Treatment treats all the water. The jugs were used instead of bottles which is very important to me.
Nice, but nothing special. Upper floors get to hear the wind all night long with sound from the hallway being prevalent as well.
Not very clean counter at the bathroom, but it is not big disadvantage. Very good and everything else is clean.
It's was our 24th anniversary , everthing was wonderful , we at in the revolving dinner longe . spent way to much because it was all so good , Went back to our room after a walk on sparks street , only to find out that our top notch room was no longer friendly . A group of scoccer kids where running up and down the halls and beating on peoples doors . A phone call to the desk , yes we will move... more
We had a room near the top, maybe that's why it was so good:) The bedding was luxurious and the bed itself was comfy. We enjoyed the concierge lounge for the complimentary breakfast, and the Starbucks in the lobby. What could be better?:) Definitely would stay again.
The Restaurant "Toulouse" on the main level used to be a lovely french style bistro with beautiful decor, this is evident by the one remaining light fixture. It is now a combination 'sports bar '- kids playground - greace spoon . Please change the name so people will not be deceived. There is nothing so disappointing as spending an evening at a restaurant that has gone so far down hill that you... more
The staff wasn't helpful at all, i called down for a bunch of stuff and they couldnt help me
My executive room was excellent in all ways. The service from all staff was outstanding. The value for the dollars was excellent compared to other hotels in the area.
Check in was fast and friendly. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and had all amenities. Bed was very comfortable. Room presented an amazing view of the city. Everything one would expect from a Marriott Hotel.
Very nice hotel and centrally located to the center of Ottawa. I would stay there again.
This Hotel has the best wiew of center of Ottawa. Our room was in 24th floor and have a nice rever and castle view. It was above our imagination. So impressive. Please request River view room for you. Hotel also gave my 4 Y daughter a small pack of toys and she loved it.
Hotel is in excellent condition and hotel staff were friendly. This was overall a great getaway from hectic Toronto and it all worked out thanks to Expedia and Marriott !
The staff was friendly, very helpful. We had a great time!
Room was great and clean. Bed is very comfortable. Location of the hotel is very accessible to all attractions. Parliament building is just two blocks away. Over all, I am happy with my stay. They could have included internet with the room price. They are charging $11 per day. It is cheap mentality. Mariott is big hotel and they shouldn't be thinking making money for the internet.
The big disappointment was that the hotel had overbooked itself and we had to go down the street to the Delta, which is not on par with the Marriott. The Marriott comped our room at the Delta and said to come back for the second night of our stay and they would upgrade us. The upgrade was ok and they said they would comp our second night as well....and that I should see a credit on my visa in 3... more
love Marriott hotels in general. Don't let them put you on the 5th floor at this location...whistling noise from the elevators will drive you crazy.
Short stay downtown with a reasonable price. Great staff. Little dated rooms.
The service is great, however hotel is the early 90s time-capsule.It's unfortunate that Ottawa being Canada's capital does not have better Marriott. I've stayed in a number of Marriotts around the world and this one does not cut it. Bed was very comfortable which was a definite ++
Front Desk was very nice and helpful. Arrived ahead of schedule and let us check in early. Room did have a continuous running toilet but the front desk offered another room to which I declined knowing I was going to be out most of the day and would rather it be fixed and not waste the water. It was fixed when we got back. Was woken from sleep with a fire alarm which was a false alarm and... more
A typically well run Marriott. Excellent location for business in Ottawa. Valet parking. Friendly, efficient staff at every level.
The Hotel was under construction when I stayed there. It was still very professional looking and the hotel staff was very nice. The room was wonderful and the bed was so very comfortable.
The hotel has been undergoing an extensive remodeling of the lobby area. As a consequence you have to take a roundabout route to get from the lobby to the rooms. If you're in and out of the hotel a lot, or have restricted mobility, this will be a problem.[...] I also got two free bottles of water one night when I asked about change for the vending machines. The desk person helpfully pointed out... more
The Marriott Ottawa is undergoing a major remodeling (August 2010) yet they have maintained high standards for rooms and staff performance. They definitely maintained their four star ratring even on the face of the work being done. An added bonus was that our room rate was very competitive, presumably because of the inconvenience to guests of the remdeling. In fact, there really was no... more
Hotel is conveniently close to everything we wanted to see in Ottawa. Hotel is clean.
Very nice hotel to stay at. There was cold water in the front reception with a snack available to all guest. The staff was extremely friendly. The pool, sauna room clean and enjoyable. Apples were left outside for a snack as well. The only flaw was that it's going through renovations right now so to trek from the underground parking to our rooms was inconvenient.
Great location to walk around and see the sights of Ottawa.
Good location. Lives up to the expectations I have of a Marriott. Clean. Decent restaurant on premises, etc.
Very nice. However we had to ask for another room as they gave us a small room with a full size bed. The request was immediate. They were under construction so we had to take two different elevators to our room of choice. We attended a family funeral and toured the Business district.
Great location. Had a great room. Loved the king sized bed and high floor. Glad that Tims was across the street so that we could get a reasonably priced breakfast.
It was our 40th wedding anniversary, and we could not get king or queen size bed, only 2 double beds.We liked the location, though: two blocks away from the Parlament Hill, close enough to the Byward Market and other tourist attractions. Tremendous shopping Rideau Center is nearby too.
Hotel was an excellent value, given that it was walking distance to Ottawa's downtown tourist attractions (Parliament, Rideau canal, museums, restaurants, open market, etc.). Staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. We ate at the Merlot revolving restaurant on the roof. It was a splurge for us, but we were rewarded with spectacular views of Ottawa, a good menu and excellent service from our... more
